Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (or Amrita University) is a private deemed university based in Coimbatore, India. It currently has 7 campuses with 16 constituent schools across the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka with the headquarters at Ettimadai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur is one of the institutions of higher learning run by SN Trusts, Kollam. The college is situated at the foot of the Kalari Hills, about 14 kilometers northeast of Kozhikode (Calicut). The college has a campus of about 67 acres (27 ha) from the side of Kozhikode - Balussery Road. The foundation stone of the college was laid in February 1968 by the late Dr. T. Balakrishnan. The college was founded in the name of Sree Narayana Guru. Classes began in June 1968. In 1975, the college was elevated to the status of a degree college with undergraduate courses in botany and commerce. It became a venue for post-graduate studies with the commencement of MCom in 1995 and MA English in 1999. In March 2007, the college was accredited by the NAAC at the level of B+ grade. The college, affiliated to University of Calicut, imparts instruction to nearly one thousand students in different branches of arts, science and commerce at the undergraduate and post-graduate level.

It belongs to the SNR and sons trust founded by Sevaratna Dr.R.Venkatesalu. It is affiliated to Anna University and AICTE. It offers six undergraduate and five postgraduate courses. The college became autonomous in 2017 and all courses were accredited by the NAAC and given "A" grade.

Coimbatore Elephant Reserve is a protected area located in Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Erode districts of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The reserve covers an area of 566 km2 (219 sq mi) and was notified in 2003 as a part of Project Elephant.
