Vanagaram

Alapakkam (Tamil: [aːlappaːkkam]) is a neighbourhood in western part of Central Chennai. It belongs to Central Chennai Revenue Division of Chennai district. It is surrounded by Porur, Valasaravakkam and Maduravoyal. It is part of Chennai corporation under zone 11. Entry in to Alapakkam is through two main roads, that is, Arcot Road and Poonamallee High Road. Alapakkam belongs to Sriperumbudur Lok Sabha constituency and Maduravoyal assembly constituency.

Maduravoyal Junction is an important junction in Chennai. It is located to the west of Koyambedu Junction at the intersection of National Highway 4 (India) (NH4) and Chennai Bypass.

Maduravoyal noticed a rapid developed and sudden increase in property prices ever since the Maduravoyal Junction with the cloverleaf interchange (flyover) became operational.In January 2009, the then Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone for the Chennai Port – Maduravoyal Expressway, a 19-kilometre-long (12 mi) elevated express-way project by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Maduravoyal taluk is a taluk of the city district of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The centre of the taluk is the neighbourhood of Maduravoyal. The headquarters of the taluk is Ambattur division. On 4 January 2018, Chennai district was expanded by annexing Maduravoyal taluk.

Valasaravakkam is a neighbourhood in the Chennai district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and a residential suburb of the city of Chennai. It is located in the Poonamallee Taluk at a distance of approximately 15 kilometres from the Kilometer Zero stone. Valasaravakkam lies on the Arcot Road, one of Chennai's arterial roads. It is under the Maduravoyal election constituency. In October, 2011 Valasaravakkam Municipality ceased to exist and the area became part of Chennai Corporation as Ward Nos 149 and 152 (Zone XI), Southern Region, Corporation of Chennai. As of 2011, the town had a population of 47,378. Famous Sivan temple is in Kesavardhini.

Porur (Tamil: [poːɾuːɾ]) is a neighbourhood of Chennai, India. It is situated in the Maduravoyal taluk of Chennai district in the southern part of the city. Since 2011, it has been a part of the Chennai Corporation and included in zone number 11.The earliest recorded history of Porur goes back to the Chola period when it served as the headquarters of an administrative division (nadu) called Perur Nadu. Porur Lake is the major source of fresh water for suburban areas such as Iyyapanthangal, Moulivakkam and Mangadu. Porur is also known for the Ramachandra Medical College. Porur houses Mono-pulse Secondary Surveillance radar, one of the two radars in the city, which aids air-transport communication.

PMR Engineering College is one of the self-financing engineering colleges Affiliated to Anna University in Tamil Nadu started in the year 2008." It is located in Vanagaram, next to Maduravoyil. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education. It was founded by P.Muthuvelraj, Chairman.

Porur Junction metro station is an upcoming elevated metro station on the East-West Corridor of the Yellow Line of Chennai Metro in Chennai, India. This metro station will be among the 30 elevated stations of Corridor IV and 12 underground stations along Corridor IV of the Chennai Metro, Poonamallee Bypass–Lighthouse stretch. This station is slated to be commercialized on December 2025.
