The Sylvanus Johnson House, also known as Pinehurst, is a historic building located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. Johnson was a Connecticut native who worked in his father's brickyard before moving to Iowa in 1837. He opened the first brickyard in Iowa City and provided the bricks for many of its oldest buildings, including the Old Capitol. He also provided the bricks for his own house, which is the first in the area to have a mansard roof. Because the floor plan is very similar to the 18th century double-hipped roof houses in his native Connecticut it is very possible they were the inspiration for this house. The Second Empire style, which this house also resembles, would not become popular until after the American Civil War. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The P. Sue Beckwith, M.D., Boathouse is an athletic facility at the University of Iowa. The building primarily serves the university's women's rowing team. The university's club men's rowing team also uses the facility, along with the Hawkeye Community Rowing Program and the Old Capitol Rowing Club. It was a joint project of the City of Iowa City, the Athletics Department and Recreational Services of the University of Iowa. designed by Iowa-based Neumann Monson Architects. Groundbreaking took place on March 12, 2008. The P. Sue Beckwith, M.D., Boathouse was dedicated on September 18, 2009. The project cost US$7.2 million and includes... a terrace, training area, locker room, meeting room, storage space, easy access to the Iowa River, and a UI College of Engineering-designed indoor rowing tank. It's also the first UI building designed to meet the standards for the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.

The Edgewater Park Site is a 3,800-year-old Late Archaic campsite situated along the Iowa River in Coralville, Iowa, United States. Plant remains recovered from the site suggest the inhabitants were in the earliest stages of adapting domesticated plants. Excavations revealed a small encampment of two hearths and areas for faunal and stone tool production. Other features identified include a discard area and a deep feature of unknown function. Lithic analysis reveals that the site occupants probably recently traveled along the Iowa River from the north center of the state and were engaged in late-stage tool manufacture and maintenance. Floral analysis indicates the site occupation occurred during the warm half of the year and that the occupants utilized little barley, a non-local plant which was later cultivated, and barnyard grass, a local plant probably also later cultivated. This site is interpreted as a short-term, late warm-season occupation of people migrating down the Iowa River, possibly towards winter encampments in what is now the southeast part of the state.

The Old Settlers' Association of Johnson County Cabins, also known as City Park Cabins, are historic buildings located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. These are two log structures built by the Old Settlers' Association of Johnson County. The single-room log cabin was built in 1889 for Johnson County's semicentennial. It had been located at two different county fairground sites until it was moved to City Park in 1918. The second cabin was built here by the association in 1913. It is a dogtrot house that is meant to be a replica of an early trading post in this area. These are typical log house forms from Iowa's pioneer era whose existence are now rare. They also represent an effort by a social organization to commemorate the community's common pioneer heritage. A third element that is part of the historical designation is a bronze plaque affixed to a granite boulder. Located southwest of the cabins, it was installed in 1929 to mark a "Grand Army Tree" that was planted nearby. It is not known if the tree survives. The buildings and plaque were listed together on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

AnimeIowa is an annual three-day anime convention held during July at the Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center in Coralville, Iowa. The staff are all volunteers and the convention is run by the non-profit Mindbridge Foundation.

The Arthur Hillyer Ford House is a historic building located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. Ford was a Chicago native who worked as an electrical engineer before becoming a college professor. He eventually became professor of electrical engineering at the University of Iowa, and is credited with inventing glare-less automobile headlights. He hired local architect Orville H. Carpenter to design his Mission Revival house. It features a symmetrical composition, wall dormers with scalloped parapets, a quatrefoil window, stuccoed walls, red clay tile roof with wide overhanging eaves, and a full-length front porch with square piers and flattened arches. The American Craftsman influence is found on the interior, especially in the fireplace inglenook. The house was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. In 1994 it was included as a contributing property in the Brown Street Historic District.

The Ned Ashton House in Iowa City, Iowa, also known as the Edward L. Ashton House or as Ashton House, was built in 1947-1948 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.The house was built in 1947 by Edward L. "Ned" Ashton as a private residence. Ashton, who has been called "the most distinguished bridge engineer in the history of Iowa," was a professor of civil engineering at the University of Iowa from 1943 to 1957. He designed several bridges over the Mississippi River, as well as smaller bridges such as the Benton Street Bridge, and was a pioneer in the design of welded plate girder bridges.The single-story ranch house, built from stone and concrete, shows Prairie School influence in the way it was incorporated into its location alongside the Iowa River. Both the main and lower levels of the house provided excellent views of the river.

Parish Apartments, also known as the Sigma Pi Fraternity House and the St. Thomas More Parish Center, is a historic building located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 as the Sigma Pi Fraternity House.

The Charles Berryhill House (also known as Black's Gaslight Village) is a historic house located at 414 Brown Street in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Dr. Albert Henry Byfield House is a historic building located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. Completed in 1917, the two-story house combines elements of the Tudor Revival and the Craftsman styles. It was designed by Stuart Hobbs Sims, an engineering professor at the University of Iowa. It features asymmetrical facades, a two-story porch on the east elevation, and a tile roof with a cat-slide gable. The first owner of the house, Dr. Byfield, founded the Pediatrics Department at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.
