Berlin Westhafen station

Birkenstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the line. It was opened in 1961 by B. Grimmek. There are two entrances to the station, located at the Birkenstraße and Wilhelmshavenerstraße crossroad, on either side of the road. The station's walls are decorated with green tiles in reference to the station's name—the word birke is German for birch tree.

The Peace Statue is a monument located in Union Square in the Moabit district of Mitte, Berlin for the "comfort women" (girls and women who were forced into prostitution in Japanese military brothels during World War II). It also serves as a general symbol against sexual violence against girls and women. The monument was initiated by the "Action Group Comfort Women" of the Korea Verband and was unveiled on September 28, 2020. The statue has sparked a discourse on commemorative cultures among local, state, and diplomatic levels. The bronze statue was designed by the South Korean artist couple Kim Eun-sung (b. 1965) and Kim Seo-kyung. It is the first statue of its kind to be installed in a public space in Germany.

The Deutsches Herzzentrum Berlin (DHZB) is a medical research centre in Berlin, Germany, specialised in cardiovascular disease, as well as cardiopulmonary transplantation.The hospital has two CMR scanners. A new heart centre is planned to be built in 2018 and finish construction in 2021.

Amrumer Straße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the . It was opened in 1961 and constructed by B. Grimmek. The name of the nearby hospital, Rudolf Virchow Hospital (Rudolf-Virchow-Krankenhaus), was part of the name until the end of the 1980s. Today it is still an important station for visitors of the hospital.

VLB Berlin (Versuch- u. Lehranstalt für Brauerei in Berlin) is the owner of the Institut für Gärungsgewerbe und Biotechnologie zu Berlin (Institute for Fermentation and Biotechnology, Berlin). It is an institute in Berlin's Wedding district that provides research, training, education and service for the brewing industry.Its education side which cooperates with the Berlin University of Technology which are in English or Russian includes Certified Brewmaster six-month courses which are attended by worldwide brewers including August A. Busch IV.The VLB was founded in 1883 and moved in 1898 to its current location at Seestreet 13. From 1898 to 1981 it operated the Hochschul Brauerei (which translates to University Brewery).Among its publications is Technology Brewing and Malting by Wolfgang Kunze.

The Sugar Museum was a museum that operated from 1904 until 2012 in Berlin with exhibits dedicated to the history and technology of sugar. At its closure as an independent museum in 2012, it was the oldest such museum in the world, and was housed in the Institut für Lebensmitteltechnologie (Institute of Food Technology) in Wedding, Mitte. It reopened in the form of a modernized exhibit at the German Museum of Technology in Kreuzberg in November 2015.

Turmstraße (Tower street) is a main street in the Berlin district of Moabit. The street runs along the "Kleiner Tiergarten" park, and past the Moabit courthouse. Turmstraße is also the name of an U-Bahn stop on the U9. Moabit Courthouse and Moabit Hospital are located over here, as shown in the images on the right.

The Westhafen (German for West Harbor) is Berlin's largest inland port, located in the district of Moabit. The Westhafen has an area of 430.000 square meters and it is divided into two parallel harbor basins. It is connected to the Spree and Havel rivers via the Westhafen Canal and the Berlin-Spandau Shipping Canal (known as the Hohenzollern Canal) and is thus integrated into the supraregional waterway network between the Elbe and Oder rivers. The Westhafen is a transhipment and storage site for inland shipping with a growing importance. For the onward transport of goods by rail, it is connected to the Berlin ring railroad, the Hamburg and Lehrter freight yards and the Moabit freight yard. Goods are transported in and out by truck via the A 100 city highway. The Westhafen and Beusselstraße train and U-Bahn stations provide public transportation. The Westhafen was founded in 1923, when the BEHALA (Berliner Hafen- und Lagerhaus AG) was founded as its operating company. On September 3 of the same year, a first section of the harbor was inaugurated. Some of the BEHALA buildings originating from 1920s have later been added to the list of Berlin monuments.

Turmstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the line. The station is located in fare zone A. It was opened on 28 August 1961, and designed by B. Grimmek. Turmstraße was originally built with an extra rail track under U5; it is no longer used due to technical issues.In the station list of the BVG the station bears the designation Tm. In the construction of the station, the possibility of interchange to line U5 has been taken into account. For this, a tunnel and platform was constructed but not used. To facilitate changing to buses, a central exit was subsequently built in the area of the U5 platform, which comes to the surface on the south side of Turmstraße. The train station is 675 meters from Birkenstraße and 919 meters from Hansaplatz. The station is under the Kleiner Tiergarten park between Turmstraße and Alt-Moabit. The costs amounted to 1.8 million euros. In the immediate vicinity of the underground station is the operating school underground of the BVG and the control center for monitoring and switching the driving current in the subway network.

Kleiner Tiergarten ("Small Tiergarten") is a park in Moabit, Berlin, Germany.

Moabit (German: [moaˈbiːt] (listen)) is an inner city locality in the borough of Mitte, Berlin, Germany. As of 2016, around 77,000 people lived in Moabit. First inhabited in 1685 and incorporated into Berlin in 1861, the former industrial and working-class neighbourhood is fully surrounded by three watercourses, which define its present-day border. Between 1945 and 1990, Moabit was part of the British sector of West Berlin and directly bordered East Berlin. Until the administrative reform in 2001, Moabit was a part of the district of Tiergarten. Colloquially, the name Moabit also refers to the Central Criminal Court (Strafgericht) and detention centre, which deals with all criminal cases in Berlin and is based in Moabit.

The Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT) (translated as "Berlin University of Applied Sciences and Technology") is the second largest University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Germany. There are around 12 000 students studying at BHT in more than 70 majors and 795 employees, under which there are 291 professors and 43 guest lecturers.It was formerly known as Technische Fachhochschule Berlin or TFH Berlin. From 2009 until 2021, it was named Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin, after Christian Peter Wilhelm Beuth. Due to Beuth's antisemitic history, the name was changed to the Berliner Hochschule für Technik, effective 1 October 2021.
