Carlyon Bay

Cornwall Coliseum was a sport and entertainment venue located at Carlyon Bay near St Austell, Cornwall, England. It hosted exhibitions, tennis tournaments and many concerts by leading musicians, but lost its importance with the opening of the Plymouth Pavilions in 1991.

Carlyon (Cornish: Karleghyon, meaning fort of rock-slabs) is one of four new civil parishes created on 1 April 2009 for the St Austell area of south Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The new parish is part coastal and part rural in character. It includes the settlements of Carlyon Bay, Garker and Tregrehan Mills and is represented by nine councillors.Carlyon Bay, the principal settlement in the parish, is approximately two miles (3 km) east of St Austell.

St Blazey Gate (Cornish: Yet Lanndreth) is a settlement in south Cornwall, England, United Kingdom in the civil parish of St Blaise. It is situated between the towns of St Blazey and Par on the A390 to St Austell. The settlement formed around a toll gate on the turnpike road to St Austell. The toll house is now a private residence.St Mary's Church is the parish church of Church of England parish of Par. It was built on land given by Edward Carlyon the owner of the nearby Tregrehan House and was consecrated on 1 November 1849. It was designed by George Edmund Street, his first commission, and built from the local reddish coloured Biscovey slate with quoins of Pentewan stone from the cliffs near Mevagissey.The Biscovey Stone is the shaft of an ancient Celtic cross. It was inscribed but the text is no longer readable. There are several theories about the stone, one says it dates from around 600 AD to show the Saxon advance into the county, another puts the date at around 900 AD. The head is thought to have been removed during the reformation. The stone served as a gate post near the St Blazey turnpike gate. In 1896 it was moved to St Mary's Church.

Wheal Eliza is a cricket ground in Holmbush, to the east of St Austell, Cornwall. The ground is bordered to the south by Holmbush Road, to the east by the A391 road and to the north and west by housing. The end names of the ground are the Jewson End and the Britannia End. Facilities include two playing fields with their own changing room facilities enabling two competitive matches to be played every match day. The ground also has a pavilion, scorebox, artificial and grass nets.

The Shipwreck Treasure Museum (previously the Charlestown Shipwreck & Heritage Centre) located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Charlestown, Cornwall, England, is a historical museum housing over 8,000 artifacts from over 150 different shipwrecks. Artifacts include the only intact barrel of coins ever recovered from a wreck, and items relating to famous shipwrecks, including the RMS Titanic and HMS Victory. In 2019 the historic network of tunnels beneath the museum (originally built to transport China Clay) were reopened to the public as 'Charlestown Underground'.

Par (Cornish: An Porth, meaning creek or harbour) is a village and fishing port with a harbour on the south coast of Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village is situated in the civil parish of Tywardreath and Par, although West Par and the docks lie in the parish of St Blaise. Par is approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east of St Austell. Par has a population of around 1,600 (in 2012). It became developed in the second quarter of the 19th century when the harbour was developed, to serve copper mines and other mineral sites in and surrounding the Luxulyan Valley; china clay later became the dominant traffic as copper working declined, and the harbour and the china clay dries remain as distinctive features of the industrial heritage; however the mineral activity is much reduced. Par Harbour and the beach at Par Sands are south of the village, and the latter includes a large static caravan holiday park; another small beach is at Spit Point west of the harbour. Between these two beaches the South West Coast Path takes an inland diversion through the village. Par lies in a triangle of streets which form a one-way traffic system. There is a variety of shops, a post office, a public house and other businesses.

Charlestown (Cornish: Porth Meur, meaning great cove) is a village and port on the south coast of Cornwall, England, in the civil parish of St Austell Bay. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3 km) south east of St Austell town centre.The port at Charlestown developed in the late 18th century from the fishing village of West Polmear. Whereas other areas of St Austell have seen much development during the 20th century, Charlestown has remained relatively unchanged.

Bodelva (Cornish: Boselwydh) is a hamlet in south Cornwall, England, UK, in the civil parish of St Blaise. It is about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of St Blazey. Bodelva is the location of the Eden Project, opened in 2001, a horticultural visitor attraction built in a china clay quarry.

Par Docks is an Imerys-owned harbour in the village of Par, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, which was used for the export of china clay from the numerous Imerys sites in the clay-rich region of Mid-Cornwall.

St Blazey engine shed is located in Par, Cornwall, United Kingdom, although it is named after the adjacent village of St Blazey. It was built in 1874 as the headquarters of the Cornwall Minerals Railway but for many years was a depot of the Great Western Railway. The current depot operator (in 2016) is DB Cargo and the depot TOPS code is BZ.

The Clay Trails are a series of bicycle trails located in mid Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The trails pass through the St Austell moorland which for over two centuries has been extensively quarried for china clay, hence the name. The trails are separated into several routes.

St Paul's Church is a Church of England church in Charlestown, Cornwall, England, UK. It was built in 1849-51 and has been Grade II listed since 1999.
