Piner High School

Piner Creek is a stream in northeast Santa Rosa, California, United States (38°27′40″N 122°45′05″W) which originates as an outlet of Fountaingrove Lake. Piner Creek discharges to Santa Rosa Creek which in turn joins the Laguna de Santa Rosa. The upper reaches in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains are at elevations of 200 to 300 feet (60 to 90 meters), while the lower and middle reaches are located on the Santa Rosa Plain at elevations of between the 110- and 140-foot (33- and 43-meter) contours; therefore, these lower reaches have a gradient of about 1:250 toward the southwest. Geologic studies in the lower and middle reaches of Piner Creek indicate groundwater levels ranging from three to 15 feet (one to 5 meters) below the surface. Prior to extensive urban development of the middle and lower reaches, the landscape earlier bore extensive agricultural uses including plum orchards, which fruit was subsequently processed for prunes. The Piner Creek watershed consists of 4,048 acres (16.4 km2), approximately three-fourths of which lies within the municipal boundaries of the city of Santa Rosa. About one-third of the watershed is developed as residential use, and about one-sixth of the land is open space or used for recreation or agriculture. One of the early surviving architectural features of Sonoma County is within the Piner Creek catchment basin: A well preserved Round Barn, constructed in 1899, a testament to the 19th century pasturage uses within this watershed.

Rancho Llano de Santa Rosa was a 13,316-acre (53.89 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Sonoma County, California given in 1844 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena to Joaquín Carrillo. The name means "Plains of Santa Rosa". The grant was west of Santa Rosa along the Laguna de Santa Rosa and encompassed present-day Sebastopol, California.

The Moonlight Brewing Company is a brewery founded in 1992 by Brian Hunt in Santa Rosa, California, USA. It is best known for its flagship beers, Death & Taxes Black Beer and Reality Czeck-style Pilsner, which are popular in Sonoma County, California. In 2008, it received the Best Brewery award at the 17th annual Santa Rosa Beerfest.

KSRO (1350 AM) is a commercial radio station broadcasting a news/talk radio format. KSRO is licensed to Santa Rosa, California, and serves the Sonoma County area. The station is owned by Lawrence Amaturo, through licensee Amaturo Sonoma Media Group, LLC.By day, KSRO transmits 5,000 watts non-directional, but at night, to protect other stations from interference, it uses a directional antenna with a two-tower array. The transmitter is off Stony Point Road in Santa Rosa. KSRO programming is also heard on three FM translators: K278CD, broadcasting at 103.5 MHz in Santa Rosa, and 94.5 K233CM and 96.9 K245DJ in Petaluma.

Santa Rosa North station (known as Santa Rosa–Guerneville Road during planning) is a Sonoma–Marin Area Rail Transit train station in Santa Rosa. It opened to preview service on July 1, 2017; full commuter service commenced on August 25, 2017. The station is located on Guerneville Road 0.3 miles (0.5 km) west of the Coddingtown Mall. The station closed October 28–31, 2019 due to the loss of power at crossings due to shutoffs.

Rancho San Miguel was a 6,663-acre (26.96 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Sonoma County, California given in 1840 by Governor Juan B. Alvarado to William Marcus West. The grant was located north of present-day Santa Rosa, between Mark West Creek and Santa Rosa Creek, and encompassed present-day Mark West and Mark West Springs.

The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center is a museum dedicated to the works of Charles M. Schulz, creator of the Peanuts comic strip. The museum opened on August 17, 2002, two years after Schulz died, and is in Santa Rosa, California. The museum is home to many of the original Peanuts strips, as well as other artwork by Schulz. Two works by Japanese artist Yoshiteru Otani dominate the Great Hall: a 3.5-ton wood sculpture depicting the evolution of Snoopy and a 22 ft (6.7 m)-high ceramic mural made of 3,588 Peanuts strips which combine to form the image of Lucy van Pelt holding the football for Charlie Brown to kick it. Among the museum's permanent exhibits are a work by Christo which depicts Snoopy's doghouse wrapped, an exhibition of foreign language editions of Peanuts books, Schulz's personal studio and tributes to Schulz from other artists. Inside the museum are three rotating galleries with exhibits that change every year. The museum is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Redwood Empire Ice Arena (commonly known as Snoopy's Home Ice) is an indoor ice rink in Santa Rosa, California, United States. It was owned and built by Peanuts cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, and it opened on April 28, 1969. It was originally conceived, designed, and operated by his first wife Joyce Schulz.The Arena offers public skating, private ice time, figure skating, junior hockey, and adult hockey. It is also host to the annual Snoopy's Senior World Hockey Tournament, in which 64-70 senior teams from all over the world come to Santa Rosa for a week-long hockey tournament in the summer. The arena has about 500 permanent seats for hockey games, but this can be expanded to 3,000 seats for concerts and other events. The arena is also home to the junior hockey Santa Rosa Flyers, the Cardinal Newman High School hockey team, and the Santa Rosa Figure Skating Club. The Arena, located just down the street from the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center, features The Warm Puppy Café, which serves cafe drinks and meals. Across the parking lot from the Arena is Snoopy's Gallery and Gift Shop where people can buy Peanuts-related products as well as figure skating and hockey equipment. In the summer of 2019, the ice rink was closed and underwent renovations for the first time since the arena opened a half-century earlier. The rink re-opened in November. The ice arena is also the home of the Santa Rosa Growlers, a new Senior A team in the Mountain West Hockey League.

Fulton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sonoma County, California, United States. Fulton is just to the north of the city limits of Santa Rosa, and 7 miles (11 km) north-northeast of Sebastopol. Fulton has a post office, established in 1871 and assigned ZIP code 95439. The community is named after Thomas and James Fulton, who founded the community. The population as of the 2010 U.S. Census was 541. There are a set of railway lines which go through the town boundaries; these lines are used by Sonoma–Marin Area Rail Transit (or the SMART Train). Fulton was once home to a chicken processing plant that was in operation from the 1960s until its closure in 2010.

The Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (sometimes called the LBC), and previously known as the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts from March 2005 to March 2016) is a performance venue located just north of Santa Rosa, California, near U.S. 101. The facility is owned and operated by the Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation, a non-profit arts organization established in 1979.

Coddingtown Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Santa Rosa, California, United States. Opened in 1962, the mall is anchored by JCPenney, Macy's, Nordstrom Rack, Target, and Whole Foods Market. It is fully owned and operated by Codding Enterprises. Coddingtown is one of two enclosed shopping malls in Santa Rosa, the other being Santa Rosa Plaza, which is located 2 mi (3.2 km) south of Coddingtown in downtown Santa Rosa off of US Highway 101.

Empire College is a private for-profit college in Santa Rosa, California. Founded in 1961, The college offers business and law degrees and was formerly accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). However, in 2016 the United States Secretary of Education denied ACICS's accrediting status for failing to meet 21 recognition criteria. It is accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. In February 2020, the school announced that it was closing its School of Business over the next 18 months, citing lower enrollment that was worsened by three years of wildfires.
