The Buchkogel, at 656 meters above sea level, is a hill in the Austrian state of Styria. It is located in the southern part of the Grazer Bergland in the west of the state capital Graz. The mixed forests within the Plabutsch ridge serve as a popular recreation area. Parts of the karstified hill were settled back in the Chalcolithic period and served for limonite mining during the Middle Ages and World War II. On the top there is the historical Kronprinz Rufolf observation tower built in 1879. The name Buchkogel is either derived from a lost castle (German Burg) or the extensive beech (German Buche) population.

Schöckl (also spelt Schöckel) is a mountain in the Austrian state of Styria. It is about 14 km north of the city center of Graz, the capital of Styria. There is a cableway to the summit from the nearby health resort of St Radegund.In 1931, the rocket designer Friedrich Schmiedl began a rocket mail service here, launching rockets to St Radegund.Schöckl Transmitter is situated on the mountain.

The Pilgrimage Church Maria Straßengel (German: Wallfahrtskirche Maria Straßengel) is a fourteenth century Gothic church located on a hill overlooking the market town of Judendorf-Straßengel in the district of Graz-Umgebung, a few kilometres northwest of Graz, Austria on the right bank of the Mur river. The town was first mentioned in the year AD 860 as Strazinolum.The fourteenth century Gothic pilgrimage church was constructed between 1346 and 1355, and contains an important high altar. Once surrounded by fortified walls and guarded by a three-story tower (1355–66) with elaborate stonemasonry, the church still retains 77 sections of its fourteenth century Gothic stained-glass windows. The original plans for the high altar in white marble (1885) were originally drawn by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach in 1687 but never carried out. The pilgrimage church contains a piece of tree root shaped like Jesus on the cross. This root is not displayed to the public, but shown to people on request.
