The Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy (CSKYWLA) was opened in Atlanta, Georgia, United States in August 2007. For a short time the academy was simply referred to as "the girls' single gender academy," but it was later named by its first principal, Melody Morgan, in honor of the life and legacy of Coretta Scott King, the civil rights leader and wife of Martin Luther King Jr. At its inception, the school served girls in grade 6 with plans for expansion to grade 12 by 2014. It graduated its first high school class in 2014. CSKYWLA is a public school in the Atlanta Public Schools system. Among the staff and students, the acronym for the school's name, CSKYWLA (pronounced "see-skee-WAH-lah"), has been coined as a salutation given the definition "to be empowered by scholarship, non-violence, and social change, my sister."

Carey Park is a neighborhood on the Upper Westside of Atlanta with a population of 1,739.It is bordered by: Scotts Crossing on the north Almond Park on the east Hill Street and the Center Hill neighborhood on the south James Jackson Parkway and the neighborhoods of Brookview Heights (including the former site of Bowen Homes) and Monroe Heights together formerly known as the Watts Road neighborhood, on the west.In 1913, the neighborhood was subdivided, with lots offered for sale that same year (see advertisement). The sellers/developers were listed as "John Carey and his son Hon. Dan Carey, Park Commissioner". The 1913 advertisement offers the first fifty lots for sale for $200.00 each. The terms for these first fifty lots was advertised as being $1.00 down, "and one dollar a week, until paid for, without interest or taxes." The city park named Carey Park is also named for John Carey. Carey was born in Montreal, served in the Confederate army and settled in Atlanta in 1880. He died in the 1920s.

The company is a member of The Electric Roundtable, an organization of electrical contractors whose goal is "To exchange best practices in every facet of electrical construction, design, maintenance, engineering, and internal operations."

Hamilton E. Holmes, also known as H.E. Holmes, is a metro station in Atlanta, Georgia, the western terminus for the Blue Line in the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. This is one of the busiest stations in the MARTA system, handling an average of 22,000 boardings per weekday. When the station opened in 1979 it was originally named Hightower station after Hightower Road (Georgia 280), but both the road and the station were later renamed to honor civil rights movement hero Hamilton E. Holmes. The station primarily serves areas near the junction of Interstate 20 and Georgia 280 east of Adamsville.

Adamsville is a predominantly African-American neighborhood on the west side of city Atlanta, Georgia. It is located where Interstate 20 and Interstate 285 meet on the west side. The entertainers Killer Mike, Bone Crusher, A.K. Shay and Stevie-the-Steve-Man Corby came from Adamsville. The skating rink Cascade Skating Fun Center in the movie ATL is located in Adamsville. In the year 2000, the city of Atlanta parks and recreation department started construction on a new recreation center. It was finished in 2003 at the price of $13.1 million. The recreation center is known as the C.T. Martin Natatorium and Recreation Center. The 103,000-square-foot (9,600 m2) building features an indoor 50-meter pool and a gymnasium and is 10 times larger than the existing Adamsville Recreation Center. The new C.T. Martin Natatorium and Recreation Center was built on 9.42 acres (38,100 m2) of land. The recreation center also includes racquetball courts, offices, meeting space, a parking lot for 185 cars and a quarter-mile-long (400 m) walking trail circling the site.

Bankhead Courts was a public housing complex located in Bankhead, Atlanta, Georgia, United States. It was demolished in 2011, with the ultimate plan of redevelopment into a mixed-income community, although as of 2018, development has not yet occurred. Built in 1970 over a former landfill in the city's far northwest corner, it is surrounded by warehouses and light industry. It was poorly built and the authority moved tenants out of some apartments because of chronic sewage backups. Out of 1,700 residents, 1,025 were under 19 years old. Ninety-eight percent of the households were headed by women, and the average age of grandmothers there was 32. Hoke said records indicated that only 42 of the residents held jobs. Crime was so rampant at the Bankhead Courts that the mail carriers had to have a police escort making rounds. For several years, rapper Lil Nas X resided in the housing complex with his mother and grandmother.

Dixie Hills is a historic neighborhood of northwest Atlanta with a population of 1,756 (2010).It is bordered: on the north by Joseph E. Boone Blvd., across which are Center Hill and Grove Park on the east by Whitaker Circle and Anderson Ave., across which are West Lake on the south by I-20 across which is Florida Heights; and Penelope Neighbors on the west by the Harvel Homes Community and WesthavenIt has an active community with monthly neighborhood meetings and committee volunteers (a.k.a.
