Mönckebergstraße station is a Hamburg U-Bahn station located on the Mönckebergstraße in Hamburg-Altstadt. It first opened in 1912.

St. James' Church (German: Hauptkirche St. Jacobi) is one of the five principal churches (Hauptkirchen) of Hamburg. In 1529, it became a Lutheran church. It is located directly in the city centre, has a 125 m tall tower and features a famous organ by Arp Schnitger from 1693. It is dedicated to St James the Greater and often incorrectly referred to in English as St Jacob's.

The organ of the St. Jacobi Church (St. James' Church) in Hamburg, was built from 1689 to 1693 by the most renowned organ builder of his time, Arp Schnitger. The organ boasts four manuals and pedal with 60 stops, 15 of which are reeds – and has approximately 4000 sounding pipes. All in all, from the organ's original installation and its condition today (despite the partial destruction during World War II) not much of its conception has changed. The old pipework and the prospect pipes have been preserved in almost original format. It is the largest organ in existence from before 1700 and is one of the most eminent Baroque instruments that have been preserved.

The Hamburger Kunsthalle is the art museum of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany. It is one of the largest art museums in the country. The museum consists of three connected buildings, dating from 1869 (main building), 1921 (Kuppelsaal) and 1997 (Galerie der Gegenwart), located in the Altstadt district between the Hauptbahnhof (central train station) and the two Alster lakes. The name Kunsthalle indicates the museum's history as an 'art hall' when it was founded in 1850. Today, the museum houses one of the few art collections in Germany that cover seven centuries of European art, from the Middle Ages to the present day. The Kunsthalle's permanent collections focus on North German painting of the 14th century, paintings by Dutch, Flemish and Italian artists of the 16th and 17th centuries, French and German drawings and paintings of the 19th century, and international modern and contemporary art.

The Bust of Alessandro Peretti di Montalto is a portrait sculpture by the Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Executed in 1622 and 1623, the sculpture is now in the Kunsthalle Hamburg, in Germany. Although possibly mentioned by one of Bernini's early biographers, the bust had been considered lost and therefore makes no appearance in Rudolf Wittkower's catalogue of Bernini’s sculptures of 1955. However, the bust was identified in the 1980s and is now considered an authentic work by Bernini.

Altstadt (German: [ˈalt.ʃtat] (listen), literally: "Old town"), more precisely Hamburg-Altstadt – as not to be mistaken with Hamburg-Altona-Altstadt – is one of the inner-city districts of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Germany.

Gerhart-Hauptmann-Platz (Gerhart Hauptmann Square) is a central square in Altstadt quarter, Hamburg, Germany. The former Pferdemarkt (Horse Market) is located at the junction of the streets of Mönckebergstraße, Spitalerstraße and Alstertor. The southern part of the square was renamed into Ida-Ehre-Platz (Ida Ehre Square) on 9 July 2000, in honour of the actress and intendant of Hamburger Kammerspiele.

Steinstraße is an underground rapid transit station located at Deichtorplatz, between Steinstraße and Deichtorwall in the Altstadt of Hamburg, Germany. The station was opened in 1960 and is served by Hamburg U-Bahn line U1.

Hamburg Hauptbahnhof (abbrev. Hamburg Hbf) is the main railway station of the city of Hamburg, Germany. Opened in 1906 to replace four separate terminal stations, today Hamburg Hauptbahnhof is operated by DB Station&Service AG. With an average of 550,000 passengers a day, it is Germany's busiest railway station and the second-busiest in Europe after the Gare du Nord in Paris. It is classed by Deutsche Bahn as a category 1 railway station.The station is a through station with island platforms and is one of Germany's major transportation hubs, connecting long-distance Intercity Express routes to the city's U-Bahn and S-Bahn rapid transit networks. It is centrally located in Hamburg in the Hamburg-Mitte borough. The Wandelhalle shopping centre occupies the north side of the station building.

Markthalle Hamburg is a convention center located at Klosterwall, Hammerbrook in the city of Hamburg, Germany. It was designed by the architect Fritz Schumacher and built in 1913. The main hall can hold up to 1,000 people. Many notable artists have performed in the main hall including Phish, B.B. King, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, U2, AC/DC, Dio, The Police, Alter Bridge, Thomas Mapfumo and Run–D.M.C.Four live albums have been recorded at the venue: Live in Hamburg by Roger Chapman (1979), The Hamburg Tapes by Gotthard (1996), No Holds Barred by Biohazard (1997) and Slip Stitch and Pass by Phish (1997).

The Miramar House is a historic Kontorhaus in Hamburg, built in the style of Brick Expressionism of the 1920s. It is located in the Hamburg-Altstadt district. The house has been a listed building since 1999. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kontorhaus District.The ground plan of the building adapts to the Schopenstehl and Kattrepel streets, which run at a slightly acute angle. The rounding off of the building towards the street corner was unusual for the time and became stylistically influential for many of the following buildings. The four upper floors were built in clinker brickwork. The two plinth floors are plastered. The house is divided horizontally by several cornices. The figures are by Richard Kuöhl. They represent typical professions on which the Hamburg economy is based.

The Mönckebergstraße (locally also called Mö) is one of the main shopping streets in Hamburg, Germany. Mönckebergstraße is located in Hamburg-Altstadt, running some 800 m in east-west-direction between the Hauptbahnhof at Steintorwall and the Rathaus at Rathausmarkt. It is named after Johann Georg Mönckeberg, mayor of Hamburg in the 1890s and 1900s. On the south side, Mönckebergstraße passes the churches of St. Petri and St. Jacobi. Halfway in between, at Gerhart-Hauptmann-Platz, Mönckebergstraße intersects with Spitalerstraße, another important shopping street. Notable attractions of this prominent four-way-fork-junction are the Mönckebergbrunnen (Mönckeberg-Fountain) and a former central building of Hamburg public libraries, later had been a Burger King restaurant for many years, now a Starbucks subsidiary inside a coffeehouse called Elbphilharmonie Kulturcafé. Many major retailers such as H&M, Kaufhof, Karstadt, Karstadt Sport, Peek & Cloppenburg, Saturn or Zara have a presence on Mönckebergstraße. Many of the department stores have been converted from former kontor-houses. Some houses were demolished for the construction of Europa Passage in 2003. The shopping mall, which leads to the Jungfernstieg boulevard, opened in 2006.
