Palakkad Industrial Smart City

Kanjikode or Kanchikode is an industrial town located 13 km (8.1 mi) east of Palakkad. Kanjikode is the second largest industrial hub in Kerala after Kochi. The town is part of Pudussery Panchayat. It is one of the growing suburbs of Palakkad city. First and the only Indian Institute of Technology in Kerala, Indian Institute of Technology,Palakkad was established in Kanjikode.

The V. V. College of Science and Technology (Vanika Vaisya College of Science and Technology ), a self-financing institution (managed by Vanika Vaisya Educational and Employment Trust, Thiruvananthapuram|Vanika Vaisya Educational and Employment Trust, Thiruvananthapuram) situated in Kanjikode, 17 km away from Palakkad, Kerala. The college started in 2002 with an aim to provide the youngsters, especially in the rural areas to pursue studies in non-conventional courses. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut. Walayar River (also called Velliyar River or Valliyar River) is one of the tributaries of the river Kalpathipuzha. Kalpathipuzha is one of the main tributaries of the Bharathapuzha River, the second-longest river in Kerala, India. The Walayar Dam is constructed across this river. It was completed and opened in 1964. The river is by a valley and a garden equipped with a children's play area. Previously Walayar Dam was as famous as Malampuzha Dam.

Malampuzha Dam is the second largest dam and reservoirs in Kerala, located near Palakkad, in the state of Kerala in South India, built post independence by the then Madras state. Situated in the scenic hills of the Western Ghats in the background it is a combination of a masonry dam with a length of 1,849 metres and an earthen dam with a length of 220 metres making it the longest dam in the state. The dam is 355 feet high and crosses the Malampuzha River, a tributary of Bharathappuzha, Kerala's second longest river. There is a network of two canal systems that serve the dam's reservoir of 42,090 hectares.

Kodumbu Subramaniya Swamy Temple is one of the oldest Murugan temple in Kerala region. It is located in the village of Kodumba in Palakkad district, 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) southeast of Palakkad and southwest of Coimbatore in the valley of the Soka Nasini river, Kerala, India. Kodumbu temple is considered as half of Palani Murugan.Devotees believe that if a devotee takes bath in the Soka Nasini river, all his sorrows would fly away.
