La Chapelle-sur-Erdre (French pronunciation: [la ʃapɛl syʁ ɛʁdʁ] (listen); Breton: Chapel-Erzh, [ˈʃapːɛlɛrs]) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France.

The École des Mines de Nantes, or École nationale supérieure des mines de Nantes (Mines Nantes) is a French high-level engineering school (grande école), part of the Institut Mines-Télécom. The school is based in Nantes, in the west of France. It was merged with Télécom Bretagne on 1 January 2017, and the new school's name is IMT Atlantique. L’École de design Nantes Atlantique is a private institution for technical education dedicated to the teaching of design. Founded in 1988, it has been managed by the Nantes-Saint Nazaire Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1991. The school is recognized by the State and is one of the two schools in its field to award a design degree which is certified by the French Ministry of Higher Education. . This degree is also registered in the Registre National des Certifications Professionnelles (the French directory for vocational qualifications) as a Level I Master's degree. L’École de design is a member of the Conférence des grandes écoles (top-tier French higher education institutions) and is also associated to the Université de Nantes. It is located in Nantes on the technological campus Atlanpole la Chantrerie and on the Ile de Nantes, as well as in Shanghai (China), Pune (India), São Paulo (Brazil) and Montréal (Canada). Its purpose is to innovate in different fields such as robotics, automatic control, cognition, production theory and image processing. The IRCCyN is a dedicated center for the université de Nantes, the école des Mines de Nantes and the école centrale de Nantes where it is located.The IRCCyN was founded in 1958 by Professor Romane Mezencev and joined the CNRS in 1968. Michel Malabre is the director of the institute since 2008. The activity and results of the IRCCyN is evaluated every 5 years by the "High Council of Evaluation of Research and Higher Education" and the National Committee of Scientific Research.

Sucé-sur-Erdre (French pronunciation: [syse syʁ ɛʁdʁ] , literally Sucé on Erdre; Breton: Sulieg) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France. Its name comes from the Latin sulcus, meaning "furrow", and the Celtic erdam, meaning "small river". Sucé-sur-Erdre, as its name indicates, is located on the river Erdre, which at this point is near its confluence with the Loire. The town was fairly small (2,000 or so) for quite some time until it began to be absorbed into the greater suburbia of Nantes. As of 2019, it has about 7,200 inhabitants, a significant portion of which commute to Nantes. In general, the area is middle-class with a good portion of upper-middle class and upper-class homes, especially on the river banks. Sucé-sur-Erdre is relatively well known in the area for its scenic river landscapes, and its many water sports opportunities, including fishing, sailing, windsurfing in Mazerolles (Funboard44), kayaking, and water skiing. It has essentially no industry, the main employer is a large convalescence home. There are many shops (butcher, baker, etc...) and one small supermarket. Sucé-sur-Erdre has had few encounters with history, its greatest claim to fame being that the famous philosopher René Descartes spent some time there (although this is not very well documented). It has a few old houses, but the church is modern (late nineteenth century. There are many picturesque farm houses in the area, although they are disappearing quickly due to the accelerated modernization brought by the expansion of Nantes.

Petit Port racecourse is located in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, France, in the Nantes Nord district. Inaugurated in 1875, this 35-hectare racecourse is open to gallop thanks to a 2,065-meter track made of grass and to trot thanks to a 1,411-meter pozzolan track with a rope at the left. Grandstands were built in 1972 and can accommodate 5,000 people. They are equipped with a panoramic restaurant with a capacity of 350 persons.
