On 12 September 2014, a guesthouse located within the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) premises around the Ikotun-Egbe area of Lagos State collapsed completely to the ground. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and other emergency services were criticized for withholding information about the accident, and much remained unclear about the number of deaths and their nationalities.

Igando also known as Igando road is a community located in the Alimosho local government area of Lagos State, South-Western Nigeria. On the 26 July 2016, suspected Niger Delta militants invaded the town, killing several people and destroying properties. Associated Aviation Flight 361 was a domestic charter flight operated by Associated Aviation that on 3 October 2013 crashed on takeoff from Lagos, Nigeria, killing 16 of the 20 people on board. The aircraft, a twin turboprop Embraer 120 Brasilia, was transporting the body of Nigerian politician Olusegun Agagu to Akure, Nigeria, for burial.

Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) (IATA: LOS, ICAO: DNMM) (Yoruba: Pápá Ọkọ̀ Òfurufú Káríayé Múrítàlá Mùhammẹ̀d) is an international airport located in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria, and is the major airport serving the entire state. The airport was initially built during World War II and is named after Murtala Muhammed (1938–1976), the fourth military ruler of Nigeria.

Apata Memorial High School is a military-style private boarding school in Lagos, Nigeria. It was founded in 1980 by retired Nigerian Army Brigadier-General S. O. Apata (who was assassinated on January 8, 1995). The school has about 1550 pupils and 150 teachers. There are both boarding and day students. It is said to be the best school in Oshodi-Isolo local government and one of the best in lagos state.

Isolo Public library is one of the 18 libraries established in Lagos State to encourage a reading culture in the residents of the state. It is under the Lagos State library board. Alimosho is a Local Government Area in Lagos State, Nigeria with the largest population of about 3,082,900 which is according to Population [2019] – Projection The 2006 Census says the population was 1,288,714 (but the Lagos State Government argued that the population as at 2006 within the LGA was more than 2 million residents).It has now been subdivided between several Local Community Development Areas (LCDA). The LCDA restructuring kicked off after the administration of Bola Ilori, who was the last chairman of the old single Alimosho Local Government. The six sub-divisions created out of the old Alimosho are: Agbado/Oke-odo LCDA, Ayobo/Ipaja LCDA, Alimosho LG, Egbe/Idimu LCDA, Ikotun/Igando LCDA and Mosan Okunola LCDA. The LGA contains the urban area of Egbeda/Akowonjo.The Alimosho was established in 1945 and it was under the (then) western region. Alimosho's population is predominantly Egbados. The area is rich in culture, prominent amongst which are the Oro, Igunnu and Egungun annual festivals. The two main religions are Islam and Christianity. Yoruba language is widely spoken in the community. The first secretariat of Alimosho is a two-storey building located on Council street, now in the Egbe/Idimu LCDA. it i s said that the LGA is the noisiest in Lagos State.

The Ikeja City Mall is located at Alausa in Ikeja, Lagos State. It is the first of its kind on the Mainland of Metropolitan Lagos. There is a Silverbird cinema in the mall as well as Shoprite, eateries, clothing brands and clothing stores and different bank ATMs. Popularly known as Shoprite Ikeja or ICM, it serves as a meeting point or recreational spot for friends, family and business people.

Mushin is a Local Government Area in Lagos. It is located 10 km north of the city core, adjacent to the main road to Ikeja, and is largely a congested residential area with inadequate sanitation and low-quality housing. It had 633,009 inhabitants at the 2006 Census. It is also where a lot of A list talents have risen from, artists such as Wande Coal
