Studia Academica Slovaca – the centre for Slovak as a foreign language (SAS) is a specialised department at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava, teaching foreigners the Slovak language. It also regularly prepares the summer school. The first summer school was held in Bratislava in 1965.

Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovak: Univerzita Komenského v Bratislave) is the largest university in Slovakia, with most of its faculties located in Bratislava. It was founded in 1919, shortly after the creation of Czechoslovakia. It is named after Jan Amos Comenius, a 17th-century Czech teacher and philosopher. In 2020, Comenius University had more about 23,000 students and 2,500 faculty members. As are most universities in Slovakia, it is funded mostly by the government.

The Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic (Slovak: Ministerstvo vnútra Slovenskej republiky) is a government ministry of Slovakia. Since 25 October 2023, the current minister is Matúš Šutaj Eštok. From 15 May 2023 until 25 October 2023 the Minister of the Interior has been Ivan Šimko. Roman Mikulec was minister from March 2020 to May 2023, and in the previous 2018–2020 government the department was headed by Denisa Saková.

Starý most (English: Old Bridge) is a bridge over the river Danube in Bratislava, Slovakia. Before its reconstruction, the 460-meter-long (1,510 ft) bridge included a wooden pathway for pedestrians, a two-lane road, and a railway track, connecting the historic old city of Bratislava with the newer region Petržalka. The bridge was closed for cars in 2009 and for buses on 14 May 2010. On 2 December 2013 it was also closed for pedestrian and bicycle traffic as deconstruction of the old bridge began. At the time of its closure it was the oldest standing bridge in Bratislava. As of December 2015, the bridge was replaced by a new one for pedestrians, cyclists and trams, as part of new tram track to Petržalka. At various times in the past, the bridge was called Most Červenej armády (i.e. Red Army Bridge), Štefánikov most, Ferenc József híd and Franz Josef Brücke.

The Church of St. Elizabeth (Slovak: Kostol svätej Alžbety, Hungarian: Szent Erzsébet templom), commonly known as Blue Church (Modrý kostolík, Kék templom), is a Hungarian-Secessionist (Jugendstil, Art Nouveau) Catholic church located in the eastern part of the Old Town in Bratislava, present-day Slovakia. It is consecrated to Elisabeth of Hungary, daughter of Andrew II, who grew up in the Pressburg Castle (Pozsonyi vár). It is referred to as "The Little Blue Church" because of the colour of its façade, mosaics, majolicas and blue-glazed roof. It was initially part of the neighboring gymnázium (high school) and served as the school chapel.

Gamča (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈɡamtʂa]), today officially Gymnázium, Grösslingová 18, Bratislava, is a public coeducational gymnasium located in Bratislava, Slovakia. It educates around 600 pupils in 8-year long and 4-year long programs leading to Maturita. It was founded in 1626 by Peter Cardinal Pazmáň (Péter Pázmany) as Collegium Posoniense. Gamča's focus on mathematics, natural sciences and computer sciences brought 56 of its students to successfully represent Slovakia (Czechoslovakia) at the International Mathematical Olympiad, 26 students at the International Physics Olympiad and 14 at the International Olympiad in Informatics in the past 35 years. Since 1988, the school's popular "Olympic games", OH Gamča, are held annually.

The Slovak National Museum (Slovak: Slovenské národné múzeum) is the most important institution focusing on scientific research and cultural education in the field of museology in Slovakia. Its beginnings "are connected with the endeavour of the Slovak nation for national emancipation and self-determination".It is headquartered in Bratislava, however, the Slovak National Museum governs 18 specialized museums, most of which are located outside the city.

Eurovea is a business, retail and residential complex in Bratislava, Slovakia, in the Pribinova Zone at the border of Old Town and the borough or Ružinov, between the Old Bridge and the Apollo Bridge, bordered by Pribinova street from the north and the river Danube from the south. Eurovea connects the Bratislava Riverfront with the city center and offers stores and leisure time facilities while housing businesses, apartments and a Sheraton hotel. Phase I of the Eurovea complex was developed by Ballymore Properties at the cost of €350 million and it opened after four years of construction in 2010.Eurovea Phase II will feature the first skyscraper Eurovea Tower in Slovakia with projected height of 168 meters and 46 floors above the ground with the whole investment estimated at approximately €300 million. Construction is scheduled to start at the end of 2019 and finish at the end of 2022. As of June 2023 the Eurovea tower is shortly before completion.

Arena Theatre (Slovak: Divadlo Aréna) is one of the oldest theatres in Bratislava. It was established in 1828 on the right bank of Danube. In the beginning it served as an open summer amphitheatre, hence the name Arena. The current building was built in 1898. From its establishment till the end of the Second World War, many Hungarian, Austrian and German theatre companies performed there. After the war, the theatre was gradually closed and served as a storehouse for state-owned Slovak Television. The theatre was revived by a group of people around mime artist Milan Sládek, opening performance took place in 1997. The repertoire consisted of several pantomimic performances, an annual pantomimic festival took place there. In 2003, renowned Slovak actor Juraj Kukura became managing director and focus of the theatre shifted to drama. Performance The Goat or Who is Sylvia? was nominated for DOSKY Award 2004 in categories best performance and best director, Juraj Kukura and Emília Vášáryová won the categories for best actor/actress. A year later, monodrama Tiso was voted the best performance. Marián Labuda, who was performing Jozef Tiso, won the prize for best actor.

The Manderlák Building (Slovak: Obchodný a obytný dom Manderla) is a high-rise residential building in Bratislava, Slovakia. Standing at 45 metres (147 ft) tall with 11 floors and built between 1934 and 1935, the construction was the first-ever high-rise building in Slovakia and the tallest in the country between 1935 and 1967.

The Bratislava International School of Liberal Arts (BISLA), located in the Old Town of Bratislava, Slovakia, is the first liberal arts college in Central Europe. A private, accredited three-year degree-granting undergraduate institution, it opened in September 2006.

Astorka Korzo '90 Theatre (Slovak: Divadlo Astorka Korzo '90) is a theatre in the Slovak capital of Bratislava, founded on 1 April 1991.
