The church of Santa Maria Assunta, known as I Gesuiti, is a religious building in Venice, northern Italy. It is located in the sestiere of Cannaregio, in Campo dei Gesuiti, not far from the Fondamenta Nuove.

Santa Caterina is a deconsecrated Roman Catholic church in the Cannaregio district of Venice, now forming part of the Liceo Marco Foscarini complex, to which it was joined when the Augustinian monks took over the running of the school. The church was begun by the "frati del Sacco" (Order of Penitence of Jesus Christ) early in the 13th century, but they were unable to complete it before their suppression in 1274. The building passed to a wealthy merchant, who gave it to Botolotta Giustinian, who in turn gave it to a group of Augustinian monks, who completed it by the 15th century and dedicated it to Catherine of Alexandria. On Catherine's feast day the Doge of Venice would come to the church to celebrate the "Festa dei Dotti", whilst it also originally housed Palma il Giovane's Saint Catherine's Mother Consulting Wise Men about her Daughter's Marriage (now in the Palazzo Patriarcale), Tintoretto's c.1585 cycle Scenes from the Life of Saint Catherine (now also in the Palazzo Patriarcale) and Paolo Veronese's 1575 Mystic Marriage of Saint Catherine (now in the Gallerie dell'Accademia). In the 1970s the church was devastated by a fire during restoration works, destroying the rest of its works of art.

The Palazzo Benedetti a Santa Sofia is a 14th-century Venetian-Gothic style palace with a characteristic and rare sottoportego or portico at the canal side, located near Santa Sofia in the sestiere of Cannaregio. Across the bridge from the palace is the Palazzo Priuli Stazio. This palace also called the Palazzo di Sottoportico della Guerra.

The church of San Canciano or San Canziano is a small church in the sestiere (district) of Cannaregio in Venice. The church was supposedly founded in 864 when citizens from the mainland town of Aquileia fled to the lagoon islands of Venice to avoid the barbarian hordes. It was one of the churches under the jurisdiction of the patriarch of Grado who lived in Venice. It is dedicated to Canzio, Canziano, and Canzianilla, two brothers and a sister who were martyred for their faith at Aquileia. The church at the site was renovated in 1330, consecrated in 1351, and restored in 1550, and again finally reshaped in the early 18th century to a design by Antonio Gaspari. The facade was reconstructed in 1706 using a bequest from Michele Tommasi. The campanile dates from 1532. The nave ceiling was raised during the rebuilding in the mid-18th century using designs of Giorgio Massari. The four side altars dedicated to the Madonna have canvases by Giuseppe Angeli and Bartolomeo Letterini. The rich sculptural and stucco decoration was contributed by the Widmann family. Clemente Molli sculpted the statue of San Maximus, first bishop of Cittanova in Istria. The chancel altarpiece depicts The Glory of the martyred Saints Canzio, Canziano, and Canzianilla attributed to Paolo Zoppo.It is flanked by a painting of the Probatic Pond and Multiplication of the loaves by Domenico Zanchi. The chapel on the left dedicated to St Venerando contains an altarpiece of the Madonna and St Filippo Neri by Nicola Ranieri. The Altar of the Immaculate Virgin, second to left, was financed by Flaminio Corner in 1735.

The Palazzo Pesaro Papafava or Palazzo Papafava is a 15th-century Gothic style palace in the sestiere of Cannaregio of Venice, Italy. Located on the Canale della Misericordia, near the corner with Rio di San Felice; it stands across from the Scuola Grande di Santa Maria della Misericordia. It originally belonged to the Pesaro family in the 14th century, until the marriage of Bonifacio Papafava to Pesarina Pesaro in 1615. The Papafava family originated from Padua; and Bonifacio bought his entry into the Venetian Nobility (Libro d'oro) in 1652. The less decorated lateral wing was a later addition. The Papafava family died out with Giacomo Papafava in 1796.

The Chiesa dei Santi Apostoli di Cristo (Church of the Holy Apostles of Christ), commonly called San Apostoli, is a 7th-century Roman Catholic church located in the Cannaregio sestiere of the Italian city of Venice. It is one of the oldest churches in the city and has undergone numerous changes since its foundation. The present building is the result of a major reconstruction project which was undertaken in 1575. The church is notable particularly for the Cornaro Chapel, an important example of Early Renaissance architecture, added by Mauro Codussi during the 1490s. The chapel is the burial place of several members of the powerful Cornaro family (Venetian: Corner), including Catherine Cornaro, Queen of Cyprus and Armenia. The church houses several works of art including pieces by Giambattista Tiepolo and Paolo Veronese.

The Church of the Abbey of Misericordia (Italian: Santa Maria dell'Abbazia della Misericordia or Santa Maria di Valverde) is a religious edifice in Venice, Italy, in the sestiere Cannaregio.

