Mellery (Walloon: Mélénri) is a village of Wallonia and a district of the municipality of Villers-la-Ville, located in the province of Walloon Brabant, Belgium.

Villers-la-Ville (French pronunciation: [vilɛʁs la vil] ; Walloon: L' Abeye) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant. On January 1, 2006, Villers-la-Ville had a total population of 9,572. The total area is 47.45 km2 which gives a population density of 202 inhabitants per km2. The municipality includes also the villages of Marbais, Mellery, Sart-Dames-Avelines and Tilly.

Villers Abbey (abbaye de Villers) is an ancient Cistercian abbey located in the town of Villers-la-Ville, in the Walloon Brabant province of Wallonia (Belgium), one piece of the Wallonia's Major Heritage. Founded in 1146, the abbey was abandoned in 1796. Most of the site has since fallen into ruins.

On 1 January 2006 Court-Saint-Étienne had a total population of 9,408. The total area is 26.64 km2 (10.29 sq mi) which gives a population density of 353/km2 (910/sq mi) inhabitants . The municipality includes the following districts: Wisterzée, Sart-Messire-Guillaume, La Roche, Mérivaux, Suzeril, Faux, Limauges, Beaurieux, Franquenies, Le Chenoy, and Tangissart.

The Houssière is a little river in the provinces of Namur and Walloon Brabant in Belgium, left tributary of the Orne (Scheldt basin). Its source lies between Gentinnes and Sombreffe. It traverses Villeroux and Hévillers, and flows into the Orne at Mont-Saint-Guibert.

The Battle of Fleurus, fought on 1 July 1690 near Fleurus, then part of the Spanish Netherlands, now in modern Belgium, was a major engagement of the Nine Years' War. A French army led by Luxembourg defeated an Allied force under Waldeck. Luxembourg's victory had limited strategic impact, since Louis XIV of France ordered him to end his campaign in the Netherlands, and instead reinforce the Dauphin on the Rhine. This gave the Allies time to withdraw to Brussels, and rebuild their army.
