Walayar

Walayar Dam is a dam in Palakkad district of Kerala, India. This dam is constructed across the Walayar River, which is a tributary of Kalpathipuzha River. It was completed and opened in 1964. It is one of the major sources of irrigation in the region. Most of the water in this river is passed to the inner places of Walayar. The dam holds a larger reservoir area, and the persons living near the reservoir area utilizes the water from the walayar dam as their main water source for irrigation. Currently the water held inside the reservoir is less due to lesser rain at Walayar. The reservoir area is very scenic and has better scope for tourism.

Coimbatore Elephant Reserve is a protected area located in Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Erode districts of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The reserve covers an area of 566 km2 (219 sq mi) and was notified in 2003 as a part of Project Elephant.

Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur is one of the institutions of higher learning run by SN Trusts, Kollam. The college is situated at the foot of the Kalari Hills, about 14 kilometers northeast of Kozhikode (Calicut). The college has a campus of about 67 acres (27 ha) from the side of Kozhikode - Balussery Road. The foundation stone of the college was laid in February 1968 by the late Dr. T. Balakrishnan. The college was founded in the name of Sree Narayana Guru. Classes began in June 1968. In 1975, the college was elevated to the status of a degree college with undergraduate courses in botany and commerce.
