Macclesfield Forest and Wildboarclough is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It lies on the western fringe of the Peak District National park. The population of the civil parish taken at the 2011 Census was 189.The parish is small, so there is no parish council; instead, the residents hold a periodic Parish meeting. The area consists mainly of reservoirs, woodland, farmland, and moorland. There are no centres of population, only a few villages and hamlets, most notably Wildboarclough and Langley.

Wildboarclough ( WIL-bə-kluf) is a village in east Cheshire, England, in the civil parish of Macclesfield Forest and Wildboarclough within the Peak District National Park. Bilsborough states that the name arises from the rapid rise in levels of the Clough Brook after a heavy fall of rain, but Mills gives it as a deep valley (or clough) frequented by wild boar. According to old legend it was the place where the last wild boar in England was killed.From the nearby summit of Shutlingsloe (506 metres (1,660 ft)), which lies just to the north-west of the village, a wide panorama of the Cheshire Plain and the Peak District can be obtained. In clear conditions the view extends as far as the Mersey Estuary and the Welsh Clwydian Hills 40 miles (64 km) to the west, and the cooling towers of the power stations on the banks of the River Trent 50 miles (80 km) to the east. Nearby is the hamlet of Saltersford. The Peak District Boundary Walk runs through the village.

Crag Hall is a country house east of the village of Wildboarclough, Cheshire, England. It was built in 1815 by George Palfreyman, the owner of a textile printing works nearby. It has since been extended by the addition of large curved bow windows at each end of the entrance front. The house is constructed in brick-sized blocks of brown sandstone, with ashlar quoins and dressings. It is roofed in slate. The house is in two storeys. The entrance front has five bays. In the centre is a raised portico with four Ionic columns. It is approached from each side by a flight of steps. Its base is rusticated and contains three arched recesses. Above the portico is a window with an entablature. About the house, Figueirdo and Treuherz comment that "it has an imposing air of millstone grit solidity". The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. Associated with the house are three structures listed at Grade II: the gateway with its wing walls, the retaining wall to the garden terrace, and a wall and summer house in the garden.

Macclesfield Forest is an area of woodland, predominantly conifer plantation, located around 3 mi (5 km) south east of Macclesfield in the civil parish of Macclesfield Forest and Wildboarclough, in Cheshire, England. The existing woodland is the last substantial remnant of the Royal Forest of Macclesfield, a once-extensive ancient hunting reserve. The area also includes two reservoirs, Trentabank and Ridgegate. Macclesfield Forest lies on the western edge of the Peak District, within the South West Peak, and is partly inside the boundary of the National Park. The hills of Tegg's Nose and Shutlingsloe stand to the north west and south east, respectively; the moorland of High Moor lies to the south and the Goyt Valley lies to the west. Nearby villages include Langley and Wildboarclough.Macclesfield Forest is owned by United Utilities. Most of the woodland is designated a Site of Biological Importance, while part of the area including Trentabank Reservoir is a nature reserve managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust; the reserve contains a large heronry. Other wildlife includes a small herd of Red Deer. Recreational uses of the area include walking, orienteering, horse riding, cycling, mountain biking, fishing and bird watching.

It is an Anglican church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Macclesfield and the deanery of Macclesfield. Its benefice is combined with those of Jenkin Chapel, Saltersford and Holy Trinity, Rainow.

Allgreave is a village in Cheshire, England. It lies on the A54 (Buxton to Congleton) road, near to the border with Staffordshire. Allgreave Methodist Chapel is situated in a sharp bend of the A54. The Rose and Crown public house also stands on the main road.

Trentabank Reservoir is within Macclesfield Forest, partly in the Peak District National Park, in England, and is home to rich unimproved uplands and grasslands. The reservoir is surrounded mainly by coniferous plantations and is also home to about 22 pairs of herons. The Peak District Boundary Walk runs past the reservoir.

Lud's Church (sometimes written as Ludchurch) is a deep chasm penetrating the Millstone Grit bedrock created by a massive landslip on the hillside above Gradbach, Staffordshire, England. It is located in a wood known as Back Forest, in the Dark Peak, towards the southwest fringe of the Peak District National Park about 2.5 miles (4.0 km) west of the A53 between Leek and Buxton. Over 100 metres (328 ft) long and 18 metres (59 ft) deep, all but the upper third of the slope has slipped forward towards the River Dane. It is mossy and overgrown, wet and cool even on the hottest of days.

The Cat and Fiddle is a road in England between Buxton, Derbyshire and Macclesfield, Cheshire, named after the Cat and Fiddle Inn public house at its summit. Formed by parts of the A537, A54 and A53, it is famous for its scenic views across the Greater Manchester conurbation, the Peak District National Park and the Cheshire Plain, and for its many bends. It is extremely popular with motorcyclists, and is often classed as the most dangerous road in the United Kingdom.