The Scuola vecchia della Misericordia ("Old School of Mercy") is a former charity building in Venice, Italy, in the sestiere of Cannaregio. It is located near the north margin of the city, at the intersections of Rio della Sensa and the confluence of Rio di Noale and Rio di San Falice. It was also known as the Scuola Grande di Santa Maria della Misericordia. It was erected in 1310 and subsequently enlarged several times; in Venice a scuola was the seat of a charity/religious institution. By the early 16th century, the old church had joined with the nearby Franciscan abbey, and the old meeting hall had been rented out. Construction of a new Scuola meeting hall, the Scuola Nuova della Misericordia was begun in 1507 across the Rio dell Sensa. However, 25 years later this was only a foundation, and new designs by Jacopo Sansovino completed the two-story brick structure. This was never faced with marble or stone, and sold in 1634 to the guild of silk weavers. The Scuola Nuova has been recently restored.

Santa Maria dei Miracoli is a church in the sestiere of Cannaregio, in Venice, Italy.

Santa Sofia is a church located in the sestiere (neighborhood) of Cannaregio in Venice, Italy. It should be distinguished from the palazzo Ca' d'Oro on the Grand Canal is also called the Palazzo Santa Sofia. A wooden church of Sant Sofia in Venice is documented in chronicles from 886 The church dates to initial patronage in the 11th century by the patrician family of the Gussoni. Construction began in 1020. It appears to have survived the great fire of 1105 in Venice. Major reconstruction took place from 1507 to 1534. The architect of a late-1600s reconstruction was Antonio Gaspari. With the construction of the Strada Nova in Venice in the 1800s, the church's length was diminished. Under Napoleonic rule, the rites in the church were suppressed. The church was converted into a warehouse, and the contents were dispersed. Fontana recounts how in 1836 the church was " redeem(ed) from the Israelites into whose hands it had fallen, and cleared of the debris. " In 1836, the church was re-consecrated for Roman Catholic services. Presently, the ground floor of the facade and bell tower of the church are screened behind a screen of buildings. The interior is less decorated than in the past. Originally a Last Supper by Paolo Veronese was located on the door leading to the Sacristy. Across from this canvas was a Birth of the Virgin by Titian. The main chapel had an altarpiece of Christ preaching to the Masses by Francesco da Ponte. Above the door, called that of St Peter, was a Crucifixion by Tintoretto. In the pulpit was a canvas by Domenico Tintoretto, depicting, the Marriage of the Virgin. On the organ covers were paintings of Adoration of the Shepherds attributed to Francesco and Leandro Bassano; these works are now attributed to Palma the Elder and are now in the Gallerie dell'Accademia of Venice. Other works included altarpieces by Gentile da Fabriano, Lionardo Corona, and Baldassare d'Anna. A Madonna and saints was painted by Giovanni Segala. The altarpiece of San Lorenzo Giustiniani was painted by Angelo Trevisani. A Baptism of Christ was painted by Daniele Heinz (Daniel Ens), brother of Joseph Ens.In the reduced size of the church after 1836 were housed a Madonna and Saints by Giovanni Battista Maganza; a St Anthony of Padua by Girolamo Brusaferro, a Christ in the Temple and an Adoration of the Magi by Leandro Bassano. In the small chapel beside the main door is a painting by Jacopo Palma the Elder. It also had an altarpieces by Pietro Moro. Likely most of these paintings were not originally in this church, nor have they been retained. Presently in this church are two paintings by Bassano's school: at the side of the presbytery, and a Baptism of Christ, now attributed to Girolamo Heinz, is now on the main altar. Four statues of saints, attributed to Antonio Rizzo, were relocated from the church of the Servi.

San Giovanni Grisostomo (English: Saint John Chrysostom) is a small church in the sestiere or neighborhood of Cannaregio, Venice. The church was founded in 1080, destroyed by fire in 1475, then rebuilt starting in 1497 by Mauro Codussi and his son, Domenico. Construction was completed in 1525. The bell tower dates from the late 16th century. The interior is based on a Greek cross design. Behind the façade are hung two canvasses, formerly organ doors, by Giovanni Mansueti depicting Saints Onuphrius, Agatha, Andrew and John Chrysostom. Onuphrius was the co-titular patron saint who was revered by the confraternity of the Tentori (dyers of fabrics, covers, and sheets). In 1516, a relic of the saint, his finger, was donated to this church. The chapel on the right has the painting Saints Christopher, Jerome and Louis of Toulouse (1513) by Giovanni Bellini. On the left rear the chapel of the Rosary or Madonna della Grazie has an altarpiece of Saints John Chrysostom, John the Baptist, John the Evangelist, Theodore, Mary Magdalene, Lucy and Catherine by Sebastiano del Piombo, commissioned by Caterina Contarini. On the wall of the apse is a series of canvases on the life of Saint John Chrysostom and Christ. On the high altar is a relief of the Deposition from the Cross. To the left is the chapel built for Giacomo Bernabò, with sculptural design by Codussi. The marble altarpiece of the Coronation of the Virgin (1500–1502) was completed by Tullio Lombardo. Ceiling: God the Father, fresco by Giuseppe Diamantini.

The Ca' da Mosto is a 13th-century, Venetian-Byzantine style palace, the oldest on the Grand Canal, located between the Rio dei Santi Apostoli and the Palazzo Bollani Erizzo, in the sestiere of Cannaregio in Venice, Italy.
