Valasaravakkam

Alapakkam (Tamil: [aːlappaːkkam]) is a neighbourhood in western part of Central Chennai. It belongs to Central Chennai Revenue Division of Chennai district. It is surrounded by Porur, Valasaravakkam and Maduravoyal. It is part of Chennai corporation under zone 11. Entry in to Alapakkam is through two main roads, that is, Arcot Road and Poonamallee High Road. Alapakkam belongs to Sriperumbudur Lok Sabha constituency and Maduravoyal assembly constituency.

It is an important residential area of and is famous for its schools, market, residential colonies and residences of film artists. Virugambakkam had some of Chennai's oldest film studios. Prior to the establishment of residential colonies, Virugambakkam was a village covered by paddy fields, mango orchards and casuarina trees. Buses running through Arcot Road link Virugambakkam with the more inner suburbs of Chennai city.

Porur (Tamil: [poːɾuːɾ]) is a neighbourhood of Chennai, India. It is situated in the Maduravoyal taluk of Chennai district in the southern part of the city. Since 2011, it has been a part of the Chennai Corporation and included in zone number 11.The earliest recorded history of Porur goes back to the Chola period when it served as the headquarters of an administrative division (nadu) called Perur Nadu. Porur Lake is the major source of fresh water for suburban areas such as Iyyapanthangal, Moulivakkam and Mangadu. Porur is also known for the Ramachandra Medical College. Porur houses Mono-pulse Secondary Surveillance radar, one of the two radars in the city, which aids air-transport communication.

Porur Junction metro station is an upcoming elevated metro station on the East-West Corridor of the Yellow Line of Chennai Metro in Chennai, India. This metro station will be among the 30 elevated stations of Corridor IV and 12 underground stations along Corridor IV of the Chennai Metro, Poonamallee Bypass–Lighthouse stretch. This station is slated to be commercialized on December 2025.

St. Anne's Church which was the substation of Ashok Nagar was established as a parish in 1999, with Rev Fr Philip Manathra as the first parish priest. The church and the parochial house were constructed in 2000 and 2002 respectively by Rev Fr Philip Manathra.

Maduravoyal Junction is an important junction in Chennai. It is located to the west of Koyambedu Junction at the intersection of National Highway 4 (India) (NH4) and Chennai Bypass.
