Lakeside High School (DeKalb County, Georgia)

St. Pius X Catholic High School is a private Catholic high school in Chamblee, DeKalb County, Georgia, near the city of Atlanta. It was founded by the Archdiocese of Atlanta in 1958.

Rehoboth is an unincorporated community in DeKalb County, in the U.S. state of Georgia.

The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG), formerly known as the Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE), is the State of Georgia Government Agency which supervises the U.S. state of Georgia's 22 technical colleges, while also surveying the adult literacy program and economic and workforce development programs. The system operates the Georgia Virtual Technical Connection, a clearinghouse for online technical courses. The TCSG serves the people and the state by creating a system of technical education whose purpose is to use the latest technology and easy access for all adult Georgians and corporate citizens. The Technical College System and the University System of Georgia (USG) are completely separate agencies and work entirely independently of each other, except for certain cooperative efforts. Some core courses are transferable between the two, though this was made more difficult when the USG moved to the semester system in 1997, while the TCSG remained on the quarter system. The TCSG changed to the semester system in Fall (August) 2011. The TCSG worked with the state budget office to minimize the economic impact of the conversion, believing a move is in the best interests of TCSG students. Beginning in 2008, it was being studied whether some schools should merge. The first was the merger of Georgia Aviation Technical College in Eastman into the USG's Middle Georgia College (now known as Middle Georgia State University) in 2007, effective July 1. In September 2008, the State Board of Technical and Adult Education voted to merge 13 colleges into six. The board stated that the mergers only affect the administrative functions of the colleges.When the University System of Georgia mandated semesters in 1998, enrollment fell by several thousand students, and those that remained took fewer courses, causing budget shortfalls which the state legislature had to make up for.

The Annunciation Cathedral is a Greek Orthodox Cathedral located in Atlanta, Georgia. It is the seat of the Archbishop of the Metropolis of Atlanta, in the Southeastern United States. The church is known for the rich background and extravagant decoration on both the interior and exterior of the church. The original membership of the parish was 72. The current membership includes over 1200 families.

Plaza Fiesta is a 350,000 square feet (33,000 m2) shopping mall in DeKalb County, Georgia on the eastern border of the city of Brookhaven, on Buford Highway and Clairmont Road. The mall contains a large supermarket ("farmers market"), several large discount stores, and a large space filled with over 140 small vendors, modeled on a Mexican mercado or flea market. According to newspaper Creative Loafing, "to Atlanta's immigrant population, Plaza Fiesta has become as vital a shopping destination as Lenox Square or the Mall of Georgia." The mall opened in 1968 as the Buford-Clairmont Mall and included a movie theater. Tenants included Woolco which later became a Burlington Coat Factory. Later the mall became "Outlet Square" and included a Winn-Dixie supermarket. In 1996, new owners turned the mall into "Oriental Mall", modeled after a crowded Hong Kong street. In 2000 new owners spend $11 million to transform Oriental Mall into Plaza Fiesta. A Publix supermarket closed in 2005. Marshall's closed in the early 2010s as it opened a store in nearby Town Brookhaven.2013 saw a number of openings at the plaza, including the Shoppers World discount store, Planet Fitness gym, and Ross Dress for Less. That same year, the mall reported over 4 million visitors. The mall attracts shoppers from as far as North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. In February 2020, an Ollie's Bargain Outlet location opened next to the Planet Fitness location.

Northlake is an unincorporated community in northeastern metro Atlanta, Georgia, United States, in DeKalb County. Although not formally an edge city, Northlake is home to a large amount of office space, retail options, and residential housing. Similar to its edge city neighbor north of Atlanta, Perimeter Center, Northlake's history began with the construction of a shopping mall, Northlake Mall, in 1971. Both the area and mall are named after North Lake, an actual lake within the community. Northlake is located northeast of Atlanta, south of the junction of I-285 and I-85. The area is served by the arterial roads of LaVista Road, Briarcliff Road, and Henderson Mill Road.

Northlake Mall is a shopping mall northeast of Atlanta in the Northlake community of northern DeKalb County, Georgia, United States. The mall was once owned and managed by Simon Property Group - but since February 2016 has been owned by Texas-based ATR Corinth Partners. Anchor store is Macy's (formerly Davison's).

McElroy Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church was organized June 3, 1953. It was formerly Candler Road Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, organized February 13, 1949. The building, now for sale, stands at 3593 Clairmont Road, Chamblee, Georgia, United States, in DeKalb County. The church included the Albert W. Krueger Educational Unit, Erected 1956. For a number of years, it operated McElroy Presbyterian Kindergarten.

WSB (750 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Atlanta, Georgia. It airs a talk radio radio format, simulcast on Doraville-licensed WSBB-FM. WSB is the flagship station for Cox Media Group; in addition to WSB and WSBB-FM, it owns three other Atlanta radio stations and Atlanta's ABC Television Network affiliate, WSB-TV. From 1939 to 2019, WSB was owned by Cox Enterprises along with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution daily newspaper; the station had been established by the Journal in 1922. The station's studios and offices are located at the WSB Television and Radio Group building on West Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta, which is shared with its television and radio partners. WSB transmits with 50,000 watts of non-directional power, the highest permitted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for AM stations. WSB is a clear-channel Class A station. Its transmitter and radiating tower are located seven miles (11 kilometers) northeast of Atlanta at the Northlake Tower Festival Shopping Center, off Lavista Road in Tucker, Georgia. Its daytime coverage area is not as large as 50,000-watt AM stations in other parts of the country due to Georgia's poor ground conductivity; as such, a number of outer Atlanta suburbs only receive a grade B signal. At night, when radio waves travel farther, WSB can be heard across much of the eastern half of North America with a good radio. However, it is strongest in the Southeast and East Coast. Although WSB is licensed to make HD Radio digital transmissions, it is not doing so, apparently due to listener complaints of RF interference.

Sophia Academy was a private, Roman Catholic PreK3-12 school in the Atlanta metropolitan area in Georgia. It was located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta and was located in Sandy Springs and then DeKalb County (later annexed by Chamblee).

The Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) is the state agency for libraries in the U.S. State of Georgia and a unit of the University System of Georgia. The service was initially founded in 1996 after the inception of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), and in July 2000 moved from the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE) to the Georgia Board of Regents and University System of Georgia. Julie Walker is the current State Librarian.

On February 26, 1973, a private Learjet 24 crashed shortly after take-off from DeKalb–Peachtree Airport in Chamblee, Georgia, United States. The aircraft, registration N454RN, owned by a private corporation, struck birds shortly after lifting off. Air traffic control advised the flight crew of smoke trailing from their left engine; the crew said they would not be able to return to the airport. The aircraft impacted the roof of an apartment building and came to rest in a ravine. All five passengers and two crew members aboard the aircraft were killed; a person in the apartment building suffered severe burns. A subsequent investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) confirmed the aircraft had impacted birds during take-off. Due to loss of power in the left engine, the flight crew were unable to control their aircraft before it struck the roof of the apartment building. The investigation further determined the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and officials at DeKalb–Peachtree Airport were aware of the danger of birds at the airport after a landfill site had opened in the vicinity of the airport ten years before the accident.
