Zábiedovo (Hungarian: Zábidó) is a village and municipality in Tvrdošín District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

Brezovica (Polish: Brzozowica) is a village and municipality in Tvrdošín District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

Carpathian Wooden Churches is the name of a UNESCO World Heritage Site that consists of nine wooden religious buildings constructed between the 16th and 18th centuries in eight different locations in Slovakia. They include two Roman Catholic (Hervartov, Tvrdošín), three Protestant (so-called Articular churches in Hronsek, Leštiny, Kežmarok) and three Greek Catholic churches (Bodružal, Ruská Bystrá, Ladomirová) plus one belfry in Hronsek. In addition to these churches there are about 50 more wooden churches in the territory of present-day Slovakia mainly in the northern and eastern part of the Prešov Region (see e.g. this map).

Tvrdošín (German: Turdoschin or Thurdossin; Hungarian: Turdossin; Polish: Twardoszyn) is a town in central Slovakia.

Tvrdošín District (okres Tvrdošín) is a district in the Žilina Region of central Slovakia. The district was first established in 1996; in 1923 it had been a part of Trstená District.

The Roman Catholic Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Tvrdošín, region Orava, Slovakia. Original wooden church was built in first half of 17th century. The church was burned down few times. Current walled Most Holy Trinity Church was begun to build on 24 May 1766. From the original wooden church, only a tower (from 1628), a middle choir, an oratory and a sanctuary remained. The church was sanctified on 2 June 1770 on Most Holy Trinity day. During the Second World War the church was targeted by mines. East part of roof was damaged, also the baroque altar. Innovation of left side baroque main altar was realized after 1945 by academic artist Ctibor Belan cooperate with benched master Jan Rakyta. The church contains a monumental late-baroque altar, the Marian column (from late 18th century), the Sculpture of Saint John of Nepomuk (from late 18th century), and a folk sculpture of Saint Florian (from second half of 18th century).

Liesek (Hungarian: Ljeszek) is a village and municipality in Tvrdošín District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.

Čimhová (Hungarian: Csimhova, Polish: Czymhowa) is a village and municipality in Tvrdošín District in the Žilina Region of the northern Slovakia. It has over 600 inhabitants and lies on the banks of Oravica river, in the Orava Basin, near the Slovak-Polish border.

Chyżne [ˈxɨʐnɛ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Jabłonka, within Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland, close to the border with Slovakia. It lies approximately 6 kilometres (4 mi) south of Jabłonka, 33 km (21 mi) west of Nowy Targ, and 100 km (62 mi) south of the regional capital Kraków.The village lies in the drainage basin of the Black Sea (through Orava, Váh and Danube rivers), in the historical region of Orava (Polish: Orawa).
