The Afon Iwrch is a river near Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Clwyd, Wales. It is a tributary of the River Tanat and is 8.9 miles (14.4 km) in length. Its headwaters lie on the eastern slopes of Cadair Berwyn, the highest peak of the Berwyn range, and the river flows broadly southeastwards to join the River Tanat, itself a tributary of the River Vyrnwy.

Llwyn Bryn-Dinas is an Iron Age hillfort on the north side of the Tanat valley, about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the village of Llangedwyn, in Powys, Wales.

Llanrhaiadr Mochnant railway station was a station near Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys, Wales, on the Tanat Valley Light Railway. The station opened in 1904 and closed to passengers in 1951 and completely in 1964. The station was situated a mile south-east of the village and on the west side of a level crossing. It had two platforms and a passing loop as well as sidings to a goods yard and cattle dock.

The River Rhaeadr (Welsh: Afon Rhaeadr) is a river in Wales. It starts at the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall a few miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, where the Afon Disgynfa falls over a 240-foot (73 m) cliff-face, after which the river is known as the Afon Rhaeadr. Downstream, the Afon Rhaeadr runs into the Afon Tanat.

Llangedwyn Halt railway station was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway in Llangedwyn, Powys, Wales. The station opened in 1904 and closed in 1951. There was a passing loop so there were two platforms with waiting shelters situated to the east of a level crossing. There was a siding from the east end serving the goods yard to the north of the station. The site today is occupied by Llangedwyn Home Farm.

Llanrhaeadr Football Club is a Welsh football club based in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys. They currently play in the Ardal NE. The home colours are blue shirts with blue shorts and socks.The club was promoted to the Cymru Alliance in 2010–11 season and although finishing in the relegation zone secured survival in the 2011–12 season due to Neath FC becoming bankrupt from the Welsh Premier. In season 2012–13 the club appointed Daniel Stevens as manager, who used to manage Ellesmere Rangers FC. A proven fluency was brought to Llanrhaeadr with a number of young players brought in alongside the new manager. 2013–14 saw the club relegated having finished bottom of the Cymru Alliance with 16 points. Marc Griffiths was appointed as Manager and the club returned to The Alliance for the 2018–19 season after winning the Mid-Wales league in 2017–18. The club was relegated from the Cymru North at the end of the 2021–22 season. In May 2022 Michael Barton was appointed manager.

Llangedwyn is a village in Montgomeryshire, Powys, Wales. The population of the community at the 2011 census was 402. The community includes the hamlet of Pen-y-bont Llanerch Emrys. It lies in the Tanat Valley near to the Wales/England border. It is approximately five miles from the small town of Llanfyllin and ten miles from the Shropshire market town of Oswestry. The Berwyn mountain range is nearby, as is Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall. The ruins of Owain Glyndŵr's Sycharth castle lie a few miles outside the village towards Llansilin. Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, 10th Baronet, heir of Owain Gwynedd, lived his final years at Llangedwyn Hall. The hall is a Grade II listed building and its gardens and park are listed at Grade II* on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr, occasionally referred to as Llanarmon Fach, is an isolated rural parish in Powys, Wales. It was formerly in Denbighshire, and from 1974 to 1996 was in the county of Clwyd. It measures 2 square miles (5 km2) and has a population of 40.The scattered settlement lies on the south-facing slopes of the Berwyn Mountains in the high upper part of the Tanat Valley, at around 950 feet above sea level. Its name translates roughly as "St Garmon's church [on the] Great Mountain", distinguishing it from the village of Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog, 5 miles (8 km) away in the Ceiriog Valley.

Glas Hirfryn is a farm in Cwmdu, at east side of the road through the valley of the Lleiriog on the southern side of the Berwyn Mountains. It is in the community of Llansilin, which was formerly in Denbighshire, but since 1996 has been in the Montgomeryshire part of Powys. The timber-framed farmhouse, which stands within a group of farm buildings was abandoned in the mid-20th century, at which time it was listed as Grade II. The house has now been dated by dendrochronology to about 1559 AD or shortly afterwards.By 2002 the building had largely collapsed, but since 2012 a restoration programme has been started under the supervision of architect Graham Moss and drawing on the expertise of the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust (CPAT). The restoration work has been undertaken by Manor Joinery of Minsterley, Shropshire.

St Cedwyn's Church at Llangedwyn was formerly in the historic county of Denbighshire but since 1996 has been within the Montgomeryshire Shire Area of Powys, Wales. St Cedwyn's was a chapel of ease of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. Llangedwyn is 7 miles south-west of Oswestry and to the south of the Berwyn Mountains. Saint Cedwyn may have been a son of the 5th century saint and princess Saint Madryn.The church was extensively restored in 1869–70 by Benjamin Ferrey under the patronage of Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn of Llangedwyn Hall, but incorporates medieval masonry in its west and east walls, and also retains a Romanesque-revival porch of c.1840, very probably by Thomas Penson. Further restoration was undertaken by Herbert Luck North before 1907, including the addition of a dormer window to the roof on the north side.

Llanfyllin (Welsh pronunciation: [ɬanˈvəɬɪn] – audio ) is a market town and community in Powys, Wales. The town population in 2021 was 1,586 and the town's name means church or parish (llan) of St Myllin ('m' frequently mutates to 'f' in Welsh). The community includes the settlements of Bodfach, Ty Crwyn, Abernaint and several farms.

The Lonely Tree was a Scots pine on a hill near Llanfyllin, Powys, Wales. Visible from much of the town it was a local landmark with several traditions attached to it. The tree was blown over during a storm in February 2014, and despite efforts to save it, the tree was found to be dead in June 2015. The tree was voted Welsh Tree of the Year for 2014 and finished tenth in the European Tree of the Year awards for 2015. Seventeen saplings have been planted nearby in the hope that one will grow to replace the tree.
