Baix Empordà

Forallac is a village and municipality in the province of Girona and autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 49.97 square kilometres (19.29 sq mi) and the population in 2014 was 1,729. It includes the village of Peratallada.

Peratallada is a town in the municipality of Forallac, in the county of Baix Empordà, in Catalonia, Spain. It is located 22 km east of Girona. Its name is derived from pedra tallada, meaning 'carved stone'. Declared a historic-artistic monument, most of the buildings are built from stone carved from the fosse or moat which still encircles parts of this small fortified medieval town. The privately owned Castle of Peratallada is the dominant structure in the center of the town, with a 13th-century Romanesque church dedicated to Sant Esteve (Saint Stephen) outside the town walls. The castle has been documented as early as 1065 AD and it was restored as a luxury hotel in the 1960s. During restoration, traces of settlement were found that date back to the Bronze Age. Today, Peratallada is known for its beautiful old stone buildings, rutted stone streets and passageways. Its proximity to the beaches of the Costa Brava and its numerous restaurants, small boutique hotels and artists' galleries make it a popular destination. The 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves was partly filmed on location here. A festival – the Festa Major, is held every year in early August with concerts and activities and there is a medieval festival in the autumn.

Cruïlles is a village in the Baix Empordà, now part of the municipality of Cruïlles, Monells i Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, which is the administrative center and location of City Hall. It was its own municipality until 1973, when it merged with Monells and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura to form the current municipality. In 2005 it was the second most populated village in the municipality after Puigventós with 250 inhabitants.

Sant Miquel de Cruïlles is a Benedictine monastery in Cruïlles, Monells i Sant Sadurní de l'Heura, Catalonia, Spain. The 11th-century building, in First Romanesque style, was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural landmark in 1931.

Palau-sator is a village in the province of Girona within the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. The municipality covers an area of 12.37 square kilometres (4.78 sq mi), and included a population of 295 in 2018. Palau-sator lies on an inland stage of the GR 92 long distance footpath, between Torroella de Montgrí and Begur. The Rural Museum of Palau-sator was inaugurated in 1996, and features a collection of traditional farming equipment, carriages, carts, and tools that were once used by local farmers. There are also displays of chores and other items that may be found in rural farmhouses.

Cruïlles, Monells i Sant Sadurní de l'Heura is a Spanish municipality of the Province of Girona, situated in the comarca (county) of Baix Empordà (Catalonia), formed in 1973 by merging the municipalities of Cruïlles, Monells, and Sant Sadurní de l'Heura. Sant Sadurní is the capital of the municipality. According to the 2014 census, the municipality has a population of 1,284 inhabitants. The municipality has the longest toponym in Catalan at 43 characters.

Llofriu (name of Germanic origin) is an aggregate of the town of Palafrugell (Baix Empordà), in Catalonia, Spain. As of 2005, it has 294 inhabitants. The parish church of St. Fruitós, as mentioned in a testament from 1121, was dependent on the priory of Santa Anna of Barcelona until the seizure (first third of the nineteenth century). The economy is based primarily on agriculture and livestock, although the majority of its people work today in Palafrugell, the service sector.
