The National Institute of Health Sciences and Nutrition “Salvador Zubirán” (Spanish: Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán) is one of the twelve national institutes part of the Mexican Secretariat of Health. Its main functions and services include medical research, specialized medical attention and health education for future professionals. It is located in the Tlalpan borough in the south of Mexico City where the main hospitals in the city are located. David Kershenobich Stalnikowitz currently manages the institute.

The Universidad del Valle de México (UVM) is a private university founded in 1960 and one of the largest university systems in Mexico.The school enrolls more than 120,000 students, and has approximately 11,900 faculty members and 6,900 staff employees. UVM has more than 200,000 alumni and offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs on 38 campuses throughout Mexico. The Instituto Nacional de Cancerología (National Cancer Institute, abbreviated INCan) is a public institution administered by the Mexican Secretariat of Health which specializes in the treatment of cancer. It is one of 12 specialized hospitals that provides public health services and trains new resident doctors. It was created on November 25, 1946, by then-President Manuel Ávila Camacho.

Estadio Azteca is a station on the Xochimilco Light Rail, belonging to the only existing line of the system. It is located in the south of Mexico City on the border between the boroughs of Tlalpan and Coyoacán.

Estadio Azteca (American Spanish: [esˈtaðjo asˈteka]) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Mexico City. It is the official home of football clubs Club América and Cruz Azul, as well as the Mexico national team. The stadium sits at an altitude of 2,200 m (7,200 feet) above sea level. With a capacity of 87,523, it is the largest stadium in Mexico and Latin America and the eighth largest association football stadium in the world. Regarded as one of the most famous and iconic football stadiums in the world, it is the first to have hosted two FIFA World Cup Finals; the 1970 World Cup Final, where Brazil defeated Italy 4–1, and the 1986 World Cup Final, where Argentina defeated West Germany 3–2. It also hosted the 1986 quarter-final match between Argentina and England in which Diego Maradona scored both the "Hand of God goal" and the "Goal of the Century". The Estadio Azteca is the only football stadium in the world to have both Pelé (1970) and Diego Maradona (1986) win the FIFA World Cup, both of whom are considered among the greatest football players of all time. The stadium also hosted the "Game of the Century", when Italy defeated West Germany 4–3 in extra time in one of the 1970 semifinal matches. The stadium was also the principal venue for the football tournament of the 1968 Summer Olympics and the 1971 Women's World Cup. The stadium is scheduled to host games during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making it the only stadium to host three editions of the FIFA World Cup.Additionally, the National Football League (NFL) features one game at Estadio Azteca per season as a part of its International Series.

The semi-final of the 1970 FIFA World Cup between Italy and West Germany has been called the "Game of the Century" (Spanish: Partido del Siglo; Italian: Partita del secolo; German: Jahrhundertspiel). It was played on 17 June 1970 at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. Italy won 4–3 after five of the seven goals were scored in extra time, the record for most goals scored during extra time in a FIFA World Cup game. The result eliminated West Germany from the tournament while Italy went on to lose to Brazil in the final.

The 1967 World Cup took place 9–12 November at the Club de Golf Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico. It was the 15th World Cup event, which was named the Canada Cup until 1966 and changed its name to the World Cup in 1967. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 40 teams. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The American team of Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer won by 13 strokes over the New Zealand team of Bob Charles and Walter Godfrey. The individual competition was won by Palmer.

The 1958 Canada Cup took place 20–23 November at the Club de Golf México in Mexico City, Mexico. It was the sixth Canada Cup event, which became the World Cup in 1967. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 32 teams. These were the same 30 teams that had competed in 1957 without Thailand but with the addition of Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. Each team consisted of two players from a country. The combined score of each team determined the team results. The Irish team of Harry Bradshaw and Christy O'Connor Snr won by three strokes over the Spanish team of Ángel Miguel and Sebastián Miguel. The individual competition was won by Ángel Miguel, who beat Harry Bradshaw at the third hole of a sudden-death playoff.

The Lorena Ochoa Invitational was a women's professional golf tournament in México on the LPGA Tour. Hosted by Lorena Ochoa, the event debuted in November 2008 at the course where she learned to play, Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara. The Lorena Ochoa Invitational was a 72-hole limited-field tournament, limited to 36 golfers. The top five in the Rolex Women's World Rankings were invited, in addition to the top 26 players on the LPGA money list not already in the field via the rankings. Another five players were invited through sponsor exemptions. In 2014, the tournament moved to the Club de Golf México in Mexico City, a par-72 layout set at 6,684 yards (6,112 m).In November 2016, it was announced that the event would move to the first week of May in 2017 as a match play event, the Lorena Ochoa Match Play, with a field of 64 players and $1.2 million purse. The event was not included on the 2018 schedule. During the fall of 2018, Mexican media outlets reported a possible return in time for the event to be included in the 2019 LPGA Tour season.

The Metropolitan Autonomous University (Spanish: Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana) also known as UAM, is a Mexican public university. Founded in 1974 with the support of then-President Luis Echeverria Alvarez, the institution aims to be closely linked to the social and human environment.As an autonomous university, UAM is a public agency of the Mexican government. It has five academic units located in Mexico City and Greater Mexico City: Azcapotzalco, in north, Iztapalapa, in east, Cuajimalpa, in west, Xochimilco, in south, and Lerma in State of Mexico.), The institution is among the top academic universities in Mexico. In 2019, it ranked first among both public and private institution, was second in the number of full-time research professors with doctorates, according to the Comparative Study of Mexican Universities (Estudio Comparativo de Universidades Mexicanas); having the second largest number of built in National and Research System (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores) the second in having researchers at Level 3 of the same researchers. One of the leading universities in Mexico to submit the highest number of research. And the second institution to have publications in refereed journals, such as the Institute for Scientific Information, Latindex and journals included in the Index of Mexican Journals of Scientific and Technological Research of the National Council of Science and Technology (Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología) and the second to have magazines within the Conacyt, it is also among the top four with the largest number of patents granted in Mexico.

The 1966 Eisenhower Trophy took place October 27 to 30 at the Club de Golf Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico. It was the fifth World Amateur Team Championship for the Eisenhower Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 32 four-man teams. The best three scores for each round counted towards the team total. Australia won the Eisenhower Trophy for the second time, finishing two strokes ahead of the silver medalists, United States. Great Britain and Ireland finished four strokes behind the United States and took the bronze medal while South Africa finished fourth. Ronnie Shade, representing Great Britain and Ireland, was the leading individual with a score of 283, 5 under par, seven strokes better than Patrick Cros from France.

Instituto Global para la Sostenibilidad (Global Institute for Sustainability) is a globally and environmentally focused organization founded by María Isabel Studer Noguez at the Tec de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus in collaboration with Arizona State University (ASU). It was founded as an extension of the ASU's Global Institute for Sustainability as an extension, the first and only one of its kind in Latin America. The institute holds and sponsors research, educational events and program and activism on its own and in collaboration with business, educational and governmental agencies.
