Baseball Ground

Ramsline Halt is a disused single-platform railway station in the Pear Tree area of Derby, England. It was opened by British Rail in 1990 to serve football specials bringing away supporters to the Baseball Ground, then the home stadium of Derby County F.C. The station cost £320,000 to build, partly funded by the Football Trust, but only four trains ever stopped there. In 1997 Derby County moved to the new Pride Park Stadium and Ramsline Halt closed. In spite of this, it remains in reasonable condition. There is no current access to it, but it can be seen from Osmaston Road. The station name board is now at the National Football Museum. The purpose of the station was to prevent crowd trouble and aid policing by keeping visiting supporters away from the main Derby station, the city centre and residential areas. The station was on a freight-only loop to the west of the main Derby-Birmingham line, between Derby and Peartree.

Pear Tree (or Peartree) is an inner city suburb of the city of Derby, in Derbyshire, England, located about 1.2 miles (1.9 km) south of the city centre. It is split between the Arboretum and Normanton electoral wards. Neighbouring areas include Litchurch, Normanton and Osmaston. The area became urbanised in the late 19th century and is characterised by terraced housing originally built for industrial workers.

Arboretum is an electoral ward in the city of Derby, England. It includes Derby city centre and the inner city suburbs of Pear Tree and Rose Hill, as well as part of Normanton. It covers much of the area of the historic township of Litchurch. The ward, which takes its name from Derby Arboretum in Rose Hill, had a population of 18,590 in 2011.

Peartree railway station is a railway station serving the areas of Pear Tree, Normanton and Osmaston in the city of Derby, England. It is one of three stations remaining open in the city (the others being the main Derby station and Spondon), and is situated about one mile south of Derby station on the main line to Birmingham New Street. For a short period, Derby - Birmingham local services called at Peartree, but it is now served by four trains each way on weekdays on the Crewe–Derby line, a community rail line also known as the North Staffordshire line. The station is owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Railway.

Litchurch is a historical area in the city of Derby, in Derbyshire, England. From Medieval times it was a rural township associated with Derby but outside the burgh boundary, before experiencing rapid urbanisation and population growth in the 19th century. After a brief existence as a self-governing local board area between 1866 and 1889, it was absorbed by the newly-created Derby county borough and has subsequently fallen into obscurity.

The 2012 Derby arson attack occurred on 11 May 2012 at 18 Victory Road, a semi-detached house in a residential street in Osmaston (erroneously reported by the press as being in Allenton), Derby, Derbyshire, England. Five children died at the scene, while the oldest later died in hospital. The parents of the children, Mairead and Mick Philpott, along with their friend Paul Mosley, were later arrested and charged with murder. In December 2012 their charges were downgraded to manslaughter. On 2 April 2013, Mick Philpott and Paul Mosley were found guilty by unanimous verdicts, while Mairead Philpott was found guilty by majority verdict.

Derby Litchurch Lane Works, formerly Derby Carriage and Wagon Works, is a railway rolling stock factory in Derby, England. It was opened in the 19th century by the Midland Railway. The plant has produced rolling stock under the ownership of the Midland Railway. It is now owned by Alstom.

St Andrew's Church, London Road was a parish church in the Church of England in Derby, Derbyshire. It was built between 1864 and 1867 and demolished in 1971.
