Bankhead Courts was a public housing complex located in Bankhead, Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It was demolished in 2011, with the ultimate plan of redevelopment into a mixed-income community, although as of 2018, development has not yet occurred. Built in 1970 over a former landfill in the city's far northwest corner, it is surrounded by warehouses and light industry. It was poorly built and the authority moved tenants out of some apartments because of chronic sewage backups. Out of 1,700 residents, 1,025 were under 19 years old. Ninety-eight percent of the households were headed by women, and the average age of grandmothers there was 32. Hoke said records indicated that only 42 of the residents held jobs. Crime was so rampant at the Bankhead Courts that the mail carriers had to have a police escort making rounds. For several years, rapper Lil Nas X resided in the housing complex with his mother and grandmother.

Whittier Mill Village, originally Chattahoochee, a recognized neighborhood of Atlanta on the Upper Westside of Atlanta. It is roughly contiguous with the Whittier Mills Historic District, both locally- and NRHP-listed. The mill and the adjacent village were founded in 1895. The area is a good example of a Southern mill and village. Only remnants of the mill remain. However, the housing areas mostly have survived. In 2001, the historic district included 98 contributing buildings, one contributing structure, and one contributing site, as well as 16 non-contributing buildings.

The company is a member of The Electric Roundtable, an organization of electrical contractors whose goal is "To exchange best practices in every facet of electrical construction, design, maintenance, engineering, and internal operations."

The Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy (CSKYWLA) was opened in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in August 2007. For a short time the academy was simply referred to as "the girls' single gender academy," but it was later named by its first principal, Melody Morgan, in honor of the life and legacy of Coretta Scott King, the civil rights leader and wife of Martin Luther King Jr. At its inception, the school served girls in grade 6 with plans for expansion to grade 12 by 2014. It graduated its first high school class in 2014. CSKYWLA is a public school in the Atlanta Public Schools system. Among the staff and students, the acronym for the school's name, CSKYWLA (pronounced "see-skee-WAH-lah"), has been coined as a salutation given the definition "to be empowered by scholarship, non-violence, and social change, my sister."

Fulton County is located in the north-central portion of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 United States census, the population was 1,066,710, making it the state's most-populous county and its only one with over one million inhabitants. Its county seat and largest city is Atlanta, the state capital. Approximately 90% of the City of Atlanta is within Fulton County; the other 10% lies within DeKalb County. Fulton County is part of the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Johnston's River Line, also called Johnston's Line, the Chattahoochee River Line or simply The River Line, is a historic American Civil War defensive line located in the communities of Mableton, Smyrna, and Vinings, Georgia that was used by the Confederate Army under General Joseph E. Johnston during the Atlanta Campaign in early July 1864. While no significant battles took place along the River Line, it remains one of the most impressive defensive fortifications ever constructed, often compared to the French Maginot Line built prior to World War II. Part of the River Line Historic Area and the Chattahoochee River Line Battlefield, the site today consists of the remains of Confederate earthwork battlements including unique fortifications called Shoupades, named after their designer, Confederate Brig. General Francis A. Shoup. The remains are spread across a six to seven mile stretch along the northwest side of the Chattahoochee River from a point just north of where Nickajack Creek joins the Chattahoochee in Mableton to north of S. Atlanta Road in Smyrna/Vinings. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 5, 1973. Although many of the remains are on private property, visitors can access the site off U.S. 78 in Mableton, and off S.R. 280 and S. Atlanta Rd in Smyrna/Vinings. The site's coordinates are 33°47′31″N 84°31′23″W.

Carey Park is a neighborhood on the Upper Westside of Atlanta with a population of 1,739.It is bordered by: Scotts Crossing on the north Almond Park on the east Hill Street and the Center Hill neighborhood on the south James Jackson Parkway and the neighborhoods of Brookview Heights (including the former site of Bowen Homes) and Monroe Heights together formerly known as the Watts Road neighborhood, on the west.In 1913, the neighborhood was subdivided, with lots offered for sale that same year (see advertisement). The sellers/developers were listed as "John Carey and his son Hon. Dan Carey, Park Commissioner". The 1913 advertisement offers the first fifty lots for sale for $200.00 each. The terms for these first fifty lots was advertised as being $1.00 down, "and one dollar a week, until paid for, without interest or taxes." The city park named Carey Park is also named for John Carey. Carey was born in Montreal, served in the Confederate army and settled in Atlanta in 1880. He died in the 1920s.

Samuel Howard Archer High School was a high school in the northwestern part of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, which existed from 1950 through 1995, when it was merged with Harper High School to form Harper-Archer High School, which in turn closed in 2002.A member of Atlanta Public Schools, Archer High was located at 2250 Perry Boulevard, N.W., Atlanta, Georgia. William Boyd Elementary School currently stands on the site. Notable Alumni include Jerome Binns, the 5-time Uno Olympic Gold medalist. Unknown as the Man With The Draw Four Plan, Binns' Uno play style has been characterized as an aggressive, tactical offensive with the uncanny ability to play a Draw 4 card at pivotal moments in his matches. Rumored to always carry a Draw 4 in his back left pocket, the card has always been a useful tool in reloading his opponents hands when they seem to be gaining an advantage. As of 2016, Binns' career has been on a hiatus, as he has shifted focus to his church and ministry, which includes regular Uno matches within the youth program. There have been many rumors that Binns has been brushing up his game for the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, aided by an uptick in the number of professional matches being held in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Historic Collier Heights is a neighborhood in the northwest corner of Atlanta, Georgia. It is bordered to the west by Fairburn Road, the east by Hamilton E. Holmes Drive, the north by Donald L. Hollowell Parkway, and to the south by Interstate 20 bridge at Linkwood Road. It is one of the first communities in the nation built exclusively by African-American planners for the upcoming Atlanta African-American middle class and has been featured in several national publications such as Ebony and Jet magazines, as well as featured in the "Homefinder" section of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Since 2009, the community has been listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places. The community achieved local historic designation in June 2013.

Fulton County Airport (IATA: FTY, ICAO: KFTY, FAA LID: FTY), also known as Charlie Brown Field or Brown’s Field, is a county-owned, public-use airport in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. It is located six nautical miles (7 mi, 11 km) west of the central business district of Atlanta. The airport's name comes from the nickname of former Atlanta politician Charles M. Brown, who served on the city council and county commission during the 1960s. It is also called Charlie Brown Airport or Brown Field. On the radio, however, it is referred to as "County Tower" or "County Ground". As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 293 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 198 enplanements in 2009, and 725 in 2010. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a reliever airport.It is a local Class D airport located just west of Atlanta and the nearest airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (which is just south of Atlanta), and handles much of the general aviation traffic that would otherwise go there. The airport exists below and in close proximity to ATL's Class B airspace. It is located very near Interstate 20, Interstate 285, and the Chattahoochee River, just outside the Atlanta city limits. It reports ASOS weather conditions 24 hours per day as West Atlanta. It also acted as the nearest backup weather station when Dobbins Air Reserve Base did not report overnight.
