Wong Nai Chung Gap (Chinese: 黃泥涌峽; lit. 'The gorge that yellow mud is gushing out of') is a geographic gap in the middle of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. The gap is between Mount Nicholson and Jardine's Lookout behind Wong Nai Chung (Happy Valley). Five roads meet at the Gap: Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, Tai Tam Reservoir Road, Repulse Bay Road, Deep Water Bay Road and Black's Link. It is a strategic passage between the north and south of the island, though less so today since the opening of the Aberdeen Tunnel.

Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park is a park and artificial lake in the Wong Nai Chung Gap, Wong Nai Chung, Hong Kong, located near Hong Kong Parkview. It was formerly Wong Nai Chung Reservoir (黃泥涌水塘), a closed reservoir in Hong Kong.

Wong Nai Chung Gap Road (Chinese: 黃泥涌峽道) is a road in Wan Chai District and Southern District, located within Wong Nai Chung Gap within Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Parkview is the largest private housing estate in Tai Tam, Hong Kong. It is located at 88 Tai Tam Reservoir Road, Hong Kong Island, between Jardine's Lookout and Violet Hill. To its west is the Wong Nai Chung Gap. It is surrounded by Tai Tam Country Park.

Mount Nicholson (Chinese: 聶高信山) is a 430 m (1,411 ft) tall mountain located in Wan Chai District, on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The hill is believed to be named for Hong Kong Volunteer Corps Adjunct Lieutenant W.C.A. Nicholson.The western side of the mountain is flanked by the Hong Kong Trail Section 4 - Black's Link. On the eastern side are a few residential blocks close to Wong Nai Chung Gap Road. Mount Cameron is found to the west and separated by the Aberdeen Tunnel. Microwave equipment for television broadcasting (one concrete structure) are found at the mountain's peak and closed from public access by fencing and topped with barbed wire. A climbing wall is found on the northside of the mountain with access via Wong Nai Chung Gap Road.

The Hong Kong Island geographical constituency was one of the five geographical constituencies in the elections for the Legislative Council of Hong Kong from 1998 to 2021. It was established in 1998 for the first SAR Legislative Council election and was abolished under the 2021 overhaul of the Hong Kong electoral system. In the 2016 Legislative Council election, it elected six members of the Legislative Council using the Hare quota of party-list proportional representation. The constituency covered all the four districts on the Hong Kong Island, namely, Central and Western, Eastern, Southern and Wan Chai. In 2020, it had 707,277 registered voters.

Hong Kong Island is an island in the southern part of Hong Kong. It has a population of 1,289,500 and its population density is 16,390/km2, as of 2008. The island had a population of about 3,000 inhabitants scattered in a dozen fishing villages when it was occupied by the United Kingdom in the First Opium War (1839–1842). In 1842, the island was formally ceded in perpetuity to the UK under the Treaty of Nanking and the City of Victoria was then established on the island by the British Force in honour of Queen Victoria. The Central area on the island is the historical, political and economic centre of Hong Kong. The northern coast of the island forms the southern shore of the Victoria Harbour, which is largely responsible for the development of Hong Kong due to its deep waters favoured by large trade ships. The island is home to many of the most famous sights in Hong Kong, such as "The Peak", Ocean Park, many historical sites and various large shopping centres. The mountain ranges across the island are also famous for hiking. The northern part of Hong Kong Island, together with Kowloon and Tsuen Wan New Town, forms the core urban area of Hong Kong. Their combined area is approximately 88.3 square kilometres (34.1 square miles) and their combined population (that of the northern part of the island and of Kowloon) is approximately 3,156,500, reflecting a population density of 35,700/km2 (91,500/sq. mi.). The island is often referred to locally as "Hong Kong side" or "Island side". Suffix "side" applied to other locations (e.g. China-side and Kowloon Walled City-side), the sole remnant of which is "Kowloon side" when indicating the two sides of the harbour. The form was once more common in Britain than now, such as south/Surrey-side and endures in British placenames like Cheapside, Tyneside, and Teesside, not all of which have an obvious watercourse or boundary.

Deep Water Bay Road (Chinese: 深水灣道) is a road in the Southern District in Hong Kong. It constitutes part of the road south from Happy Valley towards Wong Chuk Hang. It is renowned as one of the wealthiest streets in Hong Kong and the world, with over a dozen billionaires living in mansions on this road.

Tai Tam Country Park (Chinese: 大潭郊野公園; Jyutping: daai6 taam4 gaau1 je5 gung1 jyun4) is a country park in the Tai Tam area in the south end of Hong Kong Island. At 1,315 hectares (3,250 acres), the park consists of one fifth of Hong Kong Island's land mass. During World War II, the Japanese encountered strong resistance from British defence forces here. So that the park preserves bloody memories from that period.The park was designated in 1977 with attractions like: Jardine's Lookout Tai Tam Upper Reservoir Tai Tam Byewash Reservoir Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir Tai Tam Forts Mount Parker, the second highest peak (531 m (1,742 ft)) on Hong Kong Island Mount ButlerGranite rocks in the north and volcanic rocks in the south form the geological composition of this area.Another country park adjacent to it, named Tai Tam Country Park (Quarry Bay Extension), was designated in 1979.

Jardine's Lookout (Chinese: 渣甸山) is a mountain and a residential area on the Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is located on the south of Happy Valley, east of Causeway Bay, and west of Mid-Levels East, at an altitude of approximately 433 metres (1,421 ft). Nearby hills include Mount Nicholson, Violet Hill and Mount Butler. Administratively, it is part of Wan Chai District. It is also on north of Deep Water Bay and Black’s Link and Hong Kong Parkview. Jardine’s Lookout consisted of thirteen roads named after British famous persons during Hong Kong’s colonial times. Although these roads are accessible from Chun Fai Road, Tai Hang Drive and Tai Hang Road, only thirteen roads should be recognized as Jardine’s Lookout’s residential district. Residential buildings such as Ronsdale Garden on Tai Hang Drive and Chun Fai Road are considered as the upper part of Tai Hang, below Mount Butler instead of Jardine’s Lookout. In 2019, Citic Pacific purchased a redevelopment site at 135 Tai Hang Road for HK$3.2 billion through a government land auction. This site is located on Tai Hang Road below Mount Butler, not considered to be Jardine’s Lookout.
