Llanrhaiadr Mochnant railway station

The River Rhaeadr (Welsh: Afon Rhaeadr) is a river in Wales. It starts at the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall a few miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, where the Afon Disgynfa falls over a 240-foot (73 m) cliff-face, after which the river is known as the Afon Rhaeadr. Downstream, the Afon Rhaeadr runs into the Afon Tanat.

Llanrhaeadr Football Club is a Welsh football club based in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys. They currently play in the Ardal NE. The home colours are blue shirts with blue shorts and socks.The club was promoted to the Cymru Alliance in 2010–11 season and although finishing in the relegation zone secured survival in the 2011–12 season due to Neath FC becoming bankrupt from the Welsh Premier. In season 2012–13 the club appointed Daniel Stevens as manager, who used to manage Ellesmere Rangers FC. A proven fluency was brought to Llanrhaeadr with a number of young players brought in alongside the new manager. 2013–14 saw the club relegated having finished bottom of the Cymru Alliance with 16 points. Marc Griffiths was appointed as Manager and the club returned to The Alliance for the 2018–19 season after winning the Mid-Wales league in 2017–18. The club was relegated from the Cymru North at the end of the 2021–22 season. In May 2022 Michael Barton was appointed manager.

The Afon Iwrch is a river near Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Clwyd, Wales. It is a tributary of the River Tanat and is 8.9 miles (14.4 km) in length. Its headwaters lie on the eastern slopes of Cadair Berwyn, the highest peak of the Berwyn range, and the river flows broadly southeastwards to join the River Tanat, itself a tributary of the River Vyrnwy.

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant (Welsh pronunciation) is a village, community and an ecclesiastical parish in the extreme north of Powys, Wales; about 9 miles west of Oswestry and 12 miles south of Llangollen, on the B4580. It lies near the foothills of the Berwyn mountains on the river Rhaeadr. At the top end of the valley is the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, one of the Seven Wonders of Wales in the old rhyme. One mile north of the town is the hill Moel Hen-fache (515 m). The community includes the hamlet of Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr. It was an important site in the ancient commote (or cantref; sources disagree) of Mochnant, as indicated by the ym-Mochnant in its name (translates to "in Mochnant").Until 1974, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant was split into two civil parishes: the northern parish was in historic Denbighshire and the southern parish in historic Montgomeryshire; this reflected the division of the ancient commote in the 12th century. The divide continued between 1974 and 1996, with the former Denbighshire parish being placed in Clwyd and the former Montgomeryshire parish in Powys, each with their own community councils. In 1996, both parts of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant were united within the county of Powys, and the community councils were amalgamated in 2008.

Pedairffordd Halt railway station (alternatively Pedair-Ffordd Halt) was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway, located 1.3 miles south of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys, Wales in the hamlet Pedair-Ffordd. The station opened in 1904 and closed in 1951. There station was located on the east side of a level crossing.

Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr, occasionally referred to as Llanarmon Fach, is an isolated rural parish in Powys, Wales. It was formerly in Denbighshire, and from 1974 to 1996 was in the county of Clwyd. It measures 2 square miles (5 km2) and has a population of 40.The scattered settlement lies on the south-facing slopes of the Berwyn Mountains in the high upper part of the Tanat Valley, at around 950 feet above sea level. Its name translates roughly as "St Garmon's church [on the] Great Mountain", distinguishing it from the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, 5 miles (8 km) away in the Ceiriog Valley.

Pentrefelin railway station was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway, located two miles south-east of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys, Wales serving the hamlet of Pentrefelin. The station opened in 1904 and formally closed in 1951. The platform was located to the east of a level crossing on a minor road to Glantanat Isaf. The platform had a corrugated iron shelter, lamps and a nameboard. There was a goods loop on the north side of the line. The platform is still extant on farmland.

Tomen yr Allt (or Domen yr Allt) was a Medieval motte and bailey defensive castle near Llanfyllin in Powys, Wales. "Tomen ar hallt" is modern Welsh for "mound on the wooded hillside."

Bodfach is a hamlet in the community of Llanfyllin, Powys, Wales, which is 89 miles (144 km) from Cardiff and 160 miles (257 km) from London.Nearby Bodfach Estate goes back to 1160 when by Einion Efell inherited the land from his father Madog ap Maredudd, Prince of Powys, following the destruction of the Tomen yr Allt motte and bailey castle which stood on the hill above Bodfach. The Woodland Trust, in partnership with the owners, have planted many new trees as part of a project to restore the character of this ancient royal landscape.The 'Llanfyllin Show' is held at Bodfach, and the 142nd show took place in 2013.

Llanfyllin (Welsh pronunciation: [ɬanˈvəɬɪn] – audio ) is a market town and community in Powys, Wales. The town population in 2021 was 1,586 and the town's name means church or parish (llan) of St Myllin ('m' frequently mutates to 'f' in Welsh). The community includes the settlements of Bodfach, Ty Crwyn, Abernaint and several farms.

Glas Hirfryn is a farm in Cwmdu, at east side of the road through the valley of the Lleiriog on the southern side of the Berwyn Mountains. It is in the community of Llansilin, which was formerly in Denbighshire, but since 1996 has been in the Montgomeryshire part of Powys. The timber-framed farmhouse, which stands within a group of farm buildings was abandoned in the mid-20th century, at which time it was listed as Grade II. The house has now been dated by dendrochronology to about 1559 AD or shortly afterwards.By 2002 the building had largely collapsed, but since 2012 a restoration programme has been started under the supervision of architect Graham Moss and drawing on the expertise of the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust (CPAT). The restoration work has been undertaken by Manor Joinery of Minsterley, Shropshire.
