Northcote Road is a shopping street In Battersea, south London, which stretches over half a mile. It is close to Clapham Junction station. It is the epicentre of the so-called 'Nappy Valley', named because of the young, affluent and productive demographic and also because the road lies over a culverted stream (the Falconbrook) giving it a low-lying position between the two commons of Wandsworth and Clapham (rising to the west and east respectively). As well as many cafes and shops, Northcote Road has an historic food market which dates back to the 1860s, as well as the indoor Northcote Road Antiques Market. However, as with the vast majority of street markets, Northcote Road is a mere shadow of itself, being much smaller size, and more specialised in what its stalls offer, reflecting the changing demographics of the local area.

Northcote Lodge School is an independent preparatory school for boys aged 8–13 in Wandsworth Common, South London. The school is owned by Malcolm and Katharine Colquhoun. The school's premises at 26 Bolingbroke Grove are the former location of Linden Lodge School for the Blind. Entry to Northcote Lodge is primarily via Broomwood Hall - there is also a 7+ entry and Academic and Music scholarships via Broomwood for boys interested in moving on to Northcote - but there are always some places for external candidates at 8. The school also has some places at 11+ for boys who are looking to move on to a boarding school at 13.

St Mary's Cemetery is a cemetery opened in 1860 in Wandsworth, London. It was established by St Mary's Burial Board in part of Wandsworth Common. It has also been known as Battersea St Mary's Cemetery and Battersea Rise Cemetery. Its burial land was exhausted in the 1960s. There is a small chapel where services can be conducted. It is owned by the London Borough of Wandsworth. Notable burials include: John Burns, trade unionist and politician, MP for Battersea Sir William Anderson Rose, Lord Mayor of London, MP for Southampton William Taylor, headmaster of Sir Walter St John's Grammar School For Boys for 34 years from 1873 to 1907The cemetery contains the war graves of 15 British service personnel from World War I and 3 from World War II.

Wandsworth Common is a public common in Wandsworth, in the London Borough of Wandsworth, south London. It is 69.43 hectares (171.6 acres) and is maintained and regulated by Wandsworth Council. It is also a Ward of the London Borough of Wandsworth. The population of the ward at the 2011 Census was 15,247.

St Mark's, Battersea Rise, is a Victorian Grade II* listed Anglican church located in Clapham Junction in London. The church was designed by William White and built from 1872 to 1874 in a Geometric Middle-pointed, 13th Century Gothic style using yellow bricks with red brick dressings and diapering. Inside, the nave comprises four bays with north aisles, a tower at the south-west corner supporting a wooden belfry and a shingled spire. Concrete piers with naturalistic stone-carved capitals were produced by Harry Hems. The interior floor is tiled. The choir stalls, pulpit and font were built to White's designs. The altar is raised on a stone plinth behind low brass rails. At the east end, the ambulatory descends to the crypt.After a declining congregation and a dilapidated church building, the parish recovered as the result of a church plant in 1987 from Holy Trinity Brompton, led by Pastor Paul Perkin, his wife Christine and a group of about 50 followers. Through donations from the congregation, building works have been undertaken, with a new welcome hall and extended meeting hall opened in 2007. St Mark's Church has been described as conservative and evangelical and was the subject of an article by The Guardian newspaper in 2012, Money becomes new church battleground. The article describes a "bitter power struggle within the CofE and the wider Anglican communion" on conservative issues such as homosexuality and the ordination of women priests. Boutflower Road, which runs to the east of the church, is named for Henry Boutflower Verdon, the church's first vicar-designate who died, young, in 1879, seven years before the construction of the road as part of Alfred Heaver's St John's Park property development.

Battersea Library is a Grade II listed building at Altenburg Gardens, Battersea, London, SW11 1JB.Battersea Library was built in 1924, and the architect was Henry Hyams.The reference library is connected to Battersea Central Library.

Arding & Hobbs is a former department store and Grade II listed building at the junction of Lavender Hill and St John's Road, Battersea, London SW11 1QL.Arding & Hobbs was established in 1876. The present building was constructed in 1910 in an Edwardian Baroque style, and the architect was James Gibson.The department store sold to the John Anstiss Group in 1938, before John Anstiss was purchased by United Drapery Stores in 1948 and was added to their Allders group in the 1970s. Allders went into administration in 2005 and was subsequently broken up and sold. The main part of the Arding & Hobbs building was split between a branch of Debenhams department store and TK Maxx retail. As of 9 June 2020, the Debenhams section of the building has been permanently closed. The store and building is featured in a number of films and television programmes including the 1981 action-thriller Nighthawks, where the shop was bombed, and the 1994 Mr. Bean episode "Do-It-Yourself Mr. Bean". It is very prominent in the video "Life On Your Own" by the band The Human League which is set in a future, apocalytic London where the lead singer is the only person left alive and lives in the building.

Battersea Central Library is a public lending library situated on Lavender Hill in Battersea, south-west London. The library was built by the Battersea Vestry between 1889 and 1890, to a design by Edward Mountford, and remains in use in contemporary times as one of Wandsworth Council's libraries, operated by Greenwich Leisure Ltd. A separate Battersea Reference Library, built in 1924 with a frontage on Altenburg Gardens, is connected to the Central Library, and together the pair are known as Battersea Library.

Wandsworth Common railway station is in the London Borough of Wandsworth in south London. It is 4 miles 5 chains (6.5 km) down the line from London Victoria. The station and all trains serving it are operated by Southern, and it is in Travelcard Zone 3.

New Wandsworth was a railway station in Wandsworth. The station was opened by the West End of London and Crystal Palace Railway on the 29 March 1858 when the railway extended its line from Wandsworth to Pimlico. It closed on 1 November 1869, six years after Clapham Junction had opened a short distance to the north and was replaced by Wandsworth Common station.The station was close to the London and South Western Railway's Clapham Common station located on a separate line, with both stations being open between 1858 and 1863.

Oak Lodge School is a specialist day school with a residential provision for students with hearing, speech, language and communication needs aged 10–19. It is located in the London borough of Wandsworth in England.Oak Lodge School also hosts other services, such as Deaf First (for education of deaf adults) and a Sixth Form (providing support to deaf students who are educated at nearby colleges and on-site). The school currently has more than 80 pupils from 25 different boroughs. A residential provision is also available for a small number of children to stay in the school's hostel during the week. Phoenix House was judged to be outstanding by Ofsted in December 2016.
