Belmont, Harrow

Belmont was a station in Belmont, north-west London on the Stanmore branch line. It was opened on 12 September 1932 by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway as the only intermediate station on a short branch line (opened in 1890) running north from Harrow & Wealdstone to Stanmore, in anticipation of the Metropolitan Railway opening its own branch line to a new Stanmore station (now served by the Jubilee line) the same year. Belmont station was rebuilt with a central island platform and a passing loop. The rebuilt station opened on 5 July 1937. The station was located on the north side of Kenton Lane to the west of Belmont Circle. From the perspective of the branch line, the connection to the main line was north-facing, i.e. away from central London. Hence the branch line could not take direct commuter services from the city, limiting its operation to a shuttle service. The direct service provided by the Metropolitan offered strong competition to the L&NWR station at Stanmore and passenger services beyond Belmont were ended on 15 September 1952, though a daily freight train served the goods yard at Stanmore. The passing loop was removed in 1955. The line to Stanmore was closed completely on 6 July 1964, as part of the railway cuts implemented under the Beeching Axe. Passenger services from Belmont to Harrow were withdrawn on 5 October 1964. The track was lifted in 1966 and the station site is now occupied by a car park.

The Stanmore branch line was a railway line in Harrow, Middlesex (now Greater London), in the United Kingdom. Located to the north of London, it provided commuter rail services between Harrow and the village of Stanmore. Beginning at Harrow station (now called Harrow & Wealdstone), the line split off from the West Coast Main Line and followed a short 2.12-mile (3.41 km) route to Stanmore. The branch had two stations on the line, Stanmore Village and Belmont (opened later). It was built and promoted by the Harrow and Stanmore Railway, a company owned by local hotel owner Frederick Gordon, and operated by the London and North Western Railway company (LNWR). The line was closed in 1964 during the Beeching axe and today the route only exists as a rail trail footpath and cycle route. The empty platform for the branch line is still visible today at Harrow and Wealdstone station.

Harrow East is a constituency created in 1945 and represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Bob Blackman, a Conservative.

Harrow Skate Park or Harrow Solid Surf is one of only two remaining 1970's shotcrete skateparks still operating in the United Kingdom. It is located next to Byron Park and Harrow Leisure Centre in Wealdstone in the London Borough of Harrow, England. Primarily because of its age and design, it is one of the most noted skateparks in the UK and is favourably compared to other classic seventies skatepark designs such as Marina del Rey (Los Angeles) and "Pipeline" (Upland, California) in the US.

Royal Air Force Stanmore Park or more simply RAF Stanmore Park is a former Royal Air Force station in Stanmore, Middlesex (now the London Borough of Harrow).

Stanmore Village railway station was a station in Stanmore, Middlesex in the south of England (now in Greater London). Originally called simply Stanmore, it was opened on 18 December 1890 by the Harrow and Stanmore Railway, a company owned by the hotel millionaire Frederick Gordon, as the terminus of the Stanmore branch line, a short branch line running north from Harrow & Wealdstone. Trains were operated by the London & North Western Railway (LNWR). The station was located on the south side of the junction of Gordon Avenue and Old Church Lane (the section north of the junction was originally named Station Road), and was noted for its architectural style, designed to resemble a village church, including a short spire. It closed to passenger traffic in 1952.

Hendon was a rural district in Middlesex, England from 1894 to 1934. The rural district was established in 1894 under the Local Government Act 1894, consisting of the following parishes: The parish of Hendon became an urban district in the same act. By the 1930s it had become increasingly urbanised, and under the review caused by the Local Government Act 1929, was abolished. It went to form the Harrow urban district, with the parish of Edgware having become part of the Municipal Borough of Hendon in 1932.

The Seven Balls is a Grade-II-listed public house at Kenton Lane, Harrow Weald, London.The timber-framed building is probably 17th century, but with later additions.The pub has recently undergone a renovation which was completed in June 2019 and has been re-branded as The Seven Harrow.

Stanmore College is a small college for further education in the London Borough of Harrow. It was established in 1987 as one of the borough's three tertiary colleges, originally called Elm Park College. In 1994 it was renamed to its present name to facilitate closer representation to the local community of Stanmore. The college was rated 'Good' by Ofsted in 2017 and its self assessment rated it 'Outstanding' in 2020. As of 2020 there were 2,500 learners, of which 1,500 were on full-time 16-18 study programmes. Students are recruited locally and beyond including a significant amount from Brent, Barnet and Hertfordshire.

St. John the Evangelist's Church, Great Stanmore is an Anglican church located in Great Stanmore (now simply Stanmore), Harrow, Middlesex. The name has been held by two churches: a red-brick church dating to 1632, now abandoned and in ruins, and its replacement, a stone church dating to 1850, which remains in use. Both buildings are separately Grade II* listed.

Park High School is a coeducational 11–18 Academy in Stanmore, London, England. It is located next to Centenary Park.The school converted to academy status in 2011, having previously been a community school under the direct control of Harrow London Borough Council. The school continues to coordinate with Harrow London Borough Council for admissions. Park High School offers GCSEs, OCR Nationals and A Levels as programmes of study for pupils.

Wealdstone () is a district located in the centre of the London Borough of Harrow, England. It is located just north of Harrow town centre and is south of Harrow Weald, west of Belmont and Kenton, and east of Headstone. The area accommodates most of Harrow's industrial and business designated land. Wealdstone was the location of the Kodak Harrow factory; it closed in 2016. Wealdstone is centred on the High Street, and much traffic is bypassed from here by the George Gange Way flyover built in 1996. Its western boundary is formed by Harrow View, across which Headstone Manor lies, whereas on the east is Byron Park and the Belmont Trail. Harrow & Wealdstone station and the council offices are located at its southern end.
