Eydon Hall is a Palladian stately home near the village of Eydon, in Northamptonshire. It is a Grade I listed building, and is currently in use as a private residence.

Eydon Road Halt was a railway station on the link line between the Great Central Railway and the Great Western Railway's Birmingham - London line, leaving the Great Central at Culworth Junction to connect with Banbury Junction. The station opened in 1913 and closed in 1956.

Eydon is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, about 8 miles (13 km) north-east of Banbury. The village is between 510 and 540 feet (160 m) above sea level on the east side of a hill, which rises to 580 feet (180 m) and is the highest point in the parish. The parish is bounded to the west by the River Cherwell, to the south by a stream that is one of its tributaries, and to the east and north by field boundaries. The villages name means 'Aega's hill'.The 2011 Census recorded a parish population of 422.

West Farndon is a hamlet and deserted medieval village about 3⁄4 mile (1.2 km) southwest of Hinton, Northamptonshire, in the civil parish of Woodford cum Membris.

The Battle of Edgcote (also known as the Battle of Banbury or the Battle of Danes Moor) took place on 24 July 1469, during the Wars of the Roses. It was fought between a royal army, commanded by the earls of Pembroke and Devon, and a rebel force led by supporters of the Earl of Warwick. The battle took place 6 miles (9.7 km) northeast of Banbury in Oxfordshire; it resulted in a rebel victory which temporarily handed power over to the Earl of Warwick. By September, though, Edward IV of England was back in control, and Warwick found himself in a situation similar to the one before the battle, prompting him to plan a second rebellion. After Edgcote there was no turning back. Edward could no longer trust him fully and he was inexorably moving towards becoming a Lancastrian. Edgcote has a reputation for being one of the least well-documented battles of the period, though numerous contemporary, or near contemporary, records and chronicles refer to it. Details in accounts diverge in terms of numbers, leaders, casualties, and the course of the fighting, but not all of these "divergences" are contradictory. The heavy casualties suffered by Pembroke's Welsh forces made it a popular topic for Welsh poets.

Culworth is also about 7 miles (11 km) northeast of the north Oxfordshire town of Banbury. The village stands on the brow of a hill about 540 feet (160 m) above sea level. The 2011 Census recorded the parish's population as 445.

Woodford Halse Nature Reserve is a 5.7-hectare (14-acre) nature reserve south of Woodford Halse in Northamptonshire. It is managed by the Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.This site in two disused railway cuttings has some plant species which are rare in Northamptonshire. Over 100 flower species have been recorded, including knapweed and devil's bit scabious. There are birds such as fieldfare, redwing, wheatear, lesser whitethroat, yellowhammer and linnet.There is access by a footpath from Woodford Halse.

Woodford cum Membris is a civil parish in Northamptonshire, England. It includes the villages of Woodford Halse and Hinton and the hamlet of West Farndon. The 2011 Census recorded the parish population as 3,393.Since local government changes in 2021 it is part of West Northamptonshire. Before 2021 and after the 1974 reorganisation of local government, the parish had been part of the Daventry District. Before that it was part of Daventry Rural District.

Hinton is a village about 6.5 miles (10.5 km) south of Daventry in Northamptonshire. The village is the largest settlement in the civil parish of Woodford cum Membris, the others being the village of Woodford Halse and hamlet of West Farndon.

Thorpe Mandeville is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England about 6 miles (10 km) northeast of Banbury in neighbouring Oxfordshire. The hamlet of Lower Thorpe is just north of the village. The village's name means 'Outlying farm/settlement'. The village was held by Richard de Amundevill in 1252.The population of the parish has grown slowly over the centuries. It was recorded as 137 in the 1801 Census, 178 in the 1991 Census, 194 in the 2001 Census and 327 (including Edgcote) in the 2011 Census.

Edgcote is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Chipping Warden and Edgcote, in the West Northamptonshire district, in the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England. It is situated on the River Cherwell. The parish was bounded by the river to the north and by one of its tributaries to the east. The village is about 5.5 miles (9 km) north-east of Banbury in neighbouring Oxfordshire, and the south-western boundary of the parish formed part of the county boundary. In 2001 the parish had a population of 57.

Woodford Halse railway station stood on the Great Central Railway (GCR) main line, the last main line to be built from the north of England to London. The station opened with the line on 15 March 1899 under the name Woodford and Hinton and served the adjacent villages of Woodford Halse to the east and Hinton to the west, both in Northamptonshire. The station was renamed Woodford Halse on 1 November 1948.
