The Church of the Epiphany (also known as the Bishop Burroughs Memorial Church of the Epiphany) in Gipton, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England is an active Anglican parish church in the archdeaconry of Leeds and the Diocese of Leeds. The church is Grade I listed.

Gipton is a suburb of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, between the A58 to the north and the A64 to the south. It is in the Gipton and Harehills ward of Leeds City Council and the Leeds East parliamentary constituency. The separate area and woodland of Gipton Wood is in Oakwood, north of Harehills and part of the Roundhay ward. Gipton’s residents are known as Giptonites.

Bishop Young Church of England Academy (formerly known as David Young Community Academy) is a state-funded academy sponsored by the Church of England in Seacroft, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England.The school was named after David Young (1931–2008), a former Bishop of Ripon. The school was established on 18 September 2006 with pupils from Agnes Stewart Church of England High School and Braim Wood for Boys High School. These schools had both been in difficulties at the time of their closures.In June 2009 it was announced by School Secretary Ed Balls that £3.3 million would be spent on the school to create a purpose-built base for army and air cadets.Bishop Young Academy is part of the Abbey Multi Academy Trust. As of 2023, the trust includes eight primary and secondary academies in the Diocese of Leeds.

East Leeds Family Learning Centre was a large Adult Education Centre in Seacroft, Leeds, England. The buildings were originally used as a secondary school, Foxwood School. The school is notable for its use for filming The Beiderbecke Trilogy between 1984 and 1988. Demolition of the buildings began in December 2009 and was completed early in 2010.

Foxwood School was a Comprehensive school in Seacroft, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1956 and closed 40 years later in 1996.

Roundhay Garden Scene is a short silent motion picture filmed by French inventor Louis Le Prince at Oakwood Grange in Roundhay, Leeds, in northern England on 14 October 1888. It is believed to be the oldest surviving film. The camera used was patented in the United Kingdom on 16 November 1888.

Killingbeck is a district of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England named after the Killingbeck family, historic local landowners, and is situated between Seacroft to the north, Cross Gates and Whitkirk to the east, Gipton to the west, Halton Moor to the south, Halton to the south-east and Osmondthorpe to the south-west. It sits in the Killingbeck & Seacroft ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds East parliamentary constituency.

Wykebeck is an area of east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England named after the Wyke Beck and situated between Gipton and Seacroft along Wykebeck Road. The area falls within the Gipton and Harehills ward of the Leeds City Council. The area is seldom referred to, instead people usually perceive Gipton to be West of the beck and Seacroft to be East of it. The area consists of several blocks of highrise council flats to the south. Wykebeck Valley Road runs through the area, from York Road (A64) to Foundry Lane. Wykebeck Valley walking way passes to the north of the area.

Osmondthorpe was a railway station between Leeds and Cross Gates on the Leeds to York Line (part of the Cross Country Route). It was opened as Osmondthorpe Halt by the London and North Eastern Railway in September 1930 to serve new estates being built in the area. The station was of timber construction and was built without goods facilities. After May 1937, the word Halt was dropped from the station name.The station was closed in March 1960.

Roundhay is a large suburb in north-east Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Roundhay had a population of 22,546 in 2011.It sits in the Roundhay ward of Leeds City Council and Leeds North East parliamentary constituency.

On 28 April 2014, 61-year-old teacher Ann Maguire (5 April 1953 – 28 April 2014) was stabbed to death while teaching a Spanish lesson at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Halton Moor, Leeds, England. The perpetrator, William "Will" Cornick, who was 15 years old when he committed the murder, was sentenced to life with a minimum of 20 years at Leeds Crown Court on 3 November 2014.

Corpus Christi Catholic College is a co-educational secondary school located in Halton Moor, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The school currently has a roll of around 900 to 1,000 pupils. Around 50% of pupils achieve 5 A-C grades at GCSE.
