The Boulevard de la Bastille is the southwesternmost street of the 12th arrondissement of Paris, situated in the quartier called Quinze-Vingts. It overlooks the east side of the Paris marina, known as the Port de Plaisance or Port de l'Arsenal, with which it forms a boundary with the 4th arrondissement of Paris. (The Port de l'Arsenal is in fact the terminus of the Canal Saint-Martin, which begins at the Place de Stalingrad.) The boulevard also lies directly north (across the Seine) of the border between the 5th arrondissement and the 13th arrondissement of Paris.

The Bassin de l'Arsenal (also known as the Port de l'Arsenal) is a boat basin in Paris. It links the Canal Saint-Martin, which begins at the Place de la Bastille, to the Seine, at the Quai de la Rapée. A component of the Réseau des Canaux Parisiens (Parisian Canal Network), it forms part of the boundary between the 4th and the 12th arrondissements. It is bordered by the Boulevard Bourdon on the 4th (westerly) side and the Boulevard de la Bastille on the 12th (easterly) side. From the 16th century until the 19th, an arsenal existed at this location. The arsenal accounts for the name of the basin and the name of the neighborhood, Arsenal, bordering the westerly (4th arrondissement) side of the basin. After the destruction of the Bastille fortress in November 1789 (during the French Revolution), the Bassin de l'Arsenal was excavated to replace the ditch that had been in place to draw water from the Seine to fill the moat at the fortress. During the nineteenth century and most of the twentieth, the Bassin de l'Arsenal was a commercial port where goods were loaded and unloaded. Separated from the Seine by the Morland lockgate, the port was converted into a leisure port in 1983 by a decision of the Mairie de Paris (Paris City Hall) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and it is now run by the Association for the Leisure Port of Paris-Arsenal. The basin is part of France's national Voies navigables de France (VNF, Navigable Waterways of France) system. Since that time, it has been a marina (in French, a port de plaisance), for approximately 180 pleasure boats.

The Réunion des Musées Nationaux (RMN) is a French cultural umbrella organisation, an établissement public à caractère industriel et commercial (EPIC), formed in 2011 through the merger of the Paris National Museums and the Grand Palais.Its genesis came about in 1896 under the leadership of the French statesmen Raymond Poincaré and Georges Leygues, with the aim of purchasing works of art for national collections. The institution has three current directives: the welcoming of the public, the organizing of temporary exhibitions, and the holding of exhibitions and its permanent collections. The RMN is responsible for 34 national museums. Two statutes exist for these national museums; most are also public institutions with legal and financial autonomy. The others are services with national jurisdiction (SCN), attached to the Museums Department of France (SMF).

La Maison Rouge was a private contemporary art Foundation dedicated mainly to showing private art collections, monographic shows of contemporary artists' work. It was located close to the Bastille, in Paris, at 10 Boulevard de la Bastille in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. La Maison Rouge has been definitely closed in October 2018.

The Couvent des Célestins (In English: Convent of the Celestines), was an ancient convent located near the Place de la Bastille in Paris, France, active between 1254 and 1790. It was the second most important burial site for royalty after the Basilique Saint-Denis. The prestigious convent was located nearby Hôtel Saint-Pol, the favourite residence of Charles V and Charles VI in the area of the Marais. Many of the high-ranking princes from their court were buried in the convent. However the convent was desecrated during the French Revolution. After the revolution, some of the tombstones were recovered by Alexandre Lenoir. In particular the tombstone of the Latin king Leon V of Armenia was placed in his Musée des monuments Français, and later in the Saint-Denis Basilica. The convent gave its name to the modern Quai des Célestins.

Quai de la Rapée (French pronunciation: ​[kɛ d(ə) la ʁape]) is a station of the Paris Métro, serving line 5, located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris.

The Coulée verte René-Dumont or Promenade plantée (French for tree-lined walkway) or the Coulée verte (French for green course) is a 4.7 km (2.9 mi) elevated linear park built on top of obsolete railway infrastructure in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, France. It was inaugurated in 1993.

The Opéra Bastille (French: [ɔpeʁa bastij] (listen), "Bastille Opera House") is a modern opera house in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, France. Inaugurated in 1989 as part of President François Mitterrand's Grands Travaux, it became the main facility of the Paris National Opera, France's principal opera company, alongside the older Palais Garnier; most opera performances are shown at the Bastille along with some ballet performances and symphony concerts, while Palais Garnier presents a mix of opera and ballet performances. Designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, it is located on Place de la Bastille. It may seat 2,723 people in total, with a main theatre, concert hall and studio theatre.

Rue Crémieux is a one-block pedestrian street in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, originally built as workers' housing. The street has been widely recommended to tourists for its quaint painted housefronts, and has become a popular destination for filming and for social media photos.

Bastille (French pronunciation: [bastij] (listen)) is a station on Line 1, Line 5 and Line 8 of the Paris Métro. Located under the Place de la Bastille and near the former location of the Bastille, it is situated on the border of the 4th, 11th and 12th arrondissement.

The Place de la Bastille is a square in Paris where the Bastille prison once stood, until the storming of the Bastille and its subsequent physical destruction between 14 July 1789 and 14 July 1790 during the French Revolution. No vestige of the prison remains. The square straddles 3 arrondissements of Paris, namely the 4th, 11th and 12th. The square and its surrounding areas are normally called simply Bastille. The July Column (Colonne de Juillet) which commemorates the events of the July Revolution (1830) stands at the center of the square. Other notable features include the Bastille Opera, the Bastille subway station and a section of the Canal Saint Martin. Prior to 1984, the former Bastille railway station stood where the opera house now stands. The square is home to concerts and similar events. The north-eastern area of Bastille is busy at night with its many cafés, bars, night clubs, and concert halls. As a consequence of its historical significance, the square is often the site or point of departure of political demonstrations, including the massive anti-CPE demonstration of 28 March 2006.
