Sèvres (, French: [sɛvʁ] (listen)) is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 9.9 kilometres (6.2 miles) from the centre of Paris, in the Hauts-de-Seine department, Île-de-France region. The commune, which had a population of 23,251 as of 2018, is known for its famous porcelain production at the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, which was also where the Treaty of Sèvres (1920) was signed.

Lycée Jean Pierre Vernant is a senior high school/sixth-form college in Sèvres, Hauts-de-Seine, France, in the Paris metropolitan area. The school serves Sèvres, Chaville, Saint-Cloud, and Ville d'Avray.It was formerly known as the Lycée de Sèvres. As of 2016 it has 190 teachers and 1,972 students, with 1,522 secondary students and 450 in the superior (supérieur) level.

Hauts-de-Seine (French pronunciation: [o d(ə) sɛn] (listen); lit. 'Upper Seine') is a department in the Île-de-France region, Northern France. It covers Paris's western inner suburbs. It is bordered by Paris, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne to the east, Val-d'Oise to the north, Yvelines to the west and Essonne to the south. With a population of 1,624,357 (as of 2019) and a total area of 176 square kilometres (68 square miles), it is the second most highly densely populated department of France after Paris. It is the fifth most populous department in France. Its prefecture is Nanterre although Boulogne-Billancourt, one of its two subprefectures alongside Antony, has a larger population. Hauts-de-Seine is best known for containing the modern office, cinema and shopping complex La Défense, one of Grand Paris's main economic centres and one of Europe's major business districts. Hauts-de-Seine is one of the wealthiest departments in France; it has the second highest GDP per capita in France at €106,800 in 2020. Its inhabitants are called Altoséquanais (masculine) and Altoséquanaises (feminine) in French.

Ville-d'Avray (French pronunciation: [vil davʁɛ] (listen)) is a commune in the western suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 11.9 km (7.4 mi) from the centre of Paris. The commune is part of the arrondissement of Boulogne-Billancourt in the Hauts-de-Seine department. In 2019, it had a population of 11,225.

The International Bureau of Weights and Measures (French: Bureau international des poids et mesures, BIPM) is an intergovernmental organisation, through which its 59 member-states act together on measurement standards in four areas: chemistry, ionising radiation, physical metrology, and coordinated universal time. It is based in Saint-Cloud, Paris, France. The organisation has been referred to as IBWM (from its name in English) in older literature.

The Château de Saint-Cloud was a château in France, built on a site overlooking the Seine at Saint-Cloud in Hauts-de-Seine, about 5 kilometres (3 miles) west of Paris. On the site of the former palace is the state-owned Parc de Saint-Cloud. The château was expanded by Phillipe of France, Duke of Orléans in the 17th century, and by Marie Antoinette in the 1780s. After occupation by Napoleon I and Napoleon III, it was destroyed in 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War.

The Parc de Saint-Cloud, officially the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, is a domaine national (national estate), located mostly within Saint-Cloud, in the Hauts-de-Seine department, near Paris, France. The park, which covers 460 hectares (1,100 acres), was a nature reserve until 1923. It is considered one of the most beautiful gardens in Europe, and in 2005 the park was awarded Notable Garden status. On 9 November 1994 the park was classified as a Historic Monument. In 1999 a winter storm heavily damaged the park's forests. The park is operated as a domaine national under the French Ministry of Culture.

The canton of Saint-Cloud is an administrative division of the Hauts-de-Seine department in northern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Saint-Cloud.It consists of the following communes: Garches Marnes-la-Coquette Saint-Cloud Vaucresson Ville-d'Avray

The Manufacture nationale de Sèvres is one of the principal European porcelain factories. It is located in Sèvres, Hauts-de-Seine, France. It is the continuation of Vincennes porcelain, founded in 1740, which moved to Sèvres in 1756. It has been owned by the French crown or government since 1759, and has always maintained the highest standards of quality. Almost immediately, it replaced Meissen porcelain as the standard-setter among European porcelain factories, retaining this position until at least the 19th century. Its production is still largely based on the creation of contemporary objects today. It became part of the Cité de la céramique in 2010 with the Musée national de céramique, and since 2012 with the Musée national Adrien Dubouché in Limoges.

Internationale Deutsche Schule Paris (iDSP; French: École Allemande Internationale de Paris) is a German international school in Saint-Cloud, France, in the Paris metropolitan area. The school serves levels kindergarten through Sekundarstufe II.On 23 October 1958 the first stone for the school was laid. On 3 November of that year the school first opened in three YMCA-owned rooms in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, in proximity to Trocadéro. The school initially only had gymnasium classes. On 1 December 1959 the school moved into rented rooms in a villa in Neuilly-sur-Seine. The primary school opened on 1 March 1960. The primary classes were initially held in another location in the 16th arrondissement. In 1961 all levels of school moved to the current location, a villa in Saint-Cloud. The West German government had acquired the property.

The American School of Paris (ASP), established in 1946, is a coeducational, independent international school in Saint-Cloud, France, in the Paris metropolitan area. The school has over 800 students from pre-kindergarten to Grade 12 and post-Bac. Located on a private 10.5 acre (40,000+ m2) campus on the edge of Paris, ASP provides an American education to an international student body of more than 50 nationalities.
