Boeing Field

Boeing Plant 2 (also known as Air Force Plant 17) was a factory building which was built in 1936 by The Boeing Company in King County, Washington in the United States. By the time production ceased in the building, the plant had built half of the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortresses, the Boeing 307 Stratoliners, the Boeing 377s, some of the Boeing B-29 Superfortresses, Boeing B-50 Superfortresses, B-47 Stratojets, B-52 Stratofortresses, and the initial Boeing 737s. It was located between the Duwamish River and Boeing Field, to the east of the 16th Avenue South bridge, facing East Marginal Way South.

Boeing Plant 1 (also known as Boeing Oxbow Plant) was the first airplane production facility of The Boeing Company, serving as its headquarters between 1917 and 1965 in Seattle, Washington, USA. Boeing Plant 1 was used for all aspects of the production of the early Boeing airplane models produced until the completion of Boeing Plant 2 in 1936. By the 1950s Boeing Plant 1 consisted of more than 20 buildings. The facility was made obsolete by the larger airplanes produced in the 1930s and was used primarily as a forging plant and testing facility, as well as a producer of component parts used in the production of airplanes in other Boeing facilities. The Boeing Plant 1 site was sold to the Port of Seattle in 1970 and is currently located on the southern portion of the Port of Seattle Terminal 115 site. Only two structures remain from the original Boeing Plant 1 site. One is Building No. 105, also known as the Red Barn, which is currently located at the Museum of Flight. The other is the 1929-vintage administration building, located on its original location, just south of the Terminal 115 site at 200 Southwest Michigan Street, Seattle.

Raisbeck Aviation High School (or RAHS), part of the Highline School District, is located in Tukwila, Washington. The school is an aviation- and aerospace-themed STEM school and one of the Highline School District's small schools. It is focused on preparing students for college, careers, and citizenship. The school serves about 400 students in grades 9-12 from around Puget Sound. Until 2013 it was known as Aviation High School. It is next to the Museum of Flight's Aviation Pavilion exhibit near King County International Airport.

The South Park Bridge (also called the 14th/16th Avenue South Bridge) is a Scherzer rolling lift double-leaf bascule bridge in Seattle, Washington, United States. The bridge is operated by the King County government, It carries automobile traffic over the Duwamish River near Boeing Field, just outside the city limits of Seattle, and is named for the nearby South Park neighborhood of Seattle. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982, as the 14th Avenue South Bridge. The original bridge was constructed in 1929–31. Prior to its 2010 closure for rebuilding, about 20,000 vehicles used the bridge daily, and it was a main connection to South Park's main business district. Due to safety concerns, the bridge was closed to traffic on June 30, 2010, and its bascule draw-span leaves were removed in August 2010. County officials secured funds for replacement of the draw span, and work to replace the bridge began in May 2011. The new bridge opened to traffic on June 30, 2014.

The Museum of Flight is a private non-profit air and space museum in the Seattle metropolitan area. It is located at the southern end of King County International Airport (Boeing Field) in the city of Tukwila, immediately south of Seattle. It was established in 1965 and is fully accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. As the largest private air and space museum in the world, it also hosts large K–12 educational programs.The museum attracts over 500,000 visitors every year, and also serves more than 140,000 students annually through its onsite programs: a Challenger Learning Center, an Aviation Learning Center, and a summer camp (ACE), as well as outreach programs that travel throughout Washington and Oregon.

The Chief Sealth Trail is a multi-use recreational trail in Seattle, Washington. The 3.6-mile (6 km) trail, which opened on May 12, 2007, follows the Seattle City Light transmission right-of-way from S. Dawson Street and Beacon Avenue S. in Beacon Hill, near Jefferson Park, to S. Gazelle Street and 51st Avenue S. in Rainier Valley, near Kubota Gardens. Extensions are planned northward to Downtown and southward to the city limits.The trail was constructed from the recycling of excavated soils and concrete from the construction of Link light rail along Martin Luther King Jr. Way in South Seattle.

The Comet Lodge graveyard on Beacon Hill in Seattle, Washington is situated just east of Interstate 5 on the hill's western slope, on South Graham Street between 21st and 23rd Avenues South. The cemetery was established in the 1800s as the sacred burial grounds for the Duwamish Nation. Seattle's earliest settlers followed. The monuments, headstones, and grave markers etched with history, are cenotaphs marking nothing after the burial grounds were bulldozed by the City of Seattle on November 2, 1987.

NewHolly (formerly Holly Park) is a neighborhood in southeast Seattle, Washington, United States. It is part of Seattle's South End. Holly Park was built in the 1940s to house defense workers and veterans, but in the 1950s, it was converted into public housing under the aegis of the Seattle Housing Authority (SHA). As the mid-century style of low-income housing projects fell out of fashion, and with its housing stock not faring well over the decades, SHA decided in 1995 to rebuild Holly Park as a mixed-income neighborhood. The resulting neighborhood is now officially NewHolly, described by the SHA as "the first new neighborhood in Seattle in 50 years."NewHolly consists primarily of housing, but also includes a learning center; a branch of Seattle Public Library; several classrooms attached to South Seattle Community College; a Head Start preschool; child care, youth, family, and teen programs; and community building activities and employment programs intended to help residents obtain and secure living-wage jobs.South Seattle Community College's NewHolly Learning Center teaches ESL and family literacy, ABE/GED preparation, and a worker retraining program associated with Community Corrections and Protective Service.

The Georgetown Steam Plant, located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, was constructed in 1906 for the Seattle Electric Company to provide power for Seattle, notably for streetcars.

The Green River Trail is a 19.6-mile (31.5 km) pedestrian and bicycle trail in King County, Washington, USA. It runs along the banks of the Duwamish and Green Rivers, crossing the river several times on bridges. The trail goes through a variety of landscapes, ranging from industrial to rural.The north end of the trail is near the turning basin of the Duwamish Waterway, near the south Seattle city limits. Heading upriver, the trail goes by Cecil Moses Park. It intersects the northern end of the Interurban Trail near Fort Dent Park in Tukwila, enters Kent near Briscoe Park (sometimes written as Brisco Park), and passes alongside the Green River Natural Resources Area and through the Riverbend Golf Complex, then meets the Interurban Trail again at Kent's Foster Park. Plans would extend the trail south through Auburn, Washington to Flaming Geyser State Park at the Green River Gorge.

The Old Georgetown City Hall, also known as Georgetown Police Station, is a two-story brick construction building designed by Victor W. Voorhees in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, Washington that was built in 1909.It was designed to include a police court, a jail, fire department, council chambers, and offices for mayor, engineer, and treasurer. It was to be the first building in Georgetown with hot and cold running water. Georgetown was annexed into Seattle in 1910.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

Othello station is a light rail station located in Seattle, Washington. It is situated between the Rainier Beach and Columbia City stations on the 1 Line, which runs from Angle Lake through Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to Downtown Seattle and the University of Washington as part of the Link light rail system. The station consists of two at-grade side platforms between South Othello Street and South Myrtle Street in the median of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South in the NewHolly neighborhood, part of Seattle's Rainier Valley. The station opened on July 18, 2009. Trains serve the station twenty hours a day on most days; the headway between trains is six minutes during peak periods, with less frequent service at other times. Othello station is also served by three King County Metro bus routes that connect it to Beacon Hill, Downtown Seattle, Mount Baker, Renton and West Seattle.
