Leeds was, from 1894 to 1912, a rural district in the administrative county of Yorkshire, West Riding, England. It comprised an area adjacent to, but not including, the City of Leeds. It was alternatively known as the Rural District of Leeds (Roundhay and Seacroft).

Unilever Leeds, in the north-east of Leeds off the A6120 Leeds Outer Ring Road, is a large cosmetics factory and research site of the Anglo-Dutch company Unilever that makes all of its deodorant products for the UK. It is the largest deodorants factory in Europe. The factory supplies the whole of Europe.

Seacroft is an outer-city suburb/township consisting mainly of council estate housing covering an extensive area of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It lies in the LS14 Leeds postcode area, around 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Leeds city centre. It sits in the Killingbeck & Seacroft ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds East parliamentary constituency. The population of the corresponding Leeds City Ward was nearly 18,000 in 2001 and fell to 14,426 in 2011. The name is often used as a catch-all for Seacroft and the neighbouring areas of Whinmoor and Swarcliffe, other large east Leeds council estates which merge into each other. Seacroft includes one of the largest council estates in the country and Yorkshire's second-largest council estate, after Bransholme in Kingston upon Hull. The latter, however, was part of Humberside county from 1974 to 1996. Because of its size, Seacroft has often been referred to as a town. The original vision, envisaged by the council, was that it would be a 'Town within the City Limits', and the Seacroft Civic Centre was often referred to as the 'Seacroft Town Centre'.

Bishop Young Church of England Academy (formerly known as David Young Community Academy) is a state-funded academy sponsored by the Church of England in Seacroft, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.The school was named after David Young (1931–2008), a former Bishop of Ripon. The school was established on 18 September 2006 with pupils from Agnes Stewart Church of England High School and Braim Wood for Boys High School. These schools had both been in difficulties at the time of their closures.In June 2009 it was announced by School Secretary Ed Balls that £3.3 million would be spent on the school to create a purpose-built base for army and air cadets.Bishop Young Academy is part of the Abbey Multi Academy Trust. As of 2023, the trust includes eight primary and secondary academies in the Diocese of Leeds.

East Leeds Family Learning Centre was a large Adult Education Centre in Seacroft, Leeds, England. The buildings were originally used as a secondary school, Foxwood School. The school is notable for its use for filming The Beiderbecke Trilogy between 1984 and 1988. Demolition of the buildings began in December 2009 and was completed early in 2010.

Foxwood School was a Comprehensive school in Seacroft, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1956 and closed 40 years later in 1996.

The Church of the St. James in Seacroft, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England is an active Anglican parish church in the archdeaconry of Leeds and the Diocese of Leeds. The church is Grade II listed.

Leeds East Academy (formerly Parklands Girls High School) is a secondary school with academy status, in the Seacroft area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The school was previously an all-girls school, being the last single-sex school in Leeds. Parklands Girls High School was particularly small for an urban secondary school with only around 350 pupils; it was this which suggested to Leeds City Council that segregated education was no longer popular and prompted them to make it a mixed school and it was renamed Parklands High School.The school is now an academy and has a partnership with Leeds West Academy and Leeds City Academy as part of The White Rose Academies Trust. Leeds West and Leeds East Academies were previously sponsored by E-ACT, however in 2014 the schools joined the White Rose Academies Trust with Leeds City College as their sponsor. The Trust are now part of the Luminate Education Group, which also oversees Leeds City College, Keighley College, and Harrogate College. The school moved to new buildings in April 2013.

Fearnville is a small area of Leeds which has boundaries with Roundhay, Seacroft, Oakwood, Gipton and Harehills. Fearnville is commonly described as being part of Roundhay or Oakwood, although it is classed as being in the Killingbeck and Seacroft ward. Fearnville had a population of 3,654 in 2011.

Seacroft Hospital is based in York Road in the area of Seacroft, Leeds, LS14 West Yorkshire, England and is operated by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Swarcliffe, originally the Swarcliffe Estate, is a district of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is 4.9 miles (8 km) east of Leeds city centre, and within the LS14 and LS15 Leeds postcode area. The district falls within the Cross Gates and Whinmoor ward of the Leeds Metropolitan Council. In the 1950s, the Swarcliffe housing estate was developed by the city council, which built two- and three-bedroomed semidetached council houses, a number of three-storey blocks containing 12 flats or more, and three brick-built nine-storey blocks of flats. Two of the blocks of flats were demolished in the 1990s, and an old people's home was built on the site. In 2007, the remaining block was demolished. The previous year, six of seven 15-storey high-rise blocks of flats, built in 1966 as part of the Whinmoor estate, were demolished. Swarcliffe is served by Swarcliffe Primary School and Nursery, Grimes Dyke Primary School, and St. Gregory's Youth and Adult Centre. Stanks Fire Station provides a service to more than 42,452 people. Swarcliffe has a dwindling number of public houses and shops. Great and Little Swarcliffe Woods lie within the boundaries of the estate. The area is being regenerated by Yorkshire Transformations, a private finance initiative, which is a partnership between Leeds City Council and two private-sector companies: Carillion and the Bank of Scotland. The MP for the Leeds East constituency from 1955 to 1992 was Denis Healey, who represented the Labour Party. He was succeeded by George Mudie MP. In 2009, the population of Swarcliffe and Stanks was 6,751, of which 4,544 were considered to be "hard-pressed", or experiencing financial difficulty.

Whinmoor is a residential area of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is 5 miles (8 km) to the north-east of the city centre and adjacent to Swarcliffe and Seacroft in the LS14 Leeds postcode area. Historically, the area was within the Tadcaster Rural District until 1974. It is today situated in the Leeds City Council ward of Cross Gates and Whinmoor and Leeds East parliamentary constituency.
