The Liberty Hill Historic District is a historic district located in the Dolores Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, California, U.S.. It is a residential neighborhood bound by 20th, Mission, Dolores, and 22nd Streets. It is listed as a San Francisco Designated Landmark since October 25, 1985.It contains the Liberty Street Historic District, a two block area along Liberty Street listed as a California Historical Landmark, and one of the National Register of Historic Places.

El Capitan Theatre and Hotel, or The Cap, is a historic 1928 building containing a hotel, shops, and a former luxury vaudeville and movie theater in the Mission District of San Francisco, California. Union Race Course was a horse racing track opened in the 1850s in San Francisco, California located in the Mission District. There were two horse race courses in the Mission District at this time, the other being Pioneer Race Course which was located a few blocks away. At the time it was planned to be built, no streets existed in this neighborhood but later it appears to be bound by 19th St to 23rd St and Capp St to Harrison St.The half mile track was renovated in 1862, moved slightly to softer ground and renamed 'Willows Trotting Park' but the increasing value of the land for housing proved too much. The final horse race was run at Union Race Course on July 18, 1863.The positioning of this race course, as well as the earlier built race course called Pioneer Race Course appear to have affected the placement of the San Francisco-San Jose Railway.

The theatre offers approximately 48 weeks of programming per year.The theatre has been located in its current space since 1998. In December 2014, the theatre announced that it might have to relocate after its landlord increased the theatre's rent. The theatre applied for assistance from the city Government of San Francisco.As of late 2019, the organization planned to move, with two other local non-profits, to a new building at 18th and Mission.

Until 2015, he did pop up, underground events before opening a brick and mortar location in the Mission District. The restaurant has two floors. The top floor is for drinks, apéritifs and appetizers. Then they head downstairs for the rest of the meal.
