Hadnall railway station was a station in Hadnall, Shropshire, England. The station was opened in 1858 and closed in 1960.

Astley is a small village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. The official 2001 census recorded 454 people living in the parish and 116 in the village itself, falling slightly to 449 at the 2011 Census.The village lies near to (and between) the A53 and A49 roads. Upper Astley is a hamlet on the A53 about half a mile to the south of the village of Astley. There is a public house there - the Dog in the Lane. (now closed permanently)

Upper Battlefield is a small village in Shropshire, England. It lies on the A49 just north of Battlefield. The Welsh Marches railway line runs through the village, and it lies in the parish of Astley. Recent developments between the village and the town of Shrewsbury have almost merged the two settlements. Upon the recent completion of the new service station and livestock market site at the Battlefield Roundabout, there is only a small field separating the town and Upper Battlefield.

St Mary Magdalene's Church is in the village of Battlefield, Shropshire, England, dedicated to Jesus' companion Mary Magdalene. It was built on the site of the 1403 Battle of Shrewsbury between Henry IV and Henry "Hotspur" Percy, and was originally intended as a chantry, a place of intercession and commemoration for those killed in the fighting. It is probably built over a mass burial pit. It was originally a collegiate church staffed by a small community of chaplains whose main duty was to perform a daily liturgy for the dead. Roger Ive, the local parish priest, is generally regarded as the founder, although the church received considerable support and endowment from Henry IV. After the dissolution of the college and chantry in 1548, the building was used as the local parish church and it underwent serious decay, punctuated by attempts at rebuilding from the mid-18th century. A restoration in Victorian times was controversial in intention, scope and detail, although many original features remain. Today it is a redundant Anglican church. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

The Battle of Shrewsbury was a battle fought on 21 July 1403, waged between an army led by the Lancastrian King Henry IV and a rebel army led by Henry "Harry Hotspur" Percy from Northumberland. The battle, the first in which English archers fought each other on English soil, reaffirmed the effectiveness of the longbow and ended the Percy challenge to King Henry IV of England.Part of the fighting is believed to have taken place at what is now Battlefield, Shropshire, England, three miles (5 km) north of the centre of Shrewsbury. It is marked today by Battlefield Church and Battlefield Heritage Park.

Grinshill is a small village, and civil parish in Shropshire, England, United Kingdom. The parish is one of the smallest in the district. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 274. Grinshill Hill rises above the village to 192 metres (630 ft) above sea level. Grinshill is near (east) to the village of Clive. The A49 runs just further to the east of the village. Stone has been quarried at Grinshill since at least the twelfth century. Grinshill stone is a Triassic sandstone that was described by the Pevsner Architectural Guides as the "pre-eminent" building stone of Shropshire, and has been used in buildings as varied as Haughmond Abbey, Shrewsbury railway station and Welsh Bridge. Most notably, Grinshill stone has been used to make the lintels and door surround of Number 10 Downing Street and in the building of Chequers.The village church is All Saints. Nearby is a mansion, Stone Grange, built in 1617 as a retreat for Shrewsbury School in times of plague in the town.

Acton Reynald is a village in the north of Shropshire, England. The village is more of a hamlet in that it does not contain a public house, Post Office, or any other features typically associated with villages. It is close to the A49 which runs from Ross-on-Wye on the Welsh border to Bamber Bridge in Lancashire. The village backs on to RAF Shawbury and the village of Moreton Corbet to its east. The village's largest building is Acton Reynald Hall, a former seat of the local landowning Corbet family, which was a private girls' school from 1919 to 1995 before reverting to being a private residence. In the 1840s the whole existing village of Acton Reynold together with several farms was demolished to facilitate the creation of the parkland.

Acton Reynald Hall is a 19th-century country house at Acton Reynald, Moreton Corbet, Shropshire, England. It is a Grade II* listed building.The Corbet family abandoned nearby Moreton Corbet Castle as a residence in about 1800 after their 17th-century hall had been enlarged and improved for their occupation. Sir Andrew Corbet retained architect John Hiram Haycock (1759–1830), who created the new mansion in a Neo-Jacobean style. The seven-bayed, three-storey eastern entrance front retains three bays and a Tuscan portico dating from 1610 and 1625. The main block, dating from about 1800, was later extended by service wings in about 1840 and other improvements in 1893.The whole of the village of Acton Reynald together with several farms was demolished in the 1840s to facilitate the creation of the park. From about 1919 until 1995 the house was occupied by a girls' school. It is now once again a private residence.

Corbet Wood Countryside Heritage Site and Grinshill Site is a mixture of a woodland and quarrying site in Shropshire. It has been designated a SSSI due to the importance of geology in this area.

Battlefield Heritage Park is a country park situated north of Shrewsbury in Shropshire, in the area known as Battlefield. It marks the supposed site of the 1403 Battle of Shrewsbury fought between King Henry IV and English rebel nobleman Henry Percy.
