Estúdios Globo (Globo Studios, in English) is the Grupo Globo's television production arm and Latin America's largest audio-visual production center. Before its current name, it was also known as Central Globo de Produção (Globo Production Center) which was displayed as a label in the credits of its shows. Additionally, it was referred to as Projac, an acronym for Projeto Jacarepaguá, when referring to its production complex inaugurated in 1995. Estúdios Globo's lot, located between the neighborhoods of Curicica and Jacarepaguá, is the largest television production center in the world, with an area of 1,600 km2 (620 sq mi), housing studios, fictional cities, islands of editing, post production, special effects, factory settings, costumes, technical support to production, administration and services.Currently, its facilities holds thirteen recording studios, three snack bars, a restaurant, and a bank. They are often building new studios, centers support to fictional cities, a theater and an administrative building.

The Rio de Janeiro Olympic Training Center (Portuguese: Centro Olímpico de Treinamento, COT) is a sports training facility in Barra da Tijuca, Brazil that opened after the 2016 Summer Olympics. The centre includes six venues used in the 2016 games and facilities created in the Barra Olympic Park footprint. The centre is located at the site of the former Nelson Piquet International Autodrome - Jacarepaguá.

The Riocentro bombing (Portuguese: Atentado do Riocentro) was an attempted terrorist attack that took place on the evening of 30 April 1981, during a May Day celebration concert at the Riocentro convention center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The bombing, carried out by officers of the Brazilian Army, was a false flag operation intended to frame left-wing guerrillas as violent and thereby halting the country's transition towards democracy. It ended up having the opposite effect, accelerating the end of Brazil's military regime, in power since 1964. One of the perpetrators of the attack died, while the other was injured, from an accidental detonation of one of the bombs. A criminal inquiry from the time was inconclusive. There have been renewed investigations since 1999, one of which, conducted by the National Truth Commission, concluded that military authorities were responsible for the planning and execution of the bombing.

Riocentro is an exhibition and convention center located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built in 1977, it is the largest exhibition center in Latin America.

The Autódromo Internacional Nelson Piquet (Nelson Piquet International RaceTrack), also known as Jacarepaguá after the neighbourhood in which it was located, and also as the Autódromo Riocentro, was a motorsport circuit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Opened in January 1978, a few weeks before 1978 Brazilian Grand Prix, it hosted the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix on ten occasions, and was also used for CART, motorcycle racing and stock car racing. In 2012, it was demolished to make way for facilities to be used at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The City of Rock (Cidade do Rock), located in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, is an events venue best known for hosting the music festival Rock in Rio.

The Rio Olympic Velodrome, officially the Velódromo Municipal do Rio (Rio Municipal Velodrome), is a velodrome located in the Barra Olympic Park sports complex in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Built as a replacement for the former Barra Velodrome, the venue hosted track cycling events during the 2016 Summer Olympics, and is scheduled to host track cycling events during the 2016 Summer Paralympics. After the conclusion of the games, the velodrome will form part of the Olympic Training Center.

The Barra Olympic Park (Brazilian Portuguese: Parque Olímpico da Barra), originally the City of Sports Complex, is a cluster of nine sporting venues in Barra da Tijuca, in the west zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The park, which served as the Olympic Park for the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2016 Summer Paralympics, was originally built for the 2007 Pan American Games, consisting of three venues. The complex was later expanded to nine venues for the Olympics, two of which are temporary structures. The complex will later become the site of the Olympic Training Center, after the games conclude.

The Olympic Tennis Centre (Portuguese: Centro Olímpico de Tênis) is a tennis venue located in the Barra Olympic Park in Barra da Tijuca in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The centre hosted tennis events of the 2016 Summer Olympics, and the wheelchair tennis events of the 2016 Summer Paralympics. The centre was built on the site of the former Nelson Piquet International Autodrome.
