The street is located entirely within the W1J postcode district; the eastern end is 200 metres (660 ft) north-east of Green Park underground station. It is within the City of Westminster, running approximately east to west from Fitzmaurice Place past Shepherd Market to Park Lane. The street is thought to be named after George Howe, 3rd Viscount Howe from the House of Curzon. Before this time, it was called Mayfair Row. Other places named after the Curzon family include Curzon Avenue, a street in Northwich, in North west England. In the world of athletics, Curzon Ashton F.C. is a soccer club situated in Ashton-Under-Lyne, which traces its history to the family's name owing to a few members of the family who participated in football. Leconfield House is a building in Mayfair, London. It was the headquarters of the Security Service (MI5) from 1945 to 1976.

Chesterfield House was a grand London townhouse built between 1747 and 1752 by Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (1694–1773), statesman and man of letters. The exterior was in the Palladian style, the interior Baroque. It stood in Mayfair on the north side of Curzon Street, between South Audley Street and what is now Chesterfield Street. It was demolished in 1937 and on its site now stands an eponymous block of flats. The French travel writer Pierre-Jean Grosley in his 1770 book Londres (translated as Tour to London) considered the house to be equal to the hotel particuliers of the nobility in Paris.

The Curzon Mayfair Cinema is a Grade II listed building at 37–38 Curzon Street, London W1, built in 1963–66 by H. G. Hammond for Sir John Burnet, Tait and Partners, architects.Historic England have described it as "the finest surviving cinema building of the post-war period, it is also the least altered." It is part of the Curzon Cinemas chain.

Les Saveurs de Jean-Christophe Novelli, also known as Les Saveurs, was a restaurant in Curzon Street, Mayfair, London. Owned by Marco Pierre White in the mid 1990s, it was purchased by Jean-Christophe Novelli in April 1997. The restaurant was Novelli's sixth to be opened in the Novelli Group, in agreement with Rocco Forte's RF Hotels. In the contract, Novelli agreed to pay 10% of turnover or a minimum of £100,000 a year to Rocco Forte.The restaurant opened in 1998, but was closed just a year later after losing money. Gordon Ramsay described the takeover as "astonishing, and involved Jean-Christophe Novelli, a man who Marco probably thinks should be in his eternal debt. Marco was dying to get his hands on Les Saveurs, in Curzon Street." Hospitality described the restaurant as "the upmarket Mayfair eatery that earned him [Novelli] yet another Michelin Star".The venue reopened in 1999 as Novelli at Curzon Street.

The Embassy of Myanmar in London, also referred to as the Embassy of Burma, is the diplomatic mission of Myanmar in the United Kingdom.Kyaw Zwar Minn had served as Ambassador to the United Kingdom since 5 March 2014, when he presented his Letters of Credence to Queen Elizabeth II. In response to the coup d'état carried out in Myanmar on 1st February 2021, Ambassador Kyaw Zwar Minn publicly demanded, on 8 March, the release of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President Win Myint with denying the legitimacy of the junta's rule. On 7 April 2021 Minn was locked out of the Embassy by its pro-junta military attaché.
