Chingford and Woodford Green (UK Parliament constituency)

Chingford Hatch was one of the three hamlets comprising the old parish of Chingford, before the area was developed in the nineteenth century. The name is still widely used for the area immediately around Hatch Lane (A1009) at the foot of Friday Hill (OS Grid Reference TQ389930). Saint Anne's Church serves the area and is located in Larkshall Road (at the western end of Hatch Lane). Originating in 1891 as a Mission Room, a permanent church was built and given its own separate parish in 1953. Close to St Anne's is The Larks Hall public house, a timber-framed building that prior to the 1980s was Larks Hall Farm.

Friday Hill House is a Grade II listed house at 7, Simmons Lane, Friday Hill, London, E4 6JH.It was built in 1839 by the architect Lewis Vulliamy. The manor house built and owned by Robert Boothby Heathcote, who was both the lord of the manor and rector of the local church. It was he who paid for the building of the church of St Peter and St Paul in Chingford and a local school whose name lives on in the Heathcote School & Science College. He is buried in the Boothby family vault in All Saints' Churchyard (Chingford Old Church), Old Church Road. The vault was purchased by Robert Boothby (died 1733), who lived in the previous manor house. The Heathcotes lived in the 19th century house until the death of Louisa Heathcote in 1940.The present building has been used as a further education centre, but was put up for sale in 2012. In 2019, seven flats in the house were sold leasehold for prices in the range £322,500 to £465,000 each.The grounds hosts one of the Great Trees of London, a large London Plane. Part of the estate was sold to the London County Council who built the Friday Hill estate.

Chingford is a town in east London, England, within the London Borough of Waltham Forest. The centre of Chingford is 9.2 miles (14.8 km) north-east of Charing Cross, with Waltham Abbey to the north, Woodford Green and Buckhurst Hill to the east, Walthamstow to the south, and Edmonton and Enfield to the west. The town contains the areas of Chingford Green, Chingford Hatch, Chingford Mount, Friday Hill, Hale End, Highams Park, North Chingford and South Chingford. It had a population of 70,583 at the 2021 census. Historically an ancient parish in the Waltham hundred of Essex, the town expanded significantly in the late 19th century, forming part of the conurbation of London, similar to much of south-west Essex. It was included in the Metropolitan Police District in 1840 and became part of London's postal district upon its inception in 1856, with the NE postcode area replaced with E in 1866. The parish was granted urban district status in 1894, and municipal borough status in 1938. Its administrative headquarters were at Chingford Town Hall until its abolition in 1965. Chingford has formed part of Greater London since 1965.

Highams Park is a railway station on the Chingford branch of the Lea Valley lines, located in Highams Park in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, north-east London. It is 8 miles 52 chains (13.9 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and is situated between Wood Street and Chingford. It has been operated by London Overground since 2015. The station is in Travelcard Zone 4.

The newspaper's weekly circulation is 2,508 copies, according to ABC figures for July to December 2017.The paper is part of the Guardian Series of local newspapers, which also included the Chingford Guardian, Wanstead and Woodford Guardian, and the Epping Forest Guardian. The group is owned by Newsquest, which also prints dozens of local and regional papers across the UK.

Friday Hill is a housing estate in Chingford (in the London Borough of Waltham Forest; OS Grid Reference TQ391933), named after the hill of the same name, lying north of Chingford Hatch. It takes its name from a John Friday who held land there in the fifteenth century; prior to this, it was known as Jackatt Hill. Friday Hill House, on the crest of the hill, designed by the architect Lewis Vulliamy (1791–1871), was built in 1839. It served as the manor house of the Heathcote family, replacing an earlier Jacobean house on the site (built in 1608). The manor house had farmland of 160 acres (0.65 km2). Louisa Boothby-Heathcote (1854–1940), who had succeeded as lady of the manor in 1915, was the last resident of the house. After the 1939-45 war, the estate was sold to London County Council who built the large housing estate. The house was used by the Chingford Community Association from the late 1940s until 2006 when the London Borough of Waltham Forest Council's Adult Education Service (CLaSS) took it over, displacing the community centre to a timber panelled building in the grounds and facing Weale Road to the rear. The house was used for Adult Education until 2012 when the Education Service consolidated into other buildings and Friday Hill House was put up for sale. It is a Grade II listed building. According to legend, King Charles II is said to have knighted a loin of beef ("Sir Loin") at Friday Hill; however, there are other places that also claim this honour, and the story is generally assumed to be apocryphal. The pub on Friday Hill, now called The Dovecote, in the past has traded as "The Sirloin" (before the estate was sold) and Little Friday Hill House. The pop group Friday Hill took its name from the area, the group's members having grown up here.

Hale End is a locality in East London in the borough of Waltham Forest, very near Woodford Green, two miles from Tottenham and one mile from Walthamstow. It adjoins Highams Park in the E4 postal district. Much of Highams Park until the late 19th century used to be called Hale End. Hale End railway station was opened in 1873 and renamed Highams Park-Hale End railway station in 1894. Population: 11,355 (Hale End and Highams Park ward, 2011 census)

Chingford was a local government district in south west Essex, England from 1894 to 1965, around the town of Chingford. It was within the London suburbs, forming part of the London postal district and Metropolitan Police District. Its former area now corresponds to the northern part of the London Borough of Waltham Forest in Greater London.

Our Lady of Grace and St Teresa of Avila is a Grade II listed Roman Catholic church at 1 King's Road, Chingford, London, E4 7HP.It was built in 1930 by the architect George W. Martyn with extensions in 1939 and 1956.
