Šalovci

The Municipality of Šalovci (pronounced [ˈʃaːlɔu̯tsi]; Slovene: Občina Šalovci) is a municipality in the traditional region of Prekmurje in northeastern Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Šalovci. Šalovci became a municipality in 1994.

Krplivnik (pronounced [kəɾˈpliːu̯nik]; Hungarian: Kapornak) is a village on the right bank of the Big Krka River (Slovene: Velika Krka) in the Municipality of Hodoš in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia. It is separated into two hamlets: Veliki Krplivnik in the west and Mali Krplivnik to the east, right on the border with Hungary.

Hodoš (pronounced [ˈxóːdɔʃ]; Hungarian: Hodos or Őrihodos, German: Hodosch) is a village in Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Hodoš. It is part of the Prekmurje region.

Dolenci (pronounced [dɔˈleːntsi]; Hungarian: Dolány) is a village in the Municipality of Šalovci in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia, on the border with Hungary. The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Nicholas and belongs to the Murska Sobota Diocese. The original parts of the church date to 1331, but it was expanded in the 16th century and in the late 18th century. It has a rectangular nave with a Gothic sanctuary and a belfry on its western facade.

Hodoš railway station (Slovene: Železniška postaja Hodoš; Hungarian: Őrihodos or Hodos vasútállomás) serves the municipality of Hodoš, Slovenia. It was opened in 1907, and is the last station on the line from Ormož, Slovenia, before the border crossing between Slovenia and Hungary. The portion of the Ormož–Hodoš line between Murska Sobota and Hodoš was closed in 1968, along with many similar line closures elsewhere in Slovenia. However, in 1999-2001 the line was rebuilt, in a less winding form, as part of one of the new European transit corridors. The rebuilt line is designed to cater for international trains travelling at up to 160 kilometres per hour (99 mph). Since the completion of the rebuilding work, Hodoš railway station has been the shared border station on the only railway line crossing the border between Slovenia and Hungary.

The Municipality of Hodoš (Slovene: Občina Hodoš [ˈóːptʃina ˈxóːdɔʃ]; Hungarian: Hodos község [ˈhodoʃ ˈkøʃʃeːɡ]) is a municipality in Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the village of Hodoš (Hungarian: Hodos). It is part of the Prekmurje region. Both Slovene and Hungarian are official languages in the municipality. The municipality was established on 7 August 1998, when it was separated from the former Municipality of Hodoš–Šalovci. Hodoš is one of the two municipalities in Slovenia where ethnic Slovenes are a minority; the other is Dobrovnik (Hungarian: Dobronak). The majority of the population is Lutheran.

Domanjševci (pronounced [dɔˈmaːnʃɛu̯tsi]; in older sources also Domanjšovci, Hungarian: Domonkosfa) is a village in the Municipality of Šalovci in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia, right on the border with Hungary. There are two churches in the settlement. The Roman Catholic church is built on a small hill southwest of the settlement in the middle of a small cemetery and is dedicated to Saint Martin. It is a single-nave brick building with a Romanesque portal dating to the 13th century. It was originally dedicated to Saint Wenceslas. The Lutheran church in the settlement was built in 1902 in a Neo-Romanesque style. Its designer was the architect Alojz Kleiber. The poet, writer, and teacher István Szijjártó lived and died in the village.

Peskovci (pronounced [pɛˈskoːu̯tsi]; Hungarian: Petőfa) is a small village immediately east of Gornji Petrovci in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia.

Budinci (pronounced [ˈbuːdintsi]; Hungarian: Bűdfalva, Prekmurje Slovene: Büdinci) is a dispersed village in the Municipality of Šalovci in the Prekmurje region of Slovenia. The northernmost tip of Slovenia is within the village's territory to the northwest of the main settlement with a latitude of 46° 52′ 37″. There is a simple two-storey belfry in the southeastern part of the settlement, opposite the cemetery. It dates to the first half of the 20th century.

Kercaszomor (Slovene: Krčica-Somorovci) is a village in Vas county, Hungary. It was created in 1942 by the unification of two villages (Kerca and Szomoróc). It has very little water access and is in the middle of land no large bodies of water around it.

The Szomoróc uprising was an uprising led by József Rankay in Szomoróc against the authorities of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, who previoudly invaded the region on 12 August 1919.
