International School of Brno

Television studio Brno is a legally established regional studio of Czech Television in Brno. It was established in June 1961 as the third non-Prague studio of the then Czechoslovak Television (after Ostrava and Bratislava), and began broadcasting on July 6 of the same year with the live composed program Sedmikrásky nad Brnem. The studio was located in two buildings in the city center, since 2016 it has been broadcasting from a building in the outskirts of Brno-Líšeň. At the end of 2020, it had 237 employees. The Zlín newsroom and its staff also fall under the responsibility of the newsroom of Television Studio Brno.The studio does not have legal personality. However, its director is authorized by law to perform legal acts related to the studio, including the conclusion of contracts, on behalf of Czech Television, with the exception of dealing with real estate. The director is elected and recalled by the Council of Czech Television on the proposal of the director general of the entire institution. Since November 2023, Petr Albrecht is the director of Television Studio Brno.

Brno-Vinohrady (Hantec: Vincky) is a municipal district on the eastern side of Brno in the Czech Republic. The autonomous district was established on 24 November 1990. The population is 12,172 as of 2021.

Stránská skála is a hill and a national nature monument in Brno in the Czech Republic. It refers to a Mid-Pleistocene-Cromerian interglacial most important paleontological site in Central Europe.

Slatina is a city district of Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic. It is located in the eastern part of the city and is somewhat separated from other parts. Slatina became a part of Brno in 1919 and as of 2021, it has 11,104 inhabitants. Slatina has a well-preserved centre. The south of the district contains mostly modern houses, while the north of the district contains many panel houses built in the 1980s.

Kristek House (Czech: Kristkův dům) is a building on the corner of Tišnovská and Trávníky Streets in Brno, Czech Republic that was transformed into a monumental assemblage by the Czech sculptor, painter and action artist Lubo Kristek. Kristek created the work between 2015 and 2017.

Bílovice nad Svitavou is a municipality and village in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,800 inhabitants.

The Harok family murder took place in the early morning of 22 May 2013 when four members of the Harok family (Veronika Haroková, her husband Martin, and their sons Filip and David) were murdered in their home in Brno, in the Czech Republic.On 23 May 2013, the Czech police charged in absentia 20-year-old U.S. national Kevin Dahlgren, Veronika Haroková's cousin, with committing the quadruple murder.At the time he was charged, Dahlgren was on a flight bound for Washington, D.C.; he spent two years and three months in custody in the U.S., fighting extradition. He was extradited on 31 August 2015, becoming the first United States citizen extradited to the Czech Republic. Dahlgren, who denied responsibility for the murders, faced life in prison.In March 2016, the police closed their investigation; a month later, the State Attorney indicted Dahlgren for committing the four murders. Dahlgren was sentenced to life in prison on 20 July 2016; he appealed the verdict but in March 2017 the original ruling was upheld. On 11 January 2018 Dahlgren committed suicide in Valdice prison.

Villa Tugendhat (Czech: Vila Tugendhat) is an architecturally significant building in Brno, Czech Republic. It is one of the pioneering prototypes of modern architecture in Europe, and was designed by the German architects Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich. It was built between 1928 and 1930 for Fritz Tugendhat and his wife Greta, of the wealthy and influential Jewish Czech Tugendhat family. Of reinforced concrete, the villa soon became an icon of modernism. Famous for its revolutionary use of space and industrial building materials, the building was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001.
