The Early College at Guilford

Guilford College is a private liberal arts college in Greensboro, North Carolina. Guilford has both traditional students and students who attend its Center for Continuing Education (CCE). Founded in 1837 by members of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Guilford's program offerings include such majors as Peace and Conflict Studies and Community and Justice Studies, both rooted in the college's history as a Quaker institution. Its campus has been considered a National Historic District by the United States Department of the Interior since 1990.

Ragan-Brown Field House is a 2,500-seat multi-purpose arena located on the campus of Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina known for its distinctive cathedral-like wooden ceiling. The arena is named in honor of Herbert and Elizabeth Ragan and Edwin and Dorothy Brown and was dedicated in 1980. In 2003 the arena underwent a substantial renovation project and currently serves as the home for the Guilford Quakers basketball and volleyball programs.

Kimrey-Haworth House is a historic home located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. It was built about 1925, and is a two-story, five bay by three bay, frame dwelling in the Renaissance Revival style faced with brick. It has a hipped roof covered by rounded Spanish-style red tiles, a brick chimney, and deep overhanging eaves. The front facade features a one-story wooden segmental arched portico supported by wooden Doric order columns. Also on the property is a contributing complementary garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Western Guilford High School is located in Greensboro, North Carolina, and is part of the Guilford County School system. The school has approximately 1,300 students and its sports teams are the Fighting Hornets. The school opened in the fall of 1968. In September 2000, Western Guilford was renovated via public bond. The design of the new addition integrates different components of the campus by introducing new circulation patterns. A new entry gallery at the front entry to the school was designed; along with art and classroom additions that form an internal courtyard. The addition consists of four basic elements: Classroom addition to the vocational building, a new "auxiliary" gym, a two-story classroom addition and a single-story art addition. Keith Barnett is the principal of Western Guilford High. The Student-Teacher ratio is 18:1. The school's mascot is Buzz the Hornet and the school colors are Black and Old Gold. Western is a member of the Metro 3A Conference and the Athletic Director is Christopher Causey. Beginning the program in 2014, Western Guilford High School was North Carolina's first high school to offer College Board's AP Capstone Program. The AP Capstone Program, also known as the Advanced Placement Academy, is a challenging two-year program designed to train students for the independent research and collaborative projects common in college-level courses.

AHA International School (formerly American Hebrew Academy until 2020) was intended to be an international college-preparatory school located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was to be open to students of all faiths but was originally founded as a Jewish international school, American Hebrew Academy, the only such school in the world for boarding and day students between 9th and 12th grade. The coeducational school's 100-acre (40 ha) campus was designed by Aaron Green, protégé of renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The school closed in June 2019 but later announced plans to reopen for the 2021–2022 school year.

B'nai Shalom Day School is an independent Jewish day school in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States. The school was founded in August 1970 as a Solomon Schechter Day School and originally called the North Carolina Hebrew Academy at Greensboro. In 1979, the name was changed to B’nai Shalom. In the 1980s, B’nai Shalom elected to join the Jewish Community Day School Network.

Caldwell Academy is a private, Independent Classical Christian school located in Greensboro, North Carolina. Caldwell provides a TK–12 education from a Classical Christian perspective.

The 1947 U.S. Women's Open was the second U.S. Women's Open, held June 26−29 at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Betty Jameson won her only U.S. Women's Open, six strokes ahead of runners-up Polly Riley and Sally Sessions, both amateurs. She entered the final round on Sunday with a two shot lead at 225 (−3) and carded a six-under 70. It was the second of her three major championships. Jameson was the runner-up the previous year, conducted in a match play format. Defending champion Patty Berg finished ninth, third among the professionals.

The Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden is a historical garden and visitor center located in Greensboro, North Carolina. It was created in 1976 to recognize and honor the 200th anniversary of the United States (its bicentennial). The garden features a man-made circulating stream, a wedding gazebo, and a variety of artistic and historical sculptures. Throughout, many different plants and shrubs decorate the landscape including annuals, perennials, flowering trees, and canopy trees. Greensboro Beautiful is a non-profit organization that raises funds for the garden, while the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department oversees the events offered.

Greensboro Arboretum (17 acres) is an arboretum located in Lindley Park at 401 Ashland Drive, Greensboro, North Carolina. It is open to the public daily without charge. Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, at 2332 New Garden Road in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina, commemorates the Battle of Guilford Court House, fought on March 15, 1781. This battle opened the campaign that led to American victory in the Revolutionary War. Though they won the battle, the casualties suffered by the British in this battle contributed to their surrender at Yorktown seven months later. The battlefield is preserved as a National Military Park and operated by the National Park Service (NPS). Based on research of historical evidence, the interpretation of the battle has changed since the late 20th century, which will affect the placement of monuments and markers.

Hoskins House Historic District, also known as Tannenbaum Park, is a historic log cabin and national historic district located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. The Hoskins House is a late-18th or early-19th century chestnut log dwelling house measuring 24 feet by 18 feet. It has an interior enclosed stair and exterior stone chimney. The house was restored in 1986–1987. Also on the property is the contributing Coble Barn (c 1830). It is a large double-pen log barn of hewn V-notched logs under a long wood-shingled gable roof. The barn was moved to and restored at its current location in 1987. The Hoskins House site was the focal point of the British attack during the Battle of Guilford Court House on March 15, 1781. The Hoskins property survives today as an important satellite to the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
