White Bay (New South Wales)

Rozelle Bay is a bay located to the south of Glebe Island and the west of Blackwattle Bay, on Sydney Harbour. The naming of the bay is derived from either the Rosella bird or the Rosella plant, with the latter being more likely, due to the other names in the area that have botanic origins.A light rail station on the Dulwich Hill Line is named after the bay. Rozelle Bay is fed by Johnstons Creek and Whites Creek. The dockyard of the Sydney Heritage Fleet is located on the western shore of Rozelle Bay.

Glebe Island was a major port facility in Sydney Harbour and, in association with the adjacent White Bay facility, was the primary receiving venue for imported cars and dry bulk goods in the region until 2008. It is surrounded by White, Johnstons, and Rozelle Bays. Whilst retaining its original title as an "island", it has long been infilled to the shoreline of the suburb of Rozelle and connected by the Glebe Island Bridge (and its replacement the Anzac Bridge) to Pyrmont.

The Lever Brothers Factory was a soap factory in the suburb of Balmain in Sydney, Australia, which operated from 1895 until 1988. It employed many people from the local area and its large industrial buildings were a prominent feature of the landscape. Most of the site was demolished in 1996 to make way for an apartment complex, and only three of the original buildings remain.

Balmain Hospital (formerly Balmain Cottage Hospital and Balmain District Hospital) is a public hospital in the suburb of Balmain in Sydney, Australia. It was founded in 1885 and provides outpatient, rehabilitation, aged care and general practice/casualty services.The hospital commenced operation in 1885 in an adapted cottage, which survives as the hospital's administration building and is now heritage listed. A series of additions and new buildings occurred throughout its early decades: a new wing (the Evans Ward) opened in March 1890, a new outpatient, women's and children's wing (the Victoria Ward) opened in September 1901, it underwent major refurbishment in 1908 and a new children's ward opened in September 1924.It expanded significantly in the 1920s, increasing from 40 beds to 120 beds and experiencing a doubling of treated patients. Complaints about run-down, overcrowded and otherwise poor hospital facilities were common through the late 1920s and into the 1930s. New women's and children's wards opened in 1935 and new nurses quarters' (Stacey House) in 1937. A major new four-storey building, Thornton House, was added in 1943.The hospital underwent a significant downgrade and refocus c. 1993, with the closure of the emergency department and change in focus to provide primarily for aged care and rehabilitation, though a new casualty department opened shortly afterwards to deal with remaining unmet need.The Balmain Hospital Main Building is listed on the New South Wales Heritage Register.

The Bald Rock Hotel is a heritage-listed pub in the suburb of Rozelle, overlooking White Bay in the inner west region of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is the oldest continuously licensed hotel still operating in the Balmain and Rozelle area.

Balmain Hospital Main Building is a hospital building and former cottage in Balmain, Inner West Council, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It was the original building of and remains the administration building for the Balmain Hospital. It was designed by E. J. Bowen and built in 1880. It is also known as the Administration Building, and includes the Evans Ward and the Victoria Ward. The property is owned by the NSW Department of Health. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

The Balmain Reservoir is a 2,376,000-imperial-gallon (10.80 ML) disused, covered reservoir located under Gladstone Park in Balmain, in the Inner West of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

The Kent Hotel is a former pub in the inner-western Sydney suburb of Balmain, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Workers from the nearby Booth's Saw Mill and later Lever and Kitchen, were regular patrons at the hotel.The building is now a private residence but retains a sign with the words The Kent on the front veranda as a reminder of its historic past.

The Anzac Bridge is an eight-lane cable-stayed bridge that carries the Western Distributor (A4) across Johnstons Bay between Pyrmont and Glebe Island (part of the suburb of Rozelle), on the western fringe of the Sydney central business district, New South Wales, Australia. The bridge forms part of the road network leading from the central business district, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and Cross City Tunnel to the Inner West and Northern Suburbs.

The Beach Hotel is a historic de-licensed pub in the suburb of Rozelle, above White Bay in the Inner West of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is currently a private residence after having been in a long state of abandonment.

The Volunteer Hotel was a pub in the suburb of Balmain in the Inner West of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The pub is named because of its association with a group of volunteer firefighters. The fire bell was located across the road in Darling Street and when it rang, the volunteers would gather and proceed on to the fire. Once their work was complete, they would meet at the hotel for refreshment. The hotel was established before November 1865.The hotel closed in 1928 and from 1930 was the location of Mrs Riley's confectionery shop. It is now a private residence.

The White Bay Cruise Terminal is a terminal for cruise ships on Sydney Harbour. The terminal is located at the eastern end of the White Bay wharves, on the northern shore of White Bay. It opened on 15 April 2013 as a replacement for Wharf 8 on Darling Harbour which closed to make way for the Barangaroo development.The terminal building was constructed within and amongst a twin-beam gantry structure originally constructed in the 1960s for gantry cranes for container use. In October 2013 it won the transport section at the World Architecture Festival. The Overseas Passenger Terminal remains as Sydney's primary terminal, with the White Bay Cruise Terminal only taking those vessels which can fit under the Sydney Harbour Bridge. When the terminal is occupied, Captain Cook Cruises operate a ferry service to Barangaroo.A 2017 study into implementing shore power at the White Bay Cruise Terminal estimated the implementation cost to be $36 million causing the NSW State Government to rule out implementing it. On 21 March 2022 it was announced that approximately $60 million would be spent to enable shore power at the terminal from 2024.
