Carey Park is a neighborhood on the Upper Westside of Atlanta with a population of 1,739.It is bordered by: Scotts Crossing on the north Almond Park on the east Hill Street and the Center Hill neighborhood on the south James Jackson Parkway and the neighborhoods of Brookview Heights (including the former site of Bowen Homes) and Monroe Heights together formerly known as the Watts Road neighborhood, on the west.In 1913, the neighborhood was subdivided, with lots offered for sale that same year (see advertisement). The sellers/developers were listed as "John Carey and his son Hon. Dan Carey, Park Commissioner". The 1913 advertisement offers the first fifty lots for sale for $200.00 each. The terms for these first fifty lots was advertised as being $1.00 down, "and one dollar a week, until paid for, without interest or taxes." The city park named Carey Park is also named for John Carey. Carey was born in Montreal, served in the Confederate army and settled in Atlanta in 1880. He died in the 1920s.

The Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy (CSKYWLA) was opened in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in August 2007. For a short time the academy was simply referred to as "the girls' single gender academy," but it was later named by its first principal, Melody Morgan, in honor of the life and legacy of Coretta Scott King, the civil rights leader and wife of Martin Luther King Jr. At its inception, the school served girls in grade 6 with plans for expansion to grade 12 by 2014. It graduated its first high school class in 2014. CSKYWLA is a public school in the Atlanta Public Schools system. Among the staff and students, the acronym for the school's name, CSKYWLA (pronounced "see-skee-WAH-lah"), has been coined as a salutation given the definition "to be empowered by scholarship, non-violence, and social change, my sister."

Samuel Howard Archer High School was a high school in the northwestern part of Atlanta, Georgia, United States, which existed from 1950 through 1995, when it was merged with Harper High School to form Harper-Archer High School, which in turn closed in 2002.A member of Atlanta Public Schools, Archer High was located at 2250 Perry Boulevard, N.W., Atlanta, Georgia. William Boyd Elementary School currently stands on the site. Notable Alumni include Jerome Binns, the 5-time Uno Olympic Gold medalist. Unknown as the Man With The Draw Four Plan, Binns' Uno play style has been characterized as an aggressive, tactical offensive with the uncanny ability to play a Draw 4 card at pivotal moments in his matches. Rumored to always carry a Draw 4 in his back left pocket, the card has always been a useful tool in reloading his opponents hands when they seem to be gaining an advantage. As of 2016, Binns' career has been on a hiatus, as he has shifted focus to his church and ministry, which includes regular Uno matches within the youth program. There have been many rumors that Binns has been brushing up his game for the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, aided by an uptick in the number of professional matches being held in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Center Hill is a neighborhood located in northwest Atlanta, Georgia with a population of 4,741. Center Hill is located between Donald L. Hollowell Highway, Hamilton E. Holmes Drive, and Simpson Road. Center Hill is a neighborhood in Atlanta, Georgia. Many retirees live in Center Hill and residents tend to be liberal.

Whittier Mill Village, originally Chattahoochee, a recognized neighborhood of Atlanta on the Upper Westside of Atlanta. It is roughly contiguous with the Whittier Mills Historic District, both locally- and NRHP-listed. The mill and the adjacent village were founded in 1895. The area is a good example of a Southern mill and village. Only remnants of the mill remain. However, the housing areas mostly have survived. In 2001, the historic district included 98 contributing buildings, one contributing structure, and one contributing site, as well as 16 non-contributing buildings.

Historic Collier Heights is a neighborhood in the northwest corner of Atlanta, Georgia. It is bordered to the west by Fairburn Road, the east by Hamilton E. Holmes Drive, the north by Donald L. Hollowell Parkway, and to the south by Interstate 20 bridge at Linkwood Road. It is one of the first communities in the nation built exclusively by African-American planners for the upcoming Atlanta African-American middle class and has been featured in several national publications such as Ebony and Jet magazines, as well as featured in the "Homefinder" section of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Since 2009, the community has been listed on the United States National Register of Historic Places. The community achieved local historic designation in June 2013.
