The Blue is a central market place in Bermondsey. The market is open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 5pm and has about 10 stall holders, selling food and clothes. The area has been known locally as The Blue for more than two hundred and thirty years and is probably named after the original Blue Anchor public house that gave its name to Blue Anchor Lane. The market has capacity for 24 stalls.Immediately north of Blue Anchor Lane on an arched viaduct are the multiple railway tracks of the Brighton and South East Main Lines. The Blue Anchor Lane joins St. James's Road where the viaduct arches to the immediate north west contain the remnants of the disused Spa Road railway station which was the original terminus of London's first railway. In 2005 a Metropolitan Police report described the area as a crime hotspot for "race crime and youth disorder". In October 2014 The Blue became a Business Improvement District (BID).

Bermondsey (also known as St. Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey) was a parish in the metropolitan area of London, England. The ancient parish was part of Hundred of Brixton and County of Surrey. In 1855, it was included in the area of responsibility of the Metropolitan Board of Works (MBW). The act, establishing the MBW, also incorporated a new elected local authority for the parish known as The Vestry of the Parish of Bermondsey in the County of Surrey.The population of the parish in 1896 was 84,632, and it had adopted the Public Libraries Act 1850 in 1887. For electoral purposes, the parish was divided into four wards and had 120 elected vestrymen. In 1889, the area of the Metropolitan Board was reconstituted as the County of London, and Bermondsey was transferred to the new county. In 1900, the County of London was divided into twenty-eight metropolitan boroughs. The parish became the core part of the Metropolitan Borough of Bermondsey, which also covered the parish of Rotherhithe, and the area of the St Olave's District Board of Works (consisting of the two parishes of Southwark St John Horsleydown and Southwark St Olave and St Thomas). A borough council replaced the vestries and board, and in 1904, all four parishes in the borough were merged as the single civil parish of Bermondsey.

City of London Academy, Southwark is a co-educational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the Bermondsey area of the London Borough of Southwark, England.The school was first opened in 2003, and moved to a new building in 2005. The building was designed by Studio E Architects and built by Willmott Dixon. The school is sponsored by the City of London Corporation, along with City Academy, Hackney and City of London Academy Islington. The school has specialisms in Business and Enterprise and in Sport, and the school teaches the non-curricular subject Business Studies, designed to help pupils become entrepreneurs. A unique aspect of The City of London Academy, Southwark is that students pay for their lunches with a Prepaid MasterCard debit card that parents top up using a smartphone app. Students can also pay for their meals with a fingerprint scanner.

Spa School Bermondsey is a coeducational special school for pupils aged 11 to 19. It is located in the Bermondsey area of the London Borough of Southwark, England. It is one of Britain's largest state schools for children with autism, and has a high staff to student ratio. The school occupies an old-fashioned red-brick building behind which is a landscaped garden through which flows an artificial stream.

Spa Road railway station in Bermondsey, south-east London, was the original terminus of the capital's first railway, the London and Greenwich Railway (L&GR). It was also the first railway terminus in what is now Greater London. First opened in 1836, the station went through several changes of ownership, was rebuilt several times, changed its name and was relocated a couple of hundred yards away from its original site before it closed in 1915 due to cost-saving measures during the First World War. The disused station building is today part of a light industrial estate. A number of elements of the original station – including the ticket office and remnants of the platforms – are still visible.

Paterson Park is located in Bermondsey, in central South East London, and is managed by the London Borough of Southwark. It was formally opened in 1953.

St James's Church, Bermondsey, is a Church of England parish church in Bermondsey, south London. Designed by James Savage, it was one of the churches built as a result of the Church Building Acts. It was completed and consecrated in 1829 and given a separate parish (split off from the ancient parish of St Mary Magdalene's, Bermondsey) in 1840. In 1949 it was designated a Grade II* listed building.The spire was inspired by Sir Christopher Wren’s St. Stephen Walbrook, and required a separate Act of Parliament in 1831 to borrow extra funds.The churchyard was closed to burials in 1855, and was then used for communal drying. It was converted to gardens by the Metropolitan Public Gardens Association, and opened to the public in 1886. An obelisk memorial and some chest-tombs were retained.

Bermondsey is a London Underground station. It is in the eastern part of Bermondsey in the London Borough of Southwark and also serves the western part of Rotherhithe, in south-east London. The station itself was designed by Ian Ritchie Architects. Although it was originally intended to have a multi-storey office building on the top, London Underground have yet to realise the second phase of the scheme.It is on the Jubilee line, having been built as part of the Jubilee Line Extension between London Bridge and Canada Water stations. It is notable for its extensive use of natural light. The main station entrance is on the south side of Jamaica Road. The station is in Travelcard Zone 2.

Monmouth Coffee Company is a coffee roaster, retailer and wholesaler in London, which was founded in 1978. It played an important role in regenerating Neal's Yard and Borough Market. It has remained focused on roasting and selling coffee beans and was one of the foundations for the third wave of coffee in London after the year 2000.

The Bermondsey Settlement was a settlement house founded in Bermondsey, South-East London, by the Rev'd John Scott Lidgett. It was the only Methodist foundation among the settlements that appeared in the late 19th and early 20th century. Like other settlement houses it offered social, health and educational services to the poor of its neighbourhood. It was particularly concerned with educational matters (Lidgett was a prominent educationist) including music and dance. It is noted for the work of one of its residents, Grace Kimmins, in relation to children's play. Other notable residents included the radical nonconformist Hugh Price Hughes, Grace Kimmins' husband Charles William Kimmins, English socialist and pacifist Ada Salter, and doctor and political radical Alfred Salter. The settlement opened in 1892. The architect of the main building was Elijah Hoole, who had also built Toynbee Hall some years earlier. It was closed in 1967 and the building was demolished two years later.

Bermondsey and Old Southwark is a constituency in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament. Since 2015, it has been represented by Neil Coyle, who was elected as a Labour MP but was suspended from the party in February 2022 following an accusation of racism.
