Hale End is a locality in East London in the borough of Waltham Forest, very near Woodford Green, two miles from Tottenham and one mile from Walthamstow. It adjoins Highams Park in the E4 postal district. Much of Highams Park until the late 19th century used to be called Hale End. The newspaper's weekly circulation is 2,508 copies, according to ABC figures for July to December 2017.The paper is part of the Guardian Series of local newspapers, which also included the Chingford Guardian, Wanstead and Woodford Guardian, and the Epping Forest Guardian. The group is owned by Newsquest, which also prints dozens of local and regional papers across the UK.

Chingford Hatch was one of the three hamlets comprising the old parish of Chingford, before the area was developed in the nineteenth century. The name is still widely used for the area immediately around Hatch Lane (A1009) at the foot of Friday Hill (OS Grid Reference TQ389930). Saint Anne's Church serves the area and is located in Larkshall Road (at the western end of Hatch Lane). Originating in 1891 as a Mission Room, a permanent church was built and given its own separate parish in 1953. Close to St Anne's is The Larks Hall public house, a timber-framed building that prior to the 1980s was Larks Hall Farm.

The Highams Estate is a housing estate in Waltham Forest in East London, near to Hale End (Highams Park) and Woodford Green. The area was developed by Thomas Courtenay Warner, within the grounds of the former Highams Manor House in the 1930s.

The A104 is an A road which runs from Islington Green in London to Epping in Essex, England.At its southern end, the A104 meets the A1 near Angel London Underground station in Islington. The route passes through Canonbury, Dalston, Hackney, Clapton, Leyton, Woodford and Buckhurst Hill before meeting the A121 at the Wake Arms roundabout. The northern terminus of the route is approximately 2.7 miles (4.3 km) south of St John's Church in Epping town centre, and approximately 1.3 miles (2.1 km) east of the M25 motorway at junction 26.

Whitefield Schools It is a special school in Walthamstow in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, offering support for children with a wide range of special physical, educational and behavioural needs and difficulties. The school became part of the Whitefield Academy Trust multi-academy trust in April 2014. The same site also contains the Whitefield's Research and Development Centre, home of the academy's training functions, an outreach service and a specialist library. Woodford County High School For Girls, formerly Woodford County High School (WCHS) is a secondary all-girls selective grammar school in Woodford Green of the London Borough of Redbridge, England. The school was opened in 1919. Woodford County's brother school for boys is Ilford County High School. Woodford County High School has seven Years (7–13) . To gain a place in the lower school, children take the 11-plus exam via the local authority, the London Borough of Redbridge. Redbridge offer the top 180 girls from the 11-plus exam results a place at Woodford County High School where, upon entry, girls are allocated to one of 6 individual 'forms' of 30 students each. Every student for Years 7-13 is part of a different school 'house'. These houses are Repton (blue), Warner (yellow), Highams (green) and Newton (red). There are many roles that students are encouraged to volunteer for within the day-to-day running of the school, including representation of peers on the 'school council' and becoming 'Silver Badges' (Y12/13 6th Formers with additional responsibilities). 6th Form (Y12/13) places at the school are highly sought after, and applications to attend 6th Form are open to those who have attended schools other than Woodford County High School in Years 7 to 11. This school offers a wide range of GCSE subjects, including Classical Civilisation, psychology, and business studies, among many others.Although the school is part of the Borough of Redbridge school system, the school buildings themselves are located in the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
