Carquefou (French pronunciation: [kaʁkəfu] ; Gallo: Carqefou, Breton: Kerc'hfaou) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique, department in the region Pays de la Loire, in western France.

L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is a private institution for technical education dedicated to the teaching of design. Founded in 1988, it has been managed by the Nantes-Saint Nazaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1991. Sainte-Luce-sur-Loire (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃t lys syʁ lwaʁ] (listen), literally Sainte-Luce on Loire; Breton: Santez-Lusenn-ar-Liger) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France. This commune is one of 24 communes that make up the intercommunality of Nantes Metropolis.

Château de Bois-Briand is a château located in Nantes, France. In 2008, the estate was listed as a "Monument National" by French Minister of Culture. This label was attributed thanks to three main considerations: the inspiring history of some landlords, the permanence of a consensual social life and the translation of this harmony into various gardens, buildings and botanical creations. The original castle was named Bois-Briant, Bois-Brient and Bois-Brillant. These names referred to a wood enlightened by sun because it was (still is) facing South. The medieval castle became a "château" when it was sold by Charette family to Le Meneust des Treilles family, in 1699. The medieval defensive "castle" transformed itself into a "maison de plaisance" where pleasure was associated to economic productions (wine and dry fruits for sailors). Such "châteaux", designed for pleasure were named "Folies" in "Pays de Nantes". In other parts of France, the term "Folies" was used mainly to designate monumental ornements in 18th century parks: false ruins (pyramids, obelisks), grottos, love-temples, friendship-temples and "laiteries". The street that led to the castle was named Avenue de Bois-Briant. Since its acquisition by the city of Nantes, Avenue du Bois-Briant became « rue du Bois-Briand ».

Hall XXL is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Nantes, France. Opened in August 2013, the arena is mainly used for exhibitions and sporting events.

Sucé-sur-Erdre (French pronunciation: [syse syʁ ɛʁdʁ] , literally Sucé on Erdre; Breton: Sulieg) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France. Its name comes from the Latin sulcus, meaning "furrow", and the Celtic erdam, meaning "small river". Sucé-sur-Erdre, as its name indicates, is located on the river Erdre, which at this point is near its confluence with the Loire. The town was fairly small (2,000 or so) for quite some time until it began to be absorbed into the greater suburbia of Nantes. As of 2019, it has about 7,200 inhabitants, a significant portion of which commute to Nantes. In general, the area is middle-class with a good portion of upper-middle class and upper-class homes, especially on the river banks. Sucé-sur-Erdre is relatively well known in the area for its scenic river landscapes, and its many water sports opportunities, including fishing, sailing, windsurfing in Mazerolles (Funboard44), kayaking, and water skiing. It has essentially no industry, the main employer is a large convalescence home. There are many shops (butcher, baker, etc...) and one small supermarket. Sucé-sur-Erdre has had few encounters with history, its greatest claim to fame being that the famous philosopher René Descartes spent some time there (although this is not very well documented). It has a few old houses, but the church is modern (late nineteenth century. There are many picturesque farm houses in the area, although they are disappearing quickly due to the accelerated modernization brought by the expansion of Nantes.

The Institut de Recherche en Communications et Cybernétique de Nantes (IRCCyN, English : Research Institute in Communications and Cybernetic of Nantes) is a scientific institution linked to the CNRS in France. Its purpose is to innovate in different fields such as robotics, automatic control, cognition, production theory and image processing. The IRCCyN is a dedicated center for the université de Nantes, the école des Mines de Nantes and the école centrale de Nantes where it is located.The IRCCyN was founded in 1958 by Professor Romane Mezencev and joined the CNRS in 1968. Michel Malabre is the director of the institute since 2008. The activity and results of the IRCCyN is evaluated every 5 years by the "High Council of Evaluation of Research and Higher Education" and the National Committee of Scientific Research.
