Joseph Franklin Bland House

The R. J. Reynolds Memorial Auditorium, located in Winston-Salem, NC, was built 1919–1924 under the direction of architect Charles Barton Keen (designer of the R. J. Reynolds estate, Reynolda House). Keen also designed the adjacent Richard J. Reynolds High School. Both buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Auditorium and adjacent school sit on a tract of land formerly known as "Silver Hill." The 28-acre (110,000 m2) tract of land now encompasses the Auditorium, the school, Hanes Park (named after the founder of Hanes Clothing Company and then-mayor James G. Hanes), the Calvin H. Wiley Middle School and the Winston-Salem Central YMCA. The Auditorium is now operated jointly by the Administration of the Richard J. Reynolds High School and the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. An auditorium manager is hired to take care of the day-to-day operations of the building and scheduling of performances and events. The Auditorium is one of the oldest and largest performing arts centers in the City of Winston-Salem. The building can comfortably seat 1898 people, with 857 seats on the main Orchestra level and 1,041 seats located on the Mezzanine/Balcony area.

Richard J. Reynolds High School now the Richard J. Reynolds Magnet School for the Visual and Performing Arts (often simply R. J. Reynolds High School or Reynolds) is a high school in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Named for R. J. Reynolds, the founder of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, the school opened in 1923. The school colors are Old Gold and Black, and the school's mascot is a demon.

Winston-Salem is a city in and the county seat of Forsyth County, North Carolina, United States. Winston-Salem is called the "Twin City" for its dual heritage, and the "Camel City" as a reference to the city's historic involvement in the tobacco industry related to locally based R. J. Reynolds' Camel cigarettes. Many natives of the city and North Carolina refer to the city as "Winston" in informal speech. Winston-Salem is also home to six colleges and institutions, most notably Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In 2021, the city ranked 46th out of 150 cities on the "Best Places to Live" list from U.S. News & World Report. In April 2021, a study from Lendingtree's Magnify Money blog ranked Winston-Salem the second-best tech market for women.

Robert M. Hanes House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1927, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, Georgian Revival style brick dwelling. It has a side-gable roof with dormers, recessed entrance, and a one-story porch with Tuscan order columns. It is set in a landscape designed by Ellen Biddle Shipman in 1937. Also on the property is a contributing garage (1926–1927), playhouse (c. 1936), and garden house. It was built for Ralph Hanes and his wife, Dewitt Chatham Hanes.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The Thurmond and Lucy Chatham House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925, and is a Classical Revival style stuccoed dwelling consisting of a 2+1⁄2-story main block flanked by two-bay-wide projecting hip-roofed sections. It has a tall hip roof and bluestone terrace that fills the rear courtyard of the H-shaped plan. The house encompasses 9,065-square-feet of living space. Also on the property is a contributing 1+1⁄2-story garage / apartment. It was built for Congressman and businessman Richard Thurmond Chatham (1896–1957), who also served as president of the Chatham Manufacturing Company and his wife, Lucy Hodgin Hanes.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

James B. and Diana M. Dyer House is a historic home located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1931, and is a large one- and two-story, irregularly-massed, Tudor Revival style dwelling with a rough-cut-stone exterior. It has a green slate roof, stepped stone chimney, and metal casement windows. It was built for James Dyer, a top executive at R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Hoots Milling Company Roller Mill, also known as Charles A. Bunn Company Office and Warehouse, is a historic roller mill and warehouse located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The mill was built about 1935, and is a two-story heavy timber and frame building, with an attached two-story heavy timber and frame warehouse built about 1937. A one-story, metal-sided, front-gable-roofed, warehouse was built in the 1930s. A one-story warehouse added in the 1950s connected the two buildings. The mill incorporates a gabled grain elevator.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

John W. Paisley Magnet School is a Middle school/High school located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It is home to the International Baccalaureate Middle Years program for students in grades six through ten. Paisley is a part of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools system. In 2007, Paisley was recognized as a Magnet School of excellence; one of five in North Carolina and only fifty in the United States. Paisley has been an accredited IB/MYP school since 2004. Marion Pittman-Couch was principal during Paisley's process to become recognized by the IBO and retired in 2007. Paisley Magnet School is currently searching for a new principal. Paisley houses more than 800 students from Forsyth County and the region. Students must complete a magnet school application for admission to Paisley if they are not a resident in Paisley's home school zone. The eleventh and twelfth grade IB Diploma Programme is housed at Parkland High School. The IB Primary Years Programme begins at Speas Elementary School for grades K–5.

West End Historic District is a national historic district located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 508 contributing buildings and 7 contributing structures, in a predominantly residential section of Winston-Salem. It was a planned picturesque streetcar suburb developed at the turn of the 20th century. The buildings date from about 1887 to 1930, and include notable examples of Classical Revival, Colonial Revival, Queen Anne, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed H. D. Poindexter Houses and Zevely House. Other notable buildings include the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (1928-1929) designed by Ralph Adams Cram, Augsburg Lutheran Church (1926), Friends Meeting House (1927), the First Church of Christ, Scientist (1924), and Joyner's West End Grocery.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Wake Forest provides a variety of medical services. It affiliates with multiple local medical centers for children and adults.

Brenner Children's Hospital is the 144-bed is "hospital within a hospital" affiliated with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It provides care to patients from birth to age 21 and is staffed by more than 120 full-time pediatric faculty members representing more than 30 areas of expertise, as well as all pediatric surgical specialties. Wake Forest University School of Medicine is the medical school of Wake Forest University, with two campuses located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. It is affiliated with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, the academic medical center whose clinical arm is Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. In 2021, U.S. News & World Report ranked Wake Forest School of Medicine 48th best for research in the nation and 80th best for primary care. The School of Medicine also ranks in the top third of U.S. medical schools in funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
