Comte de Flandre (French) or Graaf van Vlaanderen (Dutch) is a Brussels metro station located in the municipality of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, in the western part of Brussels (Belgium). It opened on 8 May 1981 as part of the Sainte-Catherine/Sint-Katelijne–Beekkant extension of former line 1. Following the reorganisation of the Brussels metro on 4 April 2009, it is served by lines 1 and 5, which cross Brussels from east to west. It takes its name from the nearby Rue du Comte de Flandre/Graaf van Vlaanderenstraat.

The Church of St. John the Baptist (French: Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Dutch: Sint-Jan-de-Doperkerk) is a Roman Catholic parish church located in the centre of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium. It is dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, the patron saint of Molenbeek. Designed by the architect Joseph Diongre and built between 1930 and 1932 in Art Deco style, it is one of three major churches in Brussels made of reinforced concrete (the other two are the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Koekelberg and the Church of St. Augustine in Forest). Belonging to the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Mechelen–Brussels, the church and the Catholic parish it belongs to gave their name to the municipality. The building received protected status on 29 February 1984.The church is located on the northern side of the Parvis Saint Jean-Baptiste/Sint-Jan-Baptistvoorplein, not far from the Place Communale/Gemeenteplaats (the municipal square of Molenbeek). This site is served by Comte de Flandre/Graaf van Vlaanderen metro station on line 5 of the Brussels Metro.

The Municipal Hall (French: Hôtel communal, Dutch: Gemeentehuis) of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean is the municipal hall building and the seat of that municipality of Brussels, Belgium. Designed by the architect Jean-Baptiste Janssens and completed in 1886, it is located at 20, rue du Comte de Flandre/Graaf van Vlaanderenstraat. This site is served by Comte de Flandre/Graaf van Vlaanderen metro station on line 5 of the Brussels Metro.

The MigratieMuseumMigration (MMM) is a Belgian migration museum at Rue des Ateliers/Werkhuizenstraat 17 in Molenbeek, in the Brussels-Capital Region, which opened in October 2019. It is one of the 235 (as of 2024) museums to which access is provided by the Belgian national "Museum Pass" and one of the 49 (as of 2024) museums included in the "Brussels Card".The museum was founded in 2019 by the Foyer de Molenbeek-Saint Jean, which had been established in 1969.People from about 180 countries live in the capital region of Brussels, and the museum presents the history of the first guest workers, the homeless, the war refugees and also the European internal migrants. The museum "pays tribute to the many migrants who have helped shape the city".

The Millennium Iconoclast Museum of Art (MIMA) is a contemporary art museum in the Molenbeek-Saint-Jean municipality of Brussels, Belgium. It is a privately owned non-profit museum which was founded in 2016.

The Anspach Fountain (French: Fontaine Anspach, Dutch: Anspachfontein) is an eclectic-style fountain-obelisk erected in 1897 in the centre of the Place de Brouckère/De Brouckèreplein in Brussels, Belgium. Designed by the architect Charles-Émile Janlet, it is dedicated to the memory of Jules Anspach, a former mayor of the City of Brussels.The monument was dismantled in 1973 following construction work on the Brussels Metro. It was reinstalled in 1981 in its current location on the Square des Blindés/Pantsertroepensquare, between the Quai aux Briques/Baksteenkaai and the Quai au Bois à Brûler/Brandhoutkaai, in the Sainte-Catherine/Sint Katelijne neighbourhood.

The Square Sainctelette (Dutch: Sainctelettesquare) is a square located in the City of Brussels municipality of Brussels, Belgium. It lies along the Brussels–Charleroi Canal, on the border with the Molenbeek-Saint-Jean municipality, from which it is separated by the canal. It is named in honour of Charles-Xavier Sainctelette, a former Belgian minister for public works.

Office Baroque is a Belgian contemporary art gallery situated in Antwerp. The gallery was originally incorporated in 2007 in an apartment on Harmoniestraat in Antwerp by Marie Denkens and Wim Peeters. The gallery has occupied a location on Lange Kievitstraat in Antwerp from 2008 till 2013. It opened its first gallery in Brussels on 7 November 2013 with an exhibition by French/American artist Michel Auder in a 1909 cast-iron building by the Brussels architect Paul Hamesse who was part of the Art Nouveau generation. In September 2015, Office Baroque opened a second gallery space in the vicinity of the Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels. In September 2020 the gallery relocated to its original space on Harmoniestraat in Antwerp. The gallery is named after one of Gordon Matta-Clark’s public interventions, untimely demolished after extensive protests in Antwerp in 1980. The gallery represents American, Asian and European artists and has produced exhibitions and publications. Office Baroque presents exhibitions at international art fairs such as Frieze Art Fair, London; FIAC, Paris; Art Basel, Miami Beach; Independent, New York.

The 2023 Brussels shooting was an Islamist terrorist attack carried out at about 19:15 (CEST) on 16 October when Abdesalem Lassoued, a 45-year-old Tunisian living illegally in Brussels, Belgium, opened fire on Swedish football supporters at the intersection of two boulevards just off the Square Sainctelette, leaving two dead and one injured. The victims were on their way to a football match at the King Baudouin Stadium. Lassoued fled the scene, and soon after a video was posted on social media in which he claimed responsibility for the attack. The Belgian federal prosecutor immediately concentrated its investigation on a terrorist motive. The following morning, Lassoued was tracked down to a café in the Schaerbeek municipality where he was shot by Belgian police and died on the way to hospital. Following the attack, the terror threat level for Brussels was raised from 2 to 4, the highest level. In the rest of Belgium, it was raised from level 2 to 3. After Lassoued's death, Brussels was lowered to level 3, the same as the rest of the country. Four days after the attack, Belgian Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne resigned after it emerged that an extradition request by Tunisia for Lassoued in August 2022 had not been followed up by Belgian magistrates.

Sainte-Catherine (French) or Sint-Katelijne (Dutch) is a Brussels metro station. It is located at the Place Sainte-Catherine/Sint-Katelijneplein, between the Quai aux Briques/Baksteenkaai and the Quai au Bois à Brûler/Brandhoutkaai, in the municipality of the City of Brussels (Belgium). It is also situated near St. Catherine's Church, which gives the station its name. The station was inaugurated on 13 April 1977, when Brussels' first metro line (line 1) was converted from premetro (underground tram) to heavy metro. Following the reorganisation of the Brussels metro on 4 April 2009, it is served by lines 1 and 5, which use the same tracks at this point.

The Brussels Shot Tower is a shot tower located in Brussels, Belgium. It was built in 1898 at the site of a former gunpowder factory that dated back to 1832. The shot tower was used until 1962, making the last one to remain in use in Belgium. It was classified as a National Heritage Site (number 2043-0092/0) in 1984.The round brick structure is 46 metres (151 ft) high. At its base, it is 4.7 metres (15 ft) in diameter, narrowing to 3.1 metres (10 ft) at the top. It originally had a lantern at the top, and a dome with a weathervane on it.
